I have been shopping at this store for over 5 years. I love this store! I wouldnt shop at any other pet store. The customer service is spectacular! I own a small retail store and I give my employees personal goals, to shop their, take notes on the experience and to bring it to work with them. All of the employees there are personable, helpful and intellegent. Any question I have ever had about my cats or my dog have been answered without hesitation, and with confidence. In reference to the comments about Christy: about a year ago I was helped by a gentleman (I do not remember his name), and he was so informative on fish tanks and maintenance (i had been interested in getting a tank for my son, and DID!). I asked him to introduce me to his manager, because after shopping there for years I realized, I had never met the manager and I wanted the manager to know and acknowlege his exceptional service and to finally meet the person responsible for this staff. I was surprised when he introduced her to me that is was Christy. She was a pretty young lady who barely looked older than 18 years old, who I had remembered as a person who had helped me a number of times before, and of course, to no surprise, had given me the same exceptional service as I had recieved from the rest of the staff. I let her know how impressed I was with the functioning of her store, the appearance, and the employees. I was impressed by her poise and professionalism, and she seemed to genuinely care about my opinion of her store and staff, and smiled and thanked the gentleman who I had recieved help from. She gave him a high five and some other words of encouragement, and he looked so happy and proud to have pleased her. I quickly realized why her employees act the way they do. Since this visit I have continued to shop there and would consider her to manage my boutique, if she didnt seem so happy to work there. AND FOR THE RECORD- I have in fact bought fish from them for my sons tank, I was shown the 3 day fish warranty sign, which is VISIBLY posted near the fish tanks anyways, and had a fish warranty flyer handed to me with my receipt. My fish did not die! I love this store! I love the people! I recommend this store to my family members and friends with pets, as well as strangers I meet at the dog park, and have no intention on taking my business elsewhere!

While two of the employees are great the shop as a whole is terrible. I adopted a ferret and I was told he would be ok living alone in his cage as long as I socialized him and played with him enough, my goal with adopting him was to get him certified as an emotional support animal for my panic disorder. The first day and night I had him went great and the second day was ok but the second night was when it got bad. He became erratically upset and was jumping from the top of his cage and bit anyone who tried to hold him, the next day I took him to the vet and they told me he was not 3 monthes like the shop had told me but was almost a year old and because of that he had bonded very strongly to the other ferrets in the enclosure. That afternoon I decided he would be better off back with the other ferrets so I called and explained the situation and was informed they would take him back and give me store credit for him because he was 150$, but when I got there they told me they arent suppose to take them back and they definitely wouldnt give me any form of refund or credit for him. At that point I knew I couldnt keep him if he was that unhappy so I just gave him to them. Over all it was a terrible experience that I wouldnt wish on anyone, especially someone with severe anxiety and panic disorders as this experience has caused me a good amount of emotional distress. Dont get me wrong they have good variety of food and toys but DO NOT get any animal from them, go to pet co on college as they have a 30 day guarantee and were much nicer about the whole situation when I needed to return the cage I bought from them.

Horrible customer service. Called today to request information on their fish return policy. Young man that answered the phone (Jamal..or something similar) stated the policy was 72 hours to return the fish. I advised the return policies for Petco (30 days) and Petsmart (14 days) and asked would they honor a longer policy...and remind you I have not purchased any fish yet. He said didnt know and the manager was not there but the "third-key" (assuming a manager) was there but she would not know the answer either, BUT he would ask her if I wanted. SERIOUSLY!!! I responded, "would that be a waste of my time for you to ask someone a question that you just previously told me they would not know?" Thanks, but I will take my business to another company. Also, I do think it takes longer than 72 hours to determine whether you have purchased a sick fish. What has happened to good customer service and companies standing behind their products/items the are selling? Seems to me Petco is the most confident in the fish that they are selling and their sales staff here in Wilmington is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I used to love this place. Until I came in last week to get a hamster. I got this black female bear hamster from them. They of course asked for my information and put it in their book. Well I got home and I noticed my hamster started acting sickly over the weekend. I called them today (5 days since I have gotten her) and they said I had to have the ORIGINAL receipt for them to do ANYTHING. Not the yellow slip, THE RECIEPT. So meanwhile I have wet tail drops and hopefully my little hamster will pull thru. Thanks pet supermarket for how "helpful" youve been. I will NEVER be back here for anything. And I have gotten rabbit food and one of my rabbits from here.. so congratulations pet supermarket you have lost a regular costumer.

They have sick guinea pigs and dont care at all. I tried to tell multiple associates that their pigs obviously have eye infections and upper respiratory issues. One girl picked the yellow cust off a baby pigs eye and said, "Oh, its fine." Its not fine. I went to an assistant manager who said the same thing and said they return sick pigs. Apparently they are not seen by a vet. I bought a baby pig out of sympathy for the poor little guy just to take it to the vet. A round of antibiotics and eye drops should help, but Ill never return to that store. Also, the open cages are not good for the animals or for the customers. I know there are signs saying, "beware, I bite."

Friendly and helpful ! I have been purchasing my dog food at Pet Supermarket for about 3 years now. When I first started, they advised me on how to purchase the correct food for my dog based on age, size and health. The food brands they carry are all more expensive than the cheap crap you get at the supermarket, but it is worth it. In just a few weeks my dog started looking healthier, leaner and his fur got shinier...even my friends made comments about it. The staff is always friendly and I notice them helping other customers with questions as well. I wont go anywhere else!
