The staff is more than rude. The selection is ok. Not organized, old sales tags out but they will not honor them. The restroom is filthy. My fist experience old sale tags where out but they would not honor it. Second was today and I finally found some fabric through the cluter. I made my way to the extremely rude cutting counter where the ladies were talking rudely about the last customer finally took me. I asked for 2 yards the lady just threw it out did not straighten it and started cutting. I just reached out to fix it because I ordered 2 yards not 1 and something. And she snapped we do not cut of you touch it! I told her nicely it wasnt straight and she said I know! The second roll of fabric she picked up and slamed 3 time before she decided to unroll and cut. Really?! I like Hancocks on Peters Creek Parkway much better. They are friendly and like thier jobs a lot more than these people.

VERY poor customer service! Clerk and Manager on duty for 1/11/15 were extremely rude, unwilling to assist with questions and were put off b/c my wife didnt have a shopping buggy and they had to put her fabric on a table to cut it - crazy experience! The poor clerk at the front was new and the two that were cutting fabric were verbally abusive to this poor girl! My wife is an avid shopper at this store, but when clerk got upset about staging fabric on an empty counter in back of cutting table, my wife told her to just go ahead and put the fabric back up - not buying it. VERY unprofessional - they lost the store a bit of money and shes been looking for an embroidery machine - "manager of the day" was rude - wouldnt offer to check other store or see if anything could be found - she is ready to purchase and they lost the sale for the machine as well!

They need to add an additional disclaimer to their percentage-off coupons -- basically saying "....coupon does not cover whatever we decide it doesnt cover, whether its on the list or not." When the mini laminator I was going to purchase didnt ring up at a discount, the cashier said it was because it was "a machine." I asked her to show me where the disclaimer excluded "machines." She couldnt. So she called the manager, who was WAY too busy making multiple announcements that the store was going to close in ten minutes to bother with customer service. He said it was because it was a machine. She told him the list didnt exclude machines. Then he said, "Well, lets call it papercrafting then." Papercrafting? A laminator? Give me a break.

I love the selection of fabrics and notions, the location, the hours, the sales of this store....but you will never find a grouchier, meaner group of sales associates....they truly dont care about their customers and will fuss among each other in front of customers..... "it is HER turn to do this or that", or "Im leaving!!!!!"The lines are long and they are often understaffed. They could easily hire 4 or 5 more people every time I"ve been there....and they will often page someone "in the back" to come out and help "on the floor" and that person never seems to come...could they be hiding? So you take the good with the bad. As long as you dont need help and youre not in a hurry, youll love this store.

In Winston, its either Joanns or Hancocks for one-stop crafting/sewing shopping...But they both sadly complement eachothers weaknesses. Joanns definitely has more fabrics, but the cutting table is PAINFULLY SLOW (Id know cause I used to work at a fabric store and it should NOT take that long to cut fabric, but this can be fixed by better training.) Their foul moods however are up to each worker to improve...Hancocks is always a pleasant, efficient experience. Both HCs and JAs have similar pricing, and are relatively organized, but I chose to reward nicer staff so I go to HCs first and if they dont have something I want/need, I go to Joanns and HOPE I get a nice, efficient worker!! Hope this helps...

I was at Jo-Anns this evening with my mother. It was my first visit to the store and it was nothing but pleasant. I had several questions and needed help a couple of times and everyone that assisted me was really nice. The store was clean and very organized. I do not understand why all these bad reviews are on here. My mother is a faithful customer and she said she has never had a problem with the store or the people that work there. The only problem I seen is some of the items cost a little more than what I could get at wal mart, but wal mart didnt have what I needed so its all good.

Rude workers. Wait is a long time and the ladies working gripe and complain about other customers. I had a return bc of bad fabric. I asked the lady where i needed to return my purchace and she said to get in line, I waited in line for 20 mins, only to be told I had to take it to fabrics, then, I had to pull a #, wait 20 more minutes, and after I got the receipt, I had to go back up front and wait in line. Very poor customer service. All the while listen their potty mouthes. I try not to shop there any more.

They are extremely rude here though theyre are a few gems. I believe they take their cues from one of the managers that I have had the pleasure of experiencing his sub par customer service with before with other customers. The customer service here does not prevent me from shopping because the prices and selection tend to be incomparable to that of Hancocks at times. Also this particular location is significantly smaller than that of Greensboros Joanns.

I usually love Joann Fabrics, but this is the tiniest one I have ever seen. There is no other Joann Fabrics in Winston-Salem, Lewisville, Clemmons, Lexington, Rural Hall or even King. And this one is pathetic!

Nice place...lots of supplies, didnt have what I was looking for, but that is not surprising, not many places do...only complaint is it is hard to get in and out of traffic wise.

Each time I visit this store I tell myself it will be the last time. The employees there are rude and they all act as if its their first day on the job.

You have to be wise about sewing. The staff here is nice and friendly most of the time. It is not a place to be in a rush. They move at a snails pace.

As I stand in line, I miss Hancocks so very bad. There was no standing in line to pay for long periods of time. 3 or 4 registers and only one open.

Very friendly people. Wish there was a better way to find material you have an idea of what you are looking for like a searchable stock database.

Was there at Christmas and had to ask the manager a question, had to wait while he was outside in front of the store puffing on his "vape".
