My mom wanted to get me a mountain bike for xmas this year since mine got stolen over the summer. She wanted to support a local shop so she went to Congers Bike shop. She went in with a list of details she wanted for the bike and some examples within her price range. They had none on the list and (since she doesnt know much about bikes and didnt know any better) ended up selling her a comfort bike with seat suspension , no disc brakes and no front fork suspension like you want on a mtn bike, AND they tried telling her that was equal to what I wanted. I went in last week and the owner wasnt back from his "vacation" yet. The worker tried telling me it WAS a mountain bike and then showed me an actual mountain bike for a $100 more that had generic everything on it. Went back today with my mom to get our money back, and they were closed and they have no answering machine. Very unprofessional store that leads customers astray. Go somewhere else, especially if you want a mountain bike. They cater more to Rockland Lake State Park type cyclists in the first place.

Looked at all of the bicycle shops in/around Rockland County and this bike shop was by far the worst. I was some-what amazed to see cheap retail store (Wal-Mart, Target, etc) bicycles with price tags of 2, 3, 4xs their retail value. One that came to mind was a cheap Mongoose full suspension mountain bike that retails for around $150 in stores like Wal-Mart, Target and Congress Bike Shop had a tag on it with $499 crossed out and $399 written under it. I walked around the store and for the post part saw some older bikes with excessive price tags and a variety of retail bicycles marked up well over double their retail price (Im not sure if they were new or used). There was one person behind the counter and looked up several times but didnt bother to say hello let alone as if I had any questions or needed assistance. Stay far away from these crooks!

Horrible customer service and buyer beware, they charged my cards 5 times, said my credit card wasnt going through and then I paid cash. WHen I went in and showed them that they had charged my cards at first they didnt want to acknowledge there mistake then once they admitted it then they wouldnt do anything to get me my money back. I cant get my money, they have horrible customer service high prices besides buyer beware, they are not honest business people

Promised to charge $ 60.00 for a tune-up (all included), billed for $ 110.00, then gave a $ 10.00 discount. Never again. Greg, New City
