This store almost caused me to spend almost $150 MORE in shipping than necessary. Extremely disappointed by my experience here, and after reading earlier reviews, it seems I am not alone in my opinion. I needed to ship a large wall clock (34" long, 13" at widest point, and approximately 6" deep). I have experience packing fragile items, but since this was so long, I did not have a box to fit it. I knew that a larger box (which I didnt have) could be cut to fit in order to keep the dimensions down, so I asked UPS what they would charge to box it. I was told $55 (just under $60 with tax!!). I hesitated because that is a lot money, but I figured it would be well packed in a cost effective manner, and I would be saved the hassle of cutting a box to size. Imagine my SHOCK when I see the packaged clock - it was in a 37" x 33"" x 37" box!! When I get the box home to print the label (at home so I could get my account discount), the shipping cost, with those dimensions, was $205.65!!!!! I went back to UPS with the package to tell them this was unacceptable. A man working told me he would talk to the manager. I related to the mgr. the clocks dimensions and the fact that the excessive packing created a ridiculous shipping fee. She spoke to the woman who packed it to see if it could be put in a smaller box. This was a huge problem b/c that woman was EXTREMELY defensive and rude, immediately stating that it was the "only way to pack it" and she "has been packing items for years, and to have someone come in with no experience" packing fragile items" (but, ahem, I have over 12 years packing fragile items...)"is ridiculous." This was such a turn off. I reiterated that there was no reason for the smallest side of the box to be 21, and the second smallest side to be 33" (!) when those dimensions of the clock were 6" and 13". With her packing, the 6" depth of clock became 21" in box, and the 13" actual width measurement of clock became 33" (!!!). At this point I said I would rather just take the clock back and get a refund for the packing. Mgr said not possible since the time was already spent packing. Really? But since they could keep all the materials, was packing being billed at $55 an hour? Long story short, it was agreed that they would repackage it with smaller dimensions. Defensive packing woman could be heard in the other room grumbling that she could do this if I would sign off on the packing. Sensibly, the mgr said no. Really, the reason I was bringing it there was for safe packing! Finally, I had a smaller box, 32" x 9" x 37" that cost $59.18 to ship. Remember with their first packaging the cost would have been $205.65. Yes, that is a difference of 146.47 in shipping fees!! BTW the new box used less peanuts and styrofoam, but I was not reimbursed any money from first packaging. I still needed to go home to print my label. The mgr asked if I wanted to leave the package there while I did that, but I said no. I honestly felt like the packer would sabotage the package to prove her original packaging was the only way it could ship safely. I brought the package to the Sayville UPS the next day. I bet soon there will be 3 or 4 more glowing reviews to cover this one as that seems to be a pattern if you read all the prior reviews... Speaking of which, how does the one follow up reviewer know that "he was the customer" a previous disgruntled customer was writing about in her review? LOL

I made a purchase at a local auction house online, and needed it packed and shipped to Idaho. The item was a large antique stained glass window. It was in a weak condition, being very old and extremely fragile. They packed it extremely well in bubble wrap, foam peanuts and double boxed. The window arrived just as it was when purchased. The communication was excellent throughout the transaction. Also they collected the window from the auction house, packed and shipped the same day. After receiving price quotes from other shippers, I was pleased with the price I was charged. I would have them do it all over again, and highly recommend them to others. Very friendly staff!

Once again I received extraordinary, helpful, service, this time by Samantha (IIRC her name). She helped me navigate to a shipping label I had saved on my phone, so I could email it to the store so as to get it printed. The last time I was there the woman who helped me ship a SSD for an RMA was also helpful, and very up on what needed to be done. Ha, and then there was the time my niece needed some Taylor Swift notebooks, only available on Long Island, shipped to her right away. :) This store is a genuine pleasure to use!

i was the customer she was talking to. the person that wrote the review and said she was rude was completely inaccurate. I have been a customer there for many years, including when the prior owner was there, and all that work there are polite and informative. The owner works very hard and since she has taken ownership the store has improved tremendously. I do not know why someone would write such a review. She was trying to use an amazon return post office label and couldnt. Maybe ???????

The UPS store in Patchogue is great. I have been using their services for a few years now. The staff is incredible, Lisa, Jenn, Veronica, Kristin, Courtney and Kevin are fantastic. They are a friendly and professional group. The store is open later than the post office so I can take care of my mail needs after business hours, and I get emails when packages arrive. I would definitely recommend this location to any business professional. I am a very satisfied customer.

Nice ladies working there but its a TOTAL RIP. They charged me $157, when i got home I called UPS international to double check if this was the correct price as per my package size, weight... They replied that this store is a franchise store and could charge more, so i went back and got my package with a refund for the $157. Anyway, just got home from the UPS facility on horseblock rd. Just paid $61. same package.

Terrible service. Wouldnt use a prepaid Ups label and FedEx box supplied by Verizon to return a phone. Nor would close my small box with tape or cover the FedEx logo unless I purchased tape. Walked out and went to Staples next door. They closed my box and gave me a 25% off coupon as well. Go to Staples next door, they are super accommodating.

UPS told me to come here to return the package that was delivered to my house by mistake. this store is not part of UPS it is individually owned therefore they do not fulfill all obligations of UPS including receiving packages that need to be returned to Sender............ I called ups and they said it does not make sense.
