Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly! We were pleased not only with the doughnuts & coffee but with the atmosphere. We spoke with several people who worked there and everyone was easy to get along with but most importantly positive & pleasant. As for the grub, there was examples in the case but also a menu which helps for us first timers. They still even explained some of the more exotic doughnuts (stuffed with snickers, pop tarts etc.) The iced cafe latte was delicious not too sugary to help wash down the fruity pebbles, cinnamon toast crunch, cookie crisp & maple bacon. This is our new favorite place in Wilmington and is already decidedly a new tradition for us! Thank you guys for the great experience!

Came to this donut shop after learning Brits Donuts had closed for the season. I had high hopes after reading all the rave reviews but I must admit I was left disappointed. I paid nearly $9 for 6 of their "specialty" donuts which all LOOKED very appealing and showed some creativity in their inception. Unfortunately, as far as actual taste is concerned, the donuts were lacking. The donuts themselves were large but dry and chewy with no real flavor to be had. I would honestly rate these about on the same level as Dunkin Donuts from any local gas station. They are alright but definitely not someplace I will frequent again.

Just went to their downtown location that opened today (10/7/16). I got a big order for everyone at my office. The staff was awesome, and we are tearing into 12 donuts and 3 apple fritters. I was going to list some highlights, but all flavors I got (Cinnabomb, Carolina Sand, PB Get Bizzy, Wake N Bacon, Butterfinger Bash, Pebble Rock, Strawberry Cheesecake, Key Lime Crush, Couch Potato, and Espresso High) are all incredible, and the coffee is delicious! Having this downtown might hurt my pockets.

Im not a person who really likes sweats so much but when you get a taste for something sweet this is the place. Be prepared to wait in line no matter what time of day you go. There are loads of doughnuts to choose from and each doughnut looks and tastes great. I really like the Wake N Bacon doughnuts. I cant say much more about this place other than its packed all of the time and the doughnuts are worth the wait. I highly recommend trying out Wake N Bake Doughnuts.

Disappointing. Cold, thick and bready donuts with little flavor. Reminded me of Dunkin Donuts with a bunch of absurd toppings. Not worth the calories! Friendly staff but I guess Ive been spoiled by Britts and Duck Donuts, which are amazing and FRESH. The store also had a dirty feel to it. Dirty toilet and the napkin holders needed cleaning, which was a turn off. I only gave it two stars because my kids liked it but then again, theyll eat anything, lol....

Forget what you THINK you know about doughnuts. These are the best doughnuts I have ever put in my mouth. Not because of the topping, which are very unique and cool, but because the doughnuts themselves are divine! Not soft and fluffy cheap doughnuts........strong, hearty doughnuts with fantastic flavor. The service is great, they know how to move the line, save you money and come to this place.

Excellent customer service with awesome donuts. I was greeted by a very friendly young man who answered all my questions and made excellent suggestions. The donuts are awesome and reasonably priced!! I am so happy to find a donut shop who understands that donuts are supposed to be light and airy with a tiny bit of crunch when you bite into them. I will definitely be back.

While on vacation last week, we wanted something besides bacon and eggs etc. I had heard of folks talk about this amazing donuts place... sounded akin to my Pacific North West friends Voodoo Donuts. Its pretty much the same thing! Insane topping combinations abound, and one doughnut was super filling! I tried and would recommend the ButterFinger Bash & Maple Bacon.

THE absolute BEST donut in NC! No others come close. Other excell with glaze, but these are true works of art. Ask anyone who has had Wake N Bake what their favor donut Is... Wait while they think, it may be awhile or if they gibe you a quick answer hold tight it will be followed by another recommendation they also love. Spoiler: they are ALL.incredible!. Best in NC!

We started coming here when it opened but now that they have the second location and donuts are made off site they just arent as good as they used to be. Also when they first started there was much more variety in what they have had. Now the stuffed donuts barely have enough cream for one bite. I would no longer recommend and would like to be contacted by a manager.

Visited WNB because we were tired of the islands other donut shop. The atmosphere is great here and the donuts were decent. You can get your basic glazed donut or go for the crazy donuts like one that has a whole snickers bar in it. I tried the vegan chocolate covered one and the flavor was decent, but I probably wouldnt order it again.

Hands down the BEST specialty donut shop around. This is the kind of place you want to go to start your day of with a little kick. Staff at the WakeNBake is friendly and welcoming. I had the Maple Bacon donut which was amazing. If your trying to think of somewhere to get a good donut look no further and stop at WakeNBake!!!!

The best donuts Ive ever had. Carolina Sand is a masterpiece. Wake N Bake is a very creative and awesome donut shop in Carolina Beach, and I am a frequent customer. Since theyve opened the Downtown location, I will be splitting my time, but during the summer I will almost definitely be here much more. Love this place!!!!!!

I was recommended here from a restaurant staff member and it was towards the end of the night. The donuts were under done and not good. They had been sitting all day in the display window where the guy pulled them from. They were dry on the edges and nasty in the center. I would not tell people to go here.

Vacationing at Carolina Beach and the crew craved donuts. Couldnt pass up the reviews and showed up at 6:30am when the doors opened. Absolutely amazing. The vibe is hip and you can tell these guys do what they do with passion. You cant go wrong here. This might be the best donut shop weve ever been to.

UNBELIEVABLE donuts!! We love Britts, but this is just a different deal. Tons of variety and just delicious! Cant go near there without having to have some! My husband is bringing some home tomorrow and Im already dreaming about them. Good thing we dont live there or I would end up gaining some lbs.

I love all the creative flavors they offer here! Ive never had a bad pastry from here. The fruity pebble doughnuts are my favorite, but you cant go wrong with any of them. My only complaint is if you dont get more than a few they put them in a bag and if they have a wet toppings it can get messy.

Coffee is great and the donuts are fabulous! I recommend splitting one with your sweetie! We tried the CinnaBomb and Wake n Bacon. The CinnaBomb was our favorite but the Wake n Bacon was good, too! Very cute and cozy place and the perfect place to stop and get a bite on your way back home.
