I have been shopping there for 3 years. I have purchased ground beef that was bad on more then 1 occasion. The "blood" that makes it look fresh appears to be mostly coloring. I have opened some that you could smell right away was bad, and some that looked ok, only to smell very sour, almost like vinegar when cooking. A sign of bad beef. I have purchased packages of "store" chicken that were triple wrapped (I now know why) and when opened at home smelled so bad it made you gag! I also have brought packages of cheese up to the CS counter that were extremely moldy. I was told that their employees would have found it during routine inspections. When, once a year? It took that cheese a considerable amount of time to get that moldy! I have purchased butter (on more then 1 occasion) that when unwrapped is VERY yellow and has an odor. Icecream that has been melted, and frozen again. I have purchased all of these items more then once, because every store has an off day. But It stills remains uncertain as to what you will get on any given day, so I no longer purchase meats, butter, or any of the aforementioned products. I work way too hard to waste my money not to mention the risk to my familys health. I have also purchased boxed, canned and packaged goods that were expired! And in case anyone is wondering, I purchase any meat I use, the day I am going to use it. Are there no health inspections any more?

Horrible store. Do not shop here. I have lived less than a mile from this store through all the changes for a decade now. This is ano pathetic excuse for a grocery store. Poor selection, the meat, bakery and produce departments are frequently out of products. Packs of chicken are filled with water then weighed. I paid for 8.5 ounces of chicken juice on my last purchase. The seafood counter always smells of rotting old fish. The bakery manager carries loaves of bread under his arms out to the display shelves. The checkout lines are slow and long. The customer service counter is a joke. Staff will ignore your presence until theyre done having a conversation with another associate. They still dont have a self checkout area. Cashiers quit in the middle of ringing up customers and walk out. The hot food buffet is expensive and disgusting, usually bland, dried out, over priced garbage. The parking lot is a demolition derby waiting to happen. People often park in fire zones with no repercussions. Garbage, carts, and debris go unchecked. The majority of employees here are young (less than 18 years old) overwhelmed and under paid. I drive way out of the way to shop at Gaint food store in Bartonsville, PA to avoid this horrible establishment. Also the 2 in store photos here are NOT from this store! Dont be fooled!

Store is neat and clean and manager works his ass off. Thats why I have zero respect for the owner as every time I see him in the store hes huffing and puffing and pissed about something. I rarely go in there anymore since the manager cant have two minutes to talk to me, and at Christmas time, as I was actually having a conversation with the manager,The owner comes over and just starts dictating to the manager like I was not even there. Just goes to show its not about the customer but how much profit he can put in his pocket. Corporate owned business have thier issues, but working for independents seems to be worse. I wont even start about the riiculous parking lot. But when you own every store on the property, and I think its like that in Daleville too (not sure), what does the owner care?

I have been a Shoprite shopper for many years. Ive been to many shoprites and I have to say that the Mount pocono location is the worst. I return expired food constantly. All of the chicken I buy is old even though the expiration date is a few days away. As soon as I cook it the smell of spoiled chicken emerges. All of the red meat expires the same day. The older woman who works in the meat department is extremely rude to all customers who ask her questions. I have purchased expired baby food that is placed in front as if they had just put out the stock. When you return expired foods they dont apologize or give you a reason how something like that could happen. Ill be shopping at Giant from now on. Its farther to me and more expensive but the food isnt old.

The deli is usually the downfall here. They are slow as a rule and some of the deli employees are more worried about gossip and other things than the customers. Other than that, the only other place that is lacking is the fish department. usually covered by the deli as they dont usually seem to have it staffed properly. Otherwise, good deals throughout the store. Well stocked commonly, and helpful people. Nice hot bar and from what I can tell, the best local Chinese and sushi in Mount Pocono, Tobyhanna, area. (The best sushi in the Poconos I have had to date is Satos) now that is saying a lot when you think about it. So stop on in and get a lot of your shopping done for a good price and even have lunch or breakfast while your at it.

Most of the people are pleasant and they usually have many registers open. But when it comes to seafood the manager isnt exactly nice. I asked her a simple question if they received crawfish since we ordered them two weeks ago. She barely acknowledged me. She said she had to wait on the customers in line before she could check. For the next 15 minutes she continued to put the order away rather than waiting on the customers. After she was done with them she never actually answered my question. Then later I told all she had to do was look at the invoice form to see if it was in the order. Apparently she didnt have a minute to do that for me.

Ive been to many Shop-rites, but the one in Mt. Pocono is the worst. Believe it or not, I think, the employees there couldnt even get a job at walmart. The workers are slow, foul mouthed, uneducated, idiots. None of them seem to want to work. I hate going in there. Sometimes, I am forced to go in there, only because its right there on my way home and I am too tired to drive the extra mile to the Weiss. Those kids that work there need a reality check. If I were corporate I would fire all of them and start new..... PS... Any good review you read is probably from employees. Do not go there is you dont have to.

This shoprite is not the best. Mainly there are no prices on 50% of the stuff. They also play the game where they will have a really good sale on something and then put a different size or different brand of the item under the sale sign. Then if you dont watch as they are checking you out, you will never know that you paid at times double for the stuff you thought you were getting on sale. You have to really pay attention when checking out or you will get ripped off. This shoprite just went down hill in the last few years. Go to the shoprite in Broadheadsville, its like night and day.
