This is the 2nd time I have had concerns at the store. The 1st time, I purchased shoes for a race, I didnt open the box until the day of the race, and to my suprise they left the sensor on the shoe, so I wasnt able to do the race because of the start time was early and I was out of town so nothing was open to get more shoes. This time, I purchased my Mom shoes for Christmas, and she calls me to tell me that she has 2 left shoes in the box. Mind you it takes me almost 2 hours to get to her for Christmas, 2 hours to get the shoes back and it will take me another 2 hours to get the shoes back to her. The prices are great, but this company is costing me money. I know in the future cheaper is not better. I suppose both times, I should have checked the box, but when dealing with professionals in their field, I would think the Associates would check those things like they use to. Needless to say when I took the shoes back for exchange the young adults in the store have no regards for the mistake that was made by their company. No one said sorry or owned up to the mistake of the store, and I ended up having to cash out and go get shoes from another store. So sorry in advanced to the poor soul that has 2 right shoes from this Concord Academy store by Concord Mills. This will be my last time shopping with this compay, and I will not recommend them to family or friends.

Pretty upset with Academy Sports right now. I went in bright and early this morning to purchase a new pair of Adidas soccer boots (need them for this coming Saturday) and they didnt have my size. No worries.. I was just going to go look elsewhere when a store associate told me he can order them and have them shipped to my home overnight for $5. Great news! I went ahead and placed the order with him right then. I left the store feeling happy that I would have the boots I wanted before Saturday. That is, until I received and looked at my receipt via email and I noticed the shipping was 3-5 business days. I called customer support with the hopes of upgrading my shipping to overnight, or at the very least canceling the order so that I may place it myself online with the correct shipping option. In short, I was told I was SOL and that *hopefully* they will arrive on time. What a load of balls. I could have went elsewhere and saved myself the frustration. Now I have 2 options: 1. Pray they arrive on time. or 2. Go buy shoes elsewhere and return the ones I purchased from Academy when they do finally arrive. Its a situation that I shouldnt be in, however, I trusted the good word of the store associate whom seemed like he was going above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed on time. But he failed me horribly.

After searching online and calling the Main 888 number for info on my item I truly did not suspect to go through so much trouble when simply asking for the size of the packaging so that I would know if it would fit in my vehicle. The corporate line had already informed me that the Concord location currently had 23 of the trampolines I wanted and the price including tax. The first girl at the store was terrible. She didnt even listen my question before cutting me off to say she would check to see if they had any. When I told her that I knew they had some she transfered me. The next person that answered...... transfered me. Third person picked up the phone and then placed me back on hold without saying anything. Finally someone else answers to ask me what I was looking for (angry now) I repeat myself for the third time "Packaging size for the 12 foot JumpZone Trampoline!" Needless to say I am placed back on hold. Once she comes back to the line her and a male worker in the background fumble through some obvious observations such as "Well its 12 ft." and "Hmmmm. The box doesnt say if its 12 by 12." Finally they pacify me with a guess that it should fit in my car. This took 20 minutes to still not have a concrete answer before I drive to a store that is 20 minutes away. Terribly unsatisfied.

Came in and spoke to the manager Clint tonight. I told him that Eagle Guns a local competitor had the same handgun that Academy was selling for 749, at a price of 672. Same exact gun. Clint refused to match without calling Eagle . Since Eagle was closed, I was giving him the oprotunity to only match, not beat the price. 1st off Clint was not willing to talk to me on the phone and after holding for 15 minutes and asking for him repetitively, Joe the associate who seemed to care less said they were super busy tonight. I was two mins away at that point and told Joe I would just come on in. That was a waste of my time. Also, they were not busy at all... When I meet with Clint he told me hed have to call to verify, but since Eagle was closed he could not. It was 9:20 and Eagle closed at 9. I told Clint it was on Eagles website for him to verify the price. I told him I wanted to give him the opportunity to get the sale and he just stood there and said that was the companies policy . I took a picture of the gun department that clearly shows it was a ghost town and was shut down early I posted it to Academys of Concord site. It was obviuos that Clint was ready to just close up. I left disappointed and decided to purchase elsewhere.

Word of caution when shopping at Academy Sports. They have a VERY restrictive return policy that is only posted behind the customer service desk out of sight of customers. My wife purchased a pair of sunglasses that pinched her face. When I went to return them, the store refused and referenced the return policy sign that could not be seen by any customers. While in the store, another gentleman was trying to return an item and laughed that he was suppose to see the posted policy. After spending an hour in the store and talking to the customer service, I left the store with the sunglasses in hand. The best part is that the return policy (that you cant even read) stated the a list of sunglasses that can not be returned is suppose to be posted in the store and website (which it isnt). I was normally in the store once a week since both kids are active in sports but never again. Sports Authority is a minute down the road and has always treated us right. Think twice before you purchase a big ticket item from the store. Ask about their return policy because no one will tell what can be returned.

On 12/20/16, Academy sold us a new, in-box (not the floor model) treadmill, model ZT8, that was to be delivered that week. When the delivery guy went to pick it up (which we had to pay for separately), he found that the treadmill had been discontinued. It was not available when they sold it to us. The manager (and on 12/30 Customer Care) agreed they should have known it was unavailable when they sold it to us and agreed to sell us the next model up for the same price. 10 days later and they still dont have one for us or even one lined up, just more empty promises. In the 12/30 call, the "operations manager" had the gall to tell us that January was a very busy month, so he wasnt sure when theyd have one for us. Fifty minutes with "Customer Care" later that day got us exactly no where. Heres a hint for any business. Dont promise something you dont have and cant get, then switch the order to something you dont have and dont know when you can get it. It is now 12/31/2016. We dont even have a promise as to when they will call us back.
