This was an amazing Holiday event sponsored by the Brainery. Having a go around, and looking at all the local vendors that participated really gave me a sense of community here in Rochester. From vendors like Circuit Breaker Labs to Just Terrific, there really was something for everyone. It was nice to see Village Gate actively participating along-side with local vendors if not by a booth, then by a class. Speaking of classes, what an awesome ALL DAY experience attending them. Ten super thumbs-up goes out to the Roc Brewing Company, who did an amazing job catering the event. The guests really enjoyed all the samples, and it made their "Brainery" experience that much more stimulating. Now on to the classes that I participated in..... Holiday How-To with Tiny Fish Printing- This was a unique opportunity to see how the printing business works by using Christmas Cards. Tony who represented Tiny Fish did a great job of leading this class, and making sure everyone was following the same direction. I never knew how fun it could be making cards from scratch, and getting all dirty with paint. Tony is a talented shirt maker/printer, worth checking out at Tiny Fish, Holiday How-To with Model Martini- words can not express how much in love I was with this class. It was like I died, and went to Martini heaven. Cora with Model Martini created a more pro-active approach to teaching the class. She made sure everyone was going to at least make their own Martini. My favorite part was shaking it all together. She gave you some really great ideas of making your own martinis at your next future house party. Holiday How-To with Get Caked - after a whole day of classes, I NEEDED to finish off with this one. Get Caked already is well known in Village Gate for making some amazing pastries. Now we were all ready to Get Caked with Kelly leading our class. She brought out cookies pre-baked for all of us to frost. It was hard trying to pay attention, while not eating the delicious frosting at the same time. Kelly did an suburb job of teaching the class different techniques with making different cookies. Overall: cool vendors, Village Gate, awesome classes, Roc Brewing Company, Christmas Cards, Martinis, and Cookies...I WILL BE BACK!!!

Wow the Village Gate is the place to be! Great selections of restaurants and now new boutique retail stores and services. Great venue for events on the second floor. Recent additions of massive parking lots and new building adds even more business to the Village Gate. A safe place to dine or due business in the heart of the city. Only one block from the Auditorium Theater. You need to explore Village Gate!

Fun, quirky location in the Neighborhood of the Arts. In the front of the building are offices and apartments. In the back are shops and restaurants. Salenas has delicious Mexican food at a moderate price. To save money, order ala carte or split the Mexican Flag. Gate house has a $12 cheeseburger, but its delicious. The shops are eclectic.

One of the best collections of restaurants in Rochester, certainly for diversity of choice. Salinas has great Mexican, California Rollin is perfectly decent if youre into McDonalds of sushi (McDonalds can taste good). The Brazilian steakhouse we found to be excellent, despite mixed reviews. All in all, a great location with many good choices.

We had our wedding ceremony here on the second floor, in front of one of the light boxes, and were so pleased with how it turned out. The property manager worked with us before the ceremony to ensure that everything went smoothly and the place was clean and full of art on our big day. A unique location with a special Rochester history.

Village Gate is a very unique place. It contains many lofts, dining options, and unique locally owned businesses in a warehouse type industrial/modern setting. It is a treasure of this area and truly is a must visit space, if not for anything else, but the experience and views inside.

Great restaurants. ..check out RICE a restaurant designed by students decorated by students, run by students and student serviced. Help support our educational program while enjoying great food of an Island flavor with Caribbean and Puerto Rican influence. AWESOME!

Always liked this place, now many restaurants to choose from. Parking has become very difficult, they removed parking spots for grass and curbs when they added additional buildings. Do now they have more places of business and less parking.

Little hidden gem in the Art district of Rochester. Love the restaurants that you can find here. Dont let the front deceive you, it looks like the place is closed down but if you walk inside youll wand all the restaurants.

Fantastic restaurant selections will leave you wanting to return for your next meal. There are also a variety of speciality shops that offer a wide range of items that you wont find elsewhere.

They keep trying to improve the place. They need to get some anchor stores. Something that will draw people more. I like the facility. Great restaurants. Neat little stores.

The building and shops are nice. Or lunch at California Rolling was good (food was excellent but some of the stuff ordered was not delivered). Parking was hard to find.

Love coming to the Village Gate. Great restaurants and unusual shops. Also, the best cupcake shop ever - Get Caked is located inside. A must if stopping in.

Very busy shopping center. Always has foot traffic in or out. Right next to the memorial art gallery. Mostly food, but some very eclectic shops are inside.

Fun place with lots of interesting things to do, shops and restaurants. The only drawback are the offices-- theyre hard to find and not well labeled.

This place has good restaurants, but the recent parking lot remodel reduced the number of spots and now its impossible to find a place to park.
