Horrible Service! I went to the store this past weekend to purchase a grill. I knew exactly what I wanted and entered the store to specifically purchase a grill. I stood in the grill area for 25 minutes before I saw an associate to speak with. He made an announcement that a customer needed assistance in the grill area. Fifteen minutes later, two gentlemen associates walked by me talking and went out the back door. Five minutes later, they walked back in past me. Another ten minutes later, the same gentlemen that made an announcement walked by and asked if anyone helped me. I told him no. He went to retrieve the TWO SAME MEN THAT WALKED BY MY TWICE!! I asked them to get the grill I wanted to purchase. They returned and said they didnt have any in stock, but could sell the scratched, missing parts, display model for 10% off. NO, I dont think so..... I LEFT, upset....WITHOUT A GRILL.. THANKS for NOTHING!

For one I looked online for ammo and it said they had the ammo in stock and I called to makes sure before I made the hr long trip down there, so I get there they dont have it, so I i was a little upset, so I decided to look at a shotgun I wanted to purchase in the future and when handed it to me and I ask about the gun he couldnt give me much information beside its gun or its a shotgun, Just avoid the the bearded guy at the gun counter, I will continue shopping at the academy chains store, except the one in Florence, they have lost me as a customer and I will tell others to avoid the upset I went through

This is my favorite store in Florence. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They are willing to teach you about any of their products, give personal advice on many subjects including camping, or even just shoot the breeze with customers. The products are cheap and dependable. They regularly put items on clearance or markdown, which makes this the perfect store to go to if youre starting a new hobby. This is the best sporting goods store to go to in Florence hands down!

On 4.13.17 around 12:40 I went inside to buy a pair of sun glasses. However I walked out due to the customer service personnel being to LAZY to do their job. They acted like I was interrupting their conversation time. Im sorry for having to inconvenience someone to get a pair of sun glasses that are locked up.

Best prices in town out of the major sporting goods store. Dislike Academy as a coorprations lack of balls in standing up for 2nd amendment rights. But overall the store is nice, the employees are friendly and the prices are decent. Their price matching policy could use updating.
