I ordered a dozen donuts from this place after hearing how great they are. They were undercooked and soggy. Also, the place is poorly put together. The donuts, which are only one flavor--cider--were piled on a pan in a room that doubled as bakery and dirty office. The person working the counter was watching Malcom in the Middle, and when I ordered the donuts-- he slowly got up, put a box together (maybe you should have done that before a customer arrived) and put the soggy awful donuts in the box. Then, to charge my credit card he had to manually type the numbers into the computer (what the heck? No receipt btw). I left, thoroughly unimpressed with the shop and service, but ready to have some awesome donuts. I took a couple bites, my wife took a couple bites, and the dozen went right in the trash. What a waste.

I spent some time in Charlottesville a while back and had to exercise some serious restraint to prevent addition to these donuts! They taste beautiful, fresh and so light, with the perfect amount of slightly crunchy sugar on the outside. I love that theyre an organic, local business too - we dont get much of that in the UK! The business itself has a lovely-seeming ethos, and from seeing their cart at fairs around C-ville I know Carpe Donut business is like a little local family. Cant recommend these guys enough.

My wife and I have been big fans for a number of years, and when we took the opportunity to purchase a dozen of these delicious donuts, their taste always made our day. However, those days look to be gone. Not sure what has happened, but the donuts taste different, as if the formulation has changed. The last two times, while the "new" donuts do not taste bad, they no longer illicit the excitement they once did. As they say, "fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me." We wont be shamed again.

I hired Carpe Donut for my wedding in May, and they were AMAZING! Everyone raved about our delicious donut truck, and I still am hearing about it today! They were great to work with, and have a fabulous product. We used them instead of having a wedding cake, and I was so happy!

Carpe Donut is AMAZING! The donuts are awesome, the staff is super friendly, the prices are great and the location is convenient! Visiting them in the mornings before work (whether to grab a donut or just say hi) is pretty much the highlight of my week!
