Worst experience ever... first I walk in and the nice lady behind the counter says "you can just set your stuff here, theres only one person ahead of you," so I set my bags down and told her I had to go move my car (because they dont have a parking lot... no biggie, but kind of a pain when you are carrying bags of clothes in). I park my car, cross the street and walk back in... as soon as I walked in theres a different lady at the front who says "whos stuff is this," in a very rude tone. I reply "mine," she proceeds to tell me that they cant go through my stuff and that if I wanted to go through it and prioritize it, then they would go through one bag (I had 3). How would I know what you want to buy from me? Why do I have to go through my own stuff? I know what I have! I told her I wished I knew that before carrying it all in and moving my car. She tells me "fine, well go through it since you didnt know." She and another girl (who was a newbie) proceeded to go through my items the quickest Ive ever seen anyone do so... she literally was just taking it out of the bag and setting it down in the "no" pile. She kept a new pair of Lucky booties, some Banana Republic shorts, a couple shirts and a brand new Tart coat that had a $198 tag on it. I got a whopping $30 (thats sarcasm in case you didnt know). I couldnt believe it! She was calling out prices to the other girl, but I didnt realize it was the price they were selling it for, and not the price I was getting. When I was told my total, I asked what percentage I was getting and she couldnt even tell me. She was so rude and condescending, and it was very embarrassing standing there watching her pass every single item without even looking at it. Spare yourself the embarrassment and rude attitudes, and go to Clothes Mentor on Kings Drive... they are much nicer, give you more for your items, and you dont have to stand there and watch them go through it and feel rejected lol.

OK so I thought this would be a good place to get rid of some unwanted items in my closet instead of just giving to Goodwill , you know get a little extra cash for some nice items. WELL I WAS WRONG AND IT WAS A COMPLETE WAIST OF TIME!! I WAS SOOO DISAPPOINTED! I had some nice stuff, Lacoste shoes,H&M clothing, and even items still with tags and of all the items I had they settled for a pair of old run down Levis shoes that I was sure I would be dropping off at GoodWill. Compared to the stuff they have on the shelf I knew I had a couple nice things but not to their employee who was new by the way and probably had no idea of what she was doing because she had to keep asking the lady next to her "what do you think about this?" I hate to say it but I think it was a racial thing cause the guy next to us had unauthentic jerseys, leather jeans and Vans and was making a killing !! There sense of "fashion" is bullshit and I will never waste my time again.

Best Consignment shop in Charlotte, I am a stylist for editorials etc. and I can find expensive name brands here for prices as low as $10 bucks for clothing and as low as $20 for shoes!!! Well worth it since a lot of models have size ten feet, hard to find cheap designer shoes for! Also, they are friendly, know me by name, help me find items, and on my birthday gave me a coupon which was really sweet. I will say it is hard to sell your clothes to them, I have all name brand clothing, in season, lightly used or not used at all, and washed, and they only took maybe one or two pieces, because the choice also depends on what the buyer thinks is sell-able, so nothing can be definite when based on opinion, so make sure your items are winners! In a nutshell, Not the place to sell all the time but definitely the place to buy everyday!!!!

Buffalo Exchange is a decent place to get outfits for last minute and cost-sensitive occasions. I did not give them five stars only because their staff is extremely off-putting if you visit the store usually within the first half hour of opening and especially within the last half hour of closing. Today I went in 15 minutes prior to close to quickly browse their dresses and was not welcomed or even acknowledged when I walked in. It was clearly inconveniencing them. When I went to try on a dress within 10 minutes of close I was discouraged from trying it on and reminded they close in 10mins. I understand wanting to get home but the store was not closed and I know how to manage my time. So decent store, poor customer service.

Ive never sold to them but I found a nice Columbia raincoat for like 10 bucks and they always have nice stuff. Also I would have bought Abercrombie and Tommy Hilfiger like 10 years ago i.e. Buffalo exchange knows what theyre doing. Also I know most of the people that work there and theyre not racists at all in fact theyre some of the nicest people Ive ever met. They always are willing to help and have great taste in clothes. Sincerely, Jahboi Skritt P.S. Waste* Mine* They were* Their* P.S. why would you sell $300 dollar shoes to a consignment/thrift shop expecting to get almost the same price. Yeah like Im going to buy a video game for $60 bucks then turn around and sell it at Gamestop for $50. GTFO!

I have gotten some really cute stuff here! I can understand the frustration of some of the sellers here, but this store caters to a few specific fashion tastes (hippies/hipsters/artists/punks). Its located in one of the art districts of the city and is trying to keep the image alive as things develop within and around it. But anyway, I dress very hippie-ish and have no issue finding one or two things I really love when I visit this place. They also have several nice things marked half off, so they become more like Goodwill prices. Im a huge fan of secondhand stores and this has quickly become my favorite simply because it suits my style the most forwardly and is easy to shop through.

It seems like theres someone new working at this location every month, which is reflected in their buying policy. I brought in a dozen vintage shirts, a pair of like new Armani Jeans, Polo Sport swim trunks and passed on them all saying they werent "in style". They mentioned that there was some wear on the 1982 Spring Break shirts. Wear on 34 year old shirts? You dont say? Yet I go to the rack to find shirts with an incredible amount of self-inflicted de stressing for $25? Buffalo Exchange has/had a change to help usher Vintage styling into Charlotte but continues to cater to the Supreme/Forever 21 crowd.
