The yardsale that they use to lure you in to buying a membership is what hit me wrong. The sale was today from 9:30-3:00. Driving 45 minutes to check it out and getting there right at 10 oclock there was a line to get in to it. I patiently waited almost 30 minutes when I overheard someone behind me talking of tickets to get in. I saw the gatekeeper of there event and Inquired about the needing tickets that I had overheard. I was told yes or I was not allowed in till 12. I left the yard sale line and went into the store to inquire more about this. I told the associate in the store that it was my first yard sale of theres that I have attended and neither their sign at the event or their webpage said anything about having to have tickets to get into the yard sale only a membership. He rudely told me I shouldve read the website better and that it was all clearly explained. I pulled up their website thinking maybe I missed it but what he spoke of was not there so I ask. He pointed to the time of the event that only showed the start and ending time with nothing about having to be there before the event starts to get a ticket to enter and said thats the way weve always done...have a great day. My opinion go across the shopping center and go to great outdoor provision company or get outdoors down below the coliseum. When they have a sale you dont have to buy a membership or be able to read minds to know what hoops you have to jump through just to attend.

I am more than pleased with the customer service I received at the Greensboro location. Seth was Extremely helpful and knowledgeable, even went as far as to set up a tent I was looking at so I knew exactly what I was getting. When I asked about an internal frame 65+ backpack he went as far as showing me several different bags and then loaded them down with 15+lbs so I could walk around with a simulated full pack. I have to point out that he never pushed anything and the pack that felt the best ended up being the cheapest of the 3 yes 3 packs that he weighted down for me. When I mentioned that I am preparing for an AT Thru-hike he introduced me to Marcus (one of the other people working the floor), Marcus had just completed a thru-hike and offered Priceless advice and information. I ended up filling a cart before I left the store and am confident that ALL the purchases I made are smart and well informed purchases. These Guys are AWESOME!!!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, who know the activities and interests that bring people to an outdoor equipment store. They are always willing to share their knowledge and experience. They carry great products that the store stands behind with an ironclad guarantee. Prices are a little more than some other places, but the customer service and product guarantee make it more than worth the extra money. I will be back, probably many times. I love just hanging out in this store!

I absolutely love REI. They have a great selection of outdoor gear, food and supplies for any adventure or trip. They have great cycling gear and equipment, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, camping, hiking and even spelunking! Get your energy bars, sunglasses, hiking hardware and binoculars here as well. Become a member and save and earn money in-store as well. the staff are the friendliest around and easy to work with.

REI is always good... great products... great warranties... friendly people, however... I use Samsung pay for all of my purchases and they now refuse to let me pay with Samsung pay even though i have been paying with Samsung pay at REI for a couple of years... makes no sense. It is much more secure than using a physical credit card... wake up, this is 2017.

Great Store...I went shopping for a gift and I had four employees come up to me and try and sell me on their REI Member Card. It was really annoying after the 2nd person. Even when I said I was not interested they kept persisting. Maybe they should have a store policy that only to annoy one person per employee.

Very nice store, and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The only downside is the regular prices are high, so I only shop sales. The anniversary sale on Memorial Day weekend generally a great time to get good deals, if you can handle the crowds. Same goes for the periodic yard sales of returned items.

Nice selection of hiking, camping and biking stuff. Basically, anything outdoors. The clothing selection is also very good with your usual North Face, Patagonia, REI brands. The prices are higher than other places so its good to buy when there is a sale. The returns policy is excellent.

The staff are very friendly and readily help the customers as well as each other. I even saw a top manager (or owner?) drop by the store to make sure the staff are happy and that there were enough people helping out. Also the place is incredibly clean, far better than competing stores.

What a VAST selection of hiking and outdoor equipment. The service is excellent and its so easy to spend several hours there without realizing it. Becoming a member is great perk...looking forward to the annual dividend.
