The store had what I needed at a reasonable price. I was disappointed in the lack of effort and, in general, disinterest from store clerk Chris. I contacted the store by phone to see about changing a 12" tire on my sons bike. Both tube and outer tire were worn through. Chris indicated by phone that they were very busy with existing repairs and that I would need to leave the bike with them for several days. SEVERAL DAYS. FOR A BIKE TIRE REPAIR. I opted to drive to the store and purchase the tube and tire and do the job myself. When I arrived, I was surprised to see store clerk Chris all by himself in a very empty store with his nose buried in his phone. It wasnt exactly the mad house of retail purchases and urgent repairs that he described to me over the phone. On the contrary, quite vacant. I asked about the parts and he indicated that they were on the counter in the back of the store and I could go and retrieve them there, without once looking up from what must have been incredibly important computer work or perhaps Facebook posts I couldnt decider which. After I refused to go and get the part myself, Chris thought it better do actually do some work and get the parts for me. I learned to repair bike tires today so it wasnt a total loss. The repair took 20 minutes. I cant imagine it would have been any longer than a 10 minute job for a bike expert like Chris. So all in all I have to say that I am really disappointed that Chris deceived me like he did by portraying the store condition to be swamped and super busy when that simply wasnt the case. This was not a hard job and it would have been well worth a small charge to save me the 20 minutes and aggravation required to do the job myself. Will definitely look elsewhere for future bike repairs and purchases.

Ive been here numerous times and enjoy the place very much. Ive never been talked down to ever. In fact it was quite the opposite. I was brand new to cycling when I was shopping around. I checked out the other local bike shop, and they were pretty good too, but I just wasn’t as comfortable on their bikes as I was on the ones offered here. I was able to try bike after bike and even take them for a ride down the street and back. I was never spoken down to once and even when I asked all the stupid noob questions was treated very respectfully and got lengthy explanations. I understand where people are coming from when they said they were not helpful. When you go in you do not get jumped on and followed around, but once you start asking questions you get the help you want. A lot of people prefer this method (myself included). I ended up buying my Trek there and have bought everything there ever since. You can buy the same merchandise online, but you’ll be hard pressed to get the advice they offer. The one person that helps me almost every time is named Chris I believe, and has given me nothing but spot on advice every time. I am very happy with this place and would rate it well above average and remember if you visit and don’t feel like your getting the attention your wanting, just ask some questions. They can be very accommodating.

Looking for a new bike and stopped in here to have a look at the range. This store stocks a whole range of Specialized and Trek bikes, as well as bike accessories. Chris, the member of staff who assisted me, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Chris helped me with a number of different bikes and I got to ride a few out in the car park for a feel of the bikes. Although I was looking for a woman specific design bike (WSD), the stock they had in store for WSD was limited but they are able to have stock brought in as required. Unfortunately with the season, all bikes in the range I was looking at are sold out. However, I was not pressured into buying a bike I did not want, nor was I pressured into buying something that was part of their floor stock. I highly recommend this store for anyone looking at bikes in this area as their customer service is first class, they stock a good range, or are able to source a bike from their suppliers, and their staff are knowledgeable and courteous.

I bought a road bike from them a couple years ago, and from the first ride, the chain wouldnt stay in any of the middle 3 gears on the cassette, so I took it back for them to fix. Their mechanic was boasting about how he just spent 8 grand on some bike maintenance school out west, and it would be no problem for him to fix. When I picked it up a week later, the exact problem was still present, so I took it back in a couple days later for them to finally get my bike into working order. Between the initial assembly of my bike and the two other times I brought my bike in, they were unable to fix the problem. I took my bike to Hawleys and got it fixed within a couple days. They are the only Specialized dealer in town, and Im a Specialized fan, so now Ill go to Raleigh if there is anything I need from a Specialized dealer. And that mechanic should go get his 8 grand back because they didnt teach him how to fix bikes at his school.

I purchased my first bike at a competitors shop, and while I had no problems with them, I really "clicked" with the staff at The Bicyle Shop. Ive had numerous repairs done there, and theyve always accommodated MY deadlines, because they know I need the bike for commuting. When it was time to upgrade my bike, they took the time to listen to what I wanted and steer me towards what I needed, so I had no hesitation waiting for the model I wanted to become available and ordering it sight unseen. The discount I received on accessories based on the purchase price of my bike equipped me with shoes, clipless pedals, water bottles, and cages. Any returns Ive had have been fairly and equitable handled. In short, Ive been treated like a customer that they want to keep, and also help me to transition from a beginner to experienced cyclist. I highly recommend this shop to anyone that wants to be treated the same.

When I think about what I want in a trek dealership, this dealership is the gold standard. The staff is very user friendly and willing to help you in anyway. Ive purchased two Madones from them. My first one I crashed after about a year with it and broke it in half a week before race day. I walked in and told them the bike I wanted and frame size. It was the end of the season and the only bike left in the Untied States with my specs was all the way over in California. These guys paid the 300+ dollars to have it overnighted out of there pockets, gave me a grate price on the bike when I was expecting to pay more and then they had it built and tuned for me all with in 4 days. Pulse they hooked me up with a few goodies for my bike. I had a great 200 tour that weekend thanks to there efforts. When ever I come back to Fayetteville I always look forwards to walking in to The Bicycle Shop.
