Wilmington has a really great selection of doughnut shops and The Donut Inn might just be my favorite. Its a very clean, warm and modern shop, with very friendly help every time I been. Whereas other places in town excel in their one particular type of doughnut, Britts, or their wild, unique flavors, Wake and Bake, Donut Inn excels with a great execution of more traditional flavors. Youll find jelly doughnuts with powdered or granulated sugar, blueberry cake, Maple iced, Boston cream, old fashioned, glazed, apple cider, white iced, strawberry iced; way too many to name, but it gets the point across. The dough is soft and light, every doughnut Ive had has tasted extremely fresh, and I have never gotten any taste of artificial flavorings in any that Ive tried, just really fresh, homemade taste. One drawback: Ive taken my Dad twice, and while he loves the doughnuts as well, he said the coffee was definitely nothing impressive. Im not a coffee drinker, so I didnt reflect this in my 5 stars, but something to keep in mind for those who are.

I came here for their breakfast wraps and they had this awesome Boarshead chipotle sauce at the tables or behind the counter that you could put on them. I asked the owner why the girl working there said they were all out of it? He said we arent out of it I stopped buying it because people where stealing the sauce and its really expensive! He seemed angry and arrogant. I told him it taste bland without it and he got mad and said there is nothing he can do about it. The boarshead chipotle sauce is just too expensive. So if you just like salt and pepper this is your place to eat! I own a hotel and people take toilet paper but I dont stop putting TP in the rooms because people steal them. Its part of business. And you have to make the customer happy. There are (2) other donut shops open now right across the street. "Rise" and "Duck Donuts" guess I will take my money there instead.

Great vibes, delicious food, special locally-owned touch, and the pinnacle of donut perfection! If youre looking for the best donuts in Wilmington, the state of NC, or quite possibly the entire US, look no further. I stopped by The Donut Inn with friends for lunch and we were all blown away by this place. Wide variety of fresh-delicious donuts, made to order hand crafted sandwiches & wraps, and incredible coffee & specialty coffee options that will beat out your favorite coffee shop. The owners are local, take every opportunity to make you feel at home, and have big hearts for giving back to the community. Whether you live in Wilmington or are visiting on vacation, The Donut Inn is the donut, breakfast, coffee, and lunch spot youre looking for that will satisfy the whole family.

Excellent sandwiches and donuts. The only thing I was disappointed with on the sandwich menu was the lack of full deli meat and cheese options. They limit to chicken breast, turkey, bacon, ham and five cheeses. The triple cheese grilled cheese is wonderful with bacon on panini. Really richly wonderful cake donuts and fluffy puffed donuts. On Saturday at noon theyre packed. Its a limited selection of their bottled cold drinks but they do have a Coca Cola fountain. Theyve got reasonable prices and fast, friendly servers. They have a limited selection, but they are getting it right.

We were referred here by my mother-in-law and I must say, this place is incredible. The friendly banter and hospitality greets you as you walk through the door and lasts your entire stay. This was our first visit and the array of in-house prepared donuts was quite the variety! Allen, the co-co-owner, personally took our order and even threw in a bonus for our son as a first visit complimentary donut! The donuts were delicious and my wife enjoyed her coffee as well! We look forward to trying their breakfast and lunch sandwiches next! Stop by and you will not be disappointed!

This was our first time we had been there so we were unaware that they closed at 3pm because the open sign was on so we walked in at 3:08pm. Which most people would have been like we are close and had you leave but instead we were told that they had just donated all the donuts left for the day but we could have some donut holes for free since we had wanted donuts. After leaving my husband, two girls and I tried them and fell in love with both the chocolate and blueberry will be going back couldnt have asked for better service or food.

What an amazing experience!!! I was in Wilmington on a business trip and stopped to pick up some donuts for the office and breakfast for myself. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their delicious donuts. Alan, one of the owners greeted me and made everyone feel like guest in his home. He really goes the extra mile to make his regulars and his first time customer (like me) feel like old friends. Definitely not a spot to be missed in Wilmington.

When looking for a great donut shop in town, this out of town Brooklynite (New Yorker) found donut heaven at The Donut Inn. The friendly owners greater us and the donuts were delicious. After ordering our familiar flavors, they offered one of their favorites the Sour Cream Donut. It was crunchy on the outside and moist and cakey on the inside. We also recommend the glazed mini croissant. My daughter favorite part was The Donut Warmer.

Yes they have good donuts and sandwiches. My problem is they always forget to add something like cheese to the sandwich. They arent very good at taking orders or the cook doesnt pay attention to whats being requested. Also they should really put more meat on the breakfast and lunch sandwiches, they are a little pricey and it would help if they beefed up their sandwiches.

I work in Landfall and often people bring them to us :) I stopped buy this morning to try there Bagels and they were of course amazing, fresh out the oven !!! Just wish owner open one more location, some where closer to Carolina Beach or Monkey Junction area.

Ive been here a few times and love the donuts. Theyre not overly sweet like Krispy Kreme. Today I wanted to try something new, they man recommended sour cream, sounded odd but I thought why not? Must day one of the best donuts Ive had. Its got a nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside, very delicious!

Literally so unexpectedly amazing. I went in here just because I needed a quick lunch and just had an INCREDIBLE turkey, pesto, tomato, and provolone sandwich on a bagel. SO good and I havent even tried a donut yet.
