I visited there this past weekend when I was in town for a concert. I live about 2 hours away so I figured I would check the place out. I am a collector (1100 games, around 60 systems) and this store REALLY appeals to folks like me they have a great selection and many of the prices were very reasonable. In this day and age I dont HAVE to go into a game store to buy games. I love going for the experience and while this store DOES have a lot of cool stuff to look at I was still very disappointed with my time there. I probably spent around 15 minutes looking around and no one bothered to even acknowledge me. It wasnt busy there was one other customer having a conversation with a gentleman behind the counter and another worker came out a few moments later. Now Im not an ego-maniac or anything i dont need everything to be about me but a simple greeting or maybe asking if i was finding everything ok would have been nice, and lets face it thats not really asking a lot. Its like retail 101. I ended up leaving without buying anything and was bitterly disappointed. Its a bit of a drive but had it gone differently i would have liked to take a trip there semi-frequently to add to my collection. I cant say i have any reason to make the trek back as I can get the same experience online and while some of the more local shops dont have that kind of selection, they at least will say SOMETHING when i walk into their store and i wont feel so uncomfortable. My wife, who was sitting in the car said the workers made a remark as i left that i didnt shut the door. I honestly didnt notice that when i left their door didnt shut correctly. I didnt hear the comment personally as i was on the other side of my vehicle which was parked in front at the time. This wasnt the reason I disliked my time there but it certainly didnt surprise me. Ill be in Syracuse again in about a month but i wont be stopping in.

Im nearly 30 and have been gaming and shopping at the local game stores since I was a kid. As I grew up, places like Microgame and Game Craze became my game stores of choice since my gaming interests extended beyond just the current games, but back into the retro games on older systems, which these stores had. Im a collector, so shops like these are my favorite. Much to my surprise as my wife and I were downtown last year, there was a new video game store. The sign and colors of the store popped out and the place looked clean. The place was Voltage Video games. Now, nearly a year later, this has become my game store of choice. They dont always have every game you are looking for in stock, but the nature of a mom and pop style game store is that you are at the mercy of what is brought in from local gamers, and Syracusans have definitely brought some hard to find classics through the doors of Voltage. The best things about Voltage are the service and the prices. The service, which when compared to Game Craze is like staying at the Hilton compared to Super 8, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are very competitively priced, for both purchases and trade ins, and they do their research in Syracuse to make sure you are getting the best prices around. I highly recommend checking out Voltage and will continue to shop there for as long as the store graces my home city, which will hopefully be a very long time.

Loved the store! I was visiting Syracuse and checked out the store about 20 minutes before closing. The store had tons of retro games availible. Ive never seen a store hold multiple copies of Final Fantasy VII like this one had. I was in there up until closing and nobody tried to rush me out. I picked up Devil May Cry 3 and since the regular version wasnt availible they gave me the special edition for the price of the regular. I will definitely be coming back anytime I visit Syracuse, NY.

This store is great. The owner is very nice and some of the employees. I only had one employee that was rude to my son and I but 99% of the time they make everything pleasant. Great products and they are guaranteed. I will always shop there first before i go to another venue like ebay. im actually going there today for my sons birthday. Thanks guys love your store!

I wrote a full length review a while ago. Seems the owner is trying to hide it from his google page. Head to my G+ page to read it. Also when trading here... Ask for prices on each and every item. I forgot that in my review. But I think the idiots did not even add up some of the stuff I traded in. Just took it with no receipt or proof of pricing.

I bet it would have been nice to go in here, but the one day that I come to Syracuse to shop for wii games is the one day they are closed, nothing on the website or google about them being closed only this MONDAY. Not sure who doesnt open on a Monday. Guess Ill go to game stop.

Voltage has a very friendly, knowledgeable staff that will be more than happy to assist with a trade or purchase. Their stock is great and fairly priced. The trade value seems to be much better than other similar stores too. Viva La Voltage!

Their site is down so I cant call to find out if they have something in stock, and that long haired guy Steve cant finish his breakfast like a real man. I guess the terrorists won.
