It was time to get into the fall season by making some delicious holiday lattes at our next Fall Bucket List-Latte Art with Pour. Pour is a new coffee shop here in Rochester run by Glen Edith Coffee Roasters. Our class was located in the back of Pour where the production is done in regards to grounding fresh coffee. Adriana M. was also busy setting up the table with refreshments which included this addicting home-made guacamole with chips, crackers, and a variety of cheeses. At one point I had to tell myself and Ebbie B., " Enough of the Guac". This coffee class was ran by one of the most famous coffee baristas in the area, John. You can tell John takes great pride it what he does, and shows through the passion he has for turning coffee into an art. The class lecture begins with John discussing the various elements that go into making coffee, which was a lot more in-depth than I thought it was going to be. An expresso for example is a concentrated cup of coffee, that is grinded under pressure. John had us then individually help tamper his espresso, which was hard work to get it all even. He also went into the components of the espresso machines. A neat part of the machine is the group head, as John would always say, " You need to properly flush the espresso head". Finally we learned about temperature surfing, like the hotter John is, the more the coffee soaks it up. The next part of the class was taking the fundamental concepts that we learned, and making our own lattes-YES! I had the opportunity to recreate the Pumpkin Spice Latte. This latte involved homemade pumpkin syrup, with pumpkin spices added. I was SHOCKED when I ended up creating a perfect leaf from the foam in my latte. At the end of the night we could barley hang on to our own coffee cups with the caffeine rush. Heck, I didnt go to bed till Midnight! I know Em R. and myself kept jolting in front of John, as we where trying to keep our composure while he was helping us. It was also great to see Kelly S., and Lea B. try to work the froth for a great design as well. Latte Badge Achieved!! Pour Coffee also is home to some original sandwiches, like the Lumber Jack. Everyone knows I love a good lumber jack, cause this one did not disappoint. The pepperjack oozed smoothly over the fried egg, and bacon on top. It was topped with fresh onions, and peppers which gave this sandwich a kick in heat! The sourdough bread was crispy, as it held all the components inside the sandwich well. The bacon had a nice flavor of maple syrup. Overall: Pour Coffee, John the Barista King, Guacamole, Espressos, Lattes, Creating Our Own Lattes, Pumpkin Spices, The Lumber Jack, and One Heck of a Caffeine Rush...I Will Be Back.

The place I really love what they did in the place. It has a clean, bright modern look to it. Whoever made the chalk board menus has some serious talent. Seems like a great place to go and get some work done or just chill with a few friends and enjoy a coffee. The coffee Yes the coffee what can I say besides I wish I could visit this place daily. This is my first time with Verve coffee and now I am online about to order some for my own house. My wife and I both ordered a Vanilla bean lattes and I can honestly say this was one of the best lattes I have ever had. First of the barista explained to us how they caramelize pure can sugar then scrape vanilla beans into it. Talk about high quality!!! Most places use syrups and sauces they buy in a bottle in their lattes not these guys. I loved the flavor it was a perfect blend of a great espresso, milk and the faint but distant taste of vanilla. My wife was equally impressed as I was. I cant wait to come back to Rochester to try this place again. The staff I was equally impressed with the staff they were so friendly and patient with me. I admit I am a hard customer at a coffee shop I always ask the barista what they recommend. She was a huge help and went overboard to ask what kind of coffee I liked to figure out what I might like. The verdict I really love everything about this place including the hipster vibe. My only complain and would end up giving this place a 4.5 if I could was the price. The latte was 5 bucks for a 10 ounce which is pretty pricey!! I know it was high quality but that still is high. The only other complaint would is a loyalty program. I dont live in the area but most any coffee shop I have been to has one. Example you buy 10 or 12 drinks you get one free. If they have one I saw nothing showing it nor did she mention any thing about it. Even so I would come back I just would be hesitant to come as often at that price point.

This is a fantastic coffee shop. It has the modern reclaimed wood/ subway tile/ communal table feel of so many 3rd Wave coffee shops. The staff is really nice. The customers are really hip, friendly and youthful. There is plenty of seating. And most importantly, the coffee is on point! The Slayer espresso is excellent! Dont be distracted by the out-of-the-way location. It only adds to the charm as a neighborhood place...its definitely not a Starbucks, or even like a Blue Bottle or Intelligentsia...its better than all of those in almost every way.

Just Popped In @ 8.10am & A Line & Hard 2 Find Parking & 1 Person Working (that I Saw) So I Left & Went Next Door with Street Parking2 Cafe Sasso. Looks Like Glen Edith Could Be A Great Atmosphere2 Work As There Was Dead Silence Inside & Very Minimalistic-So No Distractions-Yet A Bit Stuffy 4 Air Quality. Ill Give It Another Try Sometime. Dont Use Parking Lot Across From It As Youll Be Quickly Towed -Glen Edith Has A 4 - 5 Car Lot Capacity. Great 4 Walkers. I Like Strong

It was alright, but I found their roasts way too bitter and I couldnt help but feel disappointed at how much I spent for the pour over to not be enjoying the experience. I went to get work done on a laptop and the seating options were not very comfortable and there was a lack of power outlets. Im leaving this review as 4 stars and hoping I just had an unusually bad initial experience. If I find myself there again Ill update this review.

One of my favorite coffee places. They do expertly crafted pour-over coffees, as well as espresso drinks. Their food is also really spectacular, though the vegan options are limited (but they do exist!). Pictured is A Toast of Green Envy (their avocado toast, vegan). This was taken on their outdoor seating area, which was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, for being right off busy Park Ave.

Stopped in for coffee at this hipster spot with folks on laptops whispering to each other over their fancy pour over coffees. I ordered one from a very friendly handsome man. When I received my coffee and went to pour in the milk and sugar, I found two nasty bugs floating in my coffee!! Talk about an appetite suppressant. Servers graciously refunded my money and I left, coffeeless.
