Down with hate...Please read article below: By Ken Berwitz In the past few days two different friends told my wife they had gone into the new Hobby Lobby store in Marlboro, New Jersey and noticed that, although there already was a lot of Christmas merchandise available, there was none for the Jewish holiday of Chanukah (some people drop the "C" and spell it Hannukah. Same holiday). When one of our friends asked where the Chanukah goods were, was told there wouldnt be any, and asked why. According to her, the answer was: "We dont cater to you people" Understandably irate, she called the home office, and was told, indifferently, that hobby lobby doesnt have Chanukah on its list of holidays. Having heard this, and always wanting to be certain of what I write about, I just called the Marlboro hobby lobby and asked whether it would be stocking any Chanukah merchandise. I was told it would not. When I asked why, the answer - verbatim - was: "Because Mr. Green is the owner of the company, hes a Christian, and those are his values" FYI, I would guess that, in a five mile radius around that Marlboro store, a solid one-third of all residents are Jewish. But, then again, what is the difference? Since the reason Hobby Lobby wont sell Chanukah goods is unrelated to how many Jews are in the area, it wouldnt matter if the percentage were higher or lower. The reason is that Mr. greens Christian "values" preclude him selling anything related to a Jewish holiday - not just Chanukah, but Passover too, based on the call I just made to corporate headquarters. I have a great many Christian friends and acquaintances. And I can honestly say that I dont know even one who would ever see excluding Jews as having anything to do with Christian "values". But, evidently, Hobby Lobby owner David Green does. Well, here are MY values. I will never set foot in a Hobby Lobby. Ever. I will be sure to tell everyone I know the reason why, with a request that they pass it along to others. I have no problem at all with Christianity. But I have a major problem with anti-Semitic idiots. "Mr. green" can go to hell." I just passed it along. Very foolish for a company to come into a mixed area where many of the residents are Jewish and alienate us within the first few months. There are many stores who are happy to cater to "our people", those are the stores that deserve our business. Had they said this about Christians and had it been the other way around I would be just annoyed. Shame on him. I see no family values here.

I like shopping at this store. There is a wide variety of items and it is always quite clean. I did purchase a chalk board (50% off!) but I did not like the texture of the surface making it difficult to write with chalk. I took it back and did not have a problem returning it. I picked out a different one, but they were no longer on sale. The cashier and the other gal who I assume was a supervisor said they could not give me the sale price. Ugh. I guess I need to plan returning items better.

I love Hobby Lobbys. Their staff are always so nice. And I love their work ethic, and that the company stands by its system. The only thing I dont like, but I completely understand, is their sale mentality and marketing. One week its on sale....the next its not, but the following week itll be back on sale.... Drives me nuts, bc Im there so often.

If you like home decor this place is great. Tons of art, the graphical word placards with bible verses and other phrases, frames, and all kinds of hardware/anything you would need to beautify your home. The hobby side is mostly limited to painting, flower arrangement, foam art, and scrap booking with a small model section.

Hobby Lobby is awesome. They have such cool stuff to load up your house. Most items are discounted somehow/someway. They have a clearance section where you can get a lot of stuff REAL cheap. Check it out when youre there. All in all, this place rocks!! Check it out. Give yourself some time to shop. The place is big.

One of the only places I have found that carries the materials I need for my side business (jewelry making). Also they have some great classic prints if you are a comic poster fan. I respect the owners decision to not be open on Sunday, but it would make it easier for the weekend crafting warrior.

Run by the same sect as Chic-fil-A. Check-out procedures are slow and inefficient because the company doesnt believe in bar-codes, and all prices must be entered manually The selection is terrific, but its much better to find a local hobby shop like Esthers in Millvale.

Huge selection. Very helpful, accommodating staff. I made an impromptu stop one night, right at 8pm, unaware that was when they closed. One of the staff, informed me they were closing, and then waved down another employee to help me find what I needed..

Went into this store for the first time a month ago and I was blown away with their prices, inventory and also their helpful staff members. I think this is a great company and I will be supporting them from now on. 5 stars!

Hobby Lobby is the place to be. It has so much to offer, and you can find all your crafting or decorating needs. I love walking through the store and having a peek at all the offerings. The signs are fun to read.

Huge selection of craft items, house decor, small furniture, gifts, floral. A bit over priced on some of the items compared to similar stores. Friendly staff, usually not crowded- usually not a wait to check out.

Soon after arriving they started to announce they close in half hour. I get it you want to leave but what drove me over the edge is when they flashed lights off and on... Where has the customer service gone?

I didnt go there. I went to tile city next door. Hobby lobby is creepy and the people are not friendly at all. The owner of hobby lobby stole ancient artifacts and should be in jail.

Not much else to say except it is giant and has everything you might need / want for crafting and decorations. Everything is reasonably priced. Checkout is usually super slow though.

Even though most of the prices here are expensive, I love this place they have everything for artist and any crafts. Art supplies are more cheaper here compared to hobby stores.

Against my own political views, I went into this store. I will say they have some amazing stuff. If you are crafty, then you need to check this place out.

I do love the HobLobs, but the closed off Sundays thing is absurd. People work during the week, and usually have to designate a weekend day to home chores.

Probably the only person that does not like Hobby Lobby, but its always super busy and the store is just overwhelming with the amount of things to look at

They always have a sale, and you can always find a 40% off coupon on their website. Good selection. Too bad theyre run by fanatical Christians.

Love shopping @ Hobby Lobby! I have to be very careful not to over spend. They have the best items and I could spend hours in their store!
