I’m am local college student who has been shopping at value village on freedom Dr. for about a year since I relocated here for school. The cheap prices and valuable stuff made value village one of my favorite stores being that I am in college it was very affordable, but recently my visit there has altered my opinion and has caused me to question their customer service tactics. I found two pretty sweaters and a business dress a few days ago and was content with my selection and the price of it. once I got to the register the clerk commented on my choice and proceeded to lift each item to punch in its price into the register while lifting one of the item tag fell off and she immediately told me that she could not let me purchase this, and quickly threw it to the side, before I could begin to question why she lifted the next item roughly and knocked that price tag off as well and told me she could not let me purchase this one either, this time I jumped at the opportunity and questioned her why? she answered with its our policy not to sell item without a price tag, after I and my witness who purchased something clearly stated that the tag was on there when I gave the items to her and explaining that this was not good customer service, she called the manager to the front, who did a poor job of representing the company explaining that she could not sell me these items even after my witness explained that he also saw the clerk knock the tag off and that I would have to wait until sometime tomorrow after they’ve been repriced and put back on the racks.. Outraged I told them that I did not want anything and left, I returned shortly asking them if they could restaple the price tags to the items or if I could get some kind of guarantee if I make another trip out to the store the next day that the items would be waiting for me. By this time there was another manager on call and the first one had gone home. while I waited to talk to him I overheard him helping another customer who pleaded with him for a discount on a pair of sneakers that were originally $6 down to $2 she told him that she did not have much money but really wanted the shoes, she was also in a wheel-chair after going back and forth with the lady he allowed her to leave the store purchasing the shoes for only $2.14 she thanked him and left. then I explained to him what happened earlier and asked him if there was anything that he could do in his power to help he repeated that the other manager had left and that he wasn’t even up here when it occurred, that he didn’t know where she had place the items and that they couldn’t hold them for me or give me a store number or take mine. He didn’t make any efforts to help me, such as he had helped the customer before me, before leaving and after realizing that I wasn’t going to get justice here, I had explained the importance of good customer service and how he just represented it with the customer before me, I went on to say that I have been a faithful customer, who has been shopping here for about a year and has also brought value village plenty of business through my college friends who doesn’t deserve this unfair treatment. The manager replied back with "look around, we have no customer service ".I then left telling everyone involved and not involved to have a nice day. Because of this Value Village has forever lost two customers and the business we had brought with us before and whoever else I tell of what occurred., I would hope that from now on they think about their morals and the type of customers’ they would like to keep and bring in.

Terrible customer service. Got to the checkout, and there was a teenage guy sitting on checkout counter (but he scooted down a few inches so I could put my stuff on it too) flirting with the cashier. After awhile, he asked for her number, and she proceeded to give it to him, twice, and then talk about what shes doing for the week...meanwhile he got off the counter and stood close to her and touched her a couple times. During checkout, I had trouble with a price tag that had apparently come off, and she claimed she couldnt sell it to me. I flagged down another cashier (mine was still busy flirting) and she took it to the back and got me a new tag. The "couple" eventually (finally!) wrapped up with a long good-bye hug - behind the counter, with I (and my young daughter) standing there. After all this, she asked for my credit card, then just walked away. I realized after watching her that they must have only one card-swiping machine, and it was apparently behind the other register (where she took her time talking to the other cashier for awhile before bringing back my card). I was appalled at the rudeness of this cashier, and will not be back. Pricing was rather random, some things at good prices, some things definitely not. Be careful when shopping here as I found a number of clothing items with obvious stains and holes. It seems they accept and put out everything.

I fell in love with the Value Villages in Atlanta and visited whenever I went to visit my family who lived there. Upon moving to Charlotte, I was SO excited to see they have them here too. I have now visited several, and I must say they have fallen short compared to their Georgia stores. I LOVE vintage and the thrill of a great find, and when I saw vintage items priced $30+ I was curious and after a little research, found that they look on ebay and price their vintage accordingly... UNBELIEVABLE! For those looking to donate your items, please go to a Habitat or charity thrift store instead of aiding the profits of this totally degenerate chain.

For men, there are tons of shirts (and ties)....the Central Ave store has HIGHER prices for the same things, cause i bought a certain jacket with logo on the outside and it was 25% higher at the Central location the following week. The store in Mooresville is big, spacious, and lots of stuff. Not crowded the Sat I was in there.

You can definitely find some awesome deals and some real Treasures here. They do have off all clothes once a month. One major drawback would be they usually dont have enough carts during their sale days , and they dont have a good checking out system.
