Excellent Bike shop! This place is by far the best in the Hudson Valley. The people know their stuff and the prices are very reasonable. After going around to most of the bike shops in the Valley, I always got a feeling like the people working thare wouldnt raise an eye to you unless you bought or were interested in buying a $1500.00 trek/cannondale with all the bells n whistles. Biking insnt about how new, lightweight, trendy and exspensive a bike and or equipment you ride with is. Its about you and the pavement and what you make of it. This place is a cool bike shop. its something differant. The place is in an old warehouse but it has a kind of retro melow relaxed feeling to it. while still carrying all the essentials and allot of hard to find older or should I say Vintage parts and bicycles, that wont break the bank. People getting into Bicycle riding pay attention!!! Want to start riding buy dont want to spend $700.00 for a decent bike (by some bike shop standards) worried that after you spend $700 for the bike and another $300 in acessories (helmets, air pumps, ect) that you will loose interest in it and haing the bike in the garage? Them come to Peoples Bicycle in Beacon. You can get a good used bike without all the BS that comes with all the other shops. Keep up the great work guys

I wish I could give this place less than one star. Went in for a new bike walked out pissed off due to the poor customer service. Ill take my business elsewhere. You have to knock on the door because they have a dog that they cant even control properly. And youll find yourself standing there for about 15 mins before they ask you if you need help as if you are a burden on their life. I tried to start conversation by explaing to them I have the same bike that they have on the wall and he rudely replied "a lot of people think they have that bike" Fron one business owner to another please work on your people skills.

They have a weird schedule and are open Friday to Monday. I didnt know this so I drove there and brought my busted bike to them. I saw people inside so I knocked on the glass door. I was looked at then completely ignored by those ***hats. But I guess it was their prerogative however uncourteous as it was. Luckily I found a much better, professional and well stocked place in very close Montgomery NY called Dark Horse Cycles, they were actually enthusiastic to repair and even restore my bicycle. Im actually glad I got rudely ignored.

Family gifted me a brand new bike. The seat is too high, and there are some parts that I have no idea how to assembly them together. I went in almost closing hour. The owner still kindly checked everything for me, did alignment, assembled the break, loosen the seat, so it can be lower, checked the tire. By the time it was finished, it was way past closing hour. So appreciates. Best experience ever. Didnt discriminate me for I have no knowledge of bike, unlike the experiences I had previously. Great price, too.

These guys are great. I needed to get a bike tuned up in a pinch in time for the five borough bike tour. My work schedule (I work in Manhattan) made it very difficult to get up to Beacon before any bike shops closed. John actually met up with me after the shop closed to take my bike, and the guys had it ready the next day. Not only was the service great, the prices are far better than any other bike shop in the area. I wouldnt even consider going to another shop!

In my late teens I raced for a team that had a mechanic. I have been regularly frustrated with bike shop service since then. Tim seems to care about fixing a bike properly, and thats all I ask. His prices are great -especially compared to bike shops in NYC that I was using and the northern westchester. Best of all, he has a cute puppy Jack (close door after you come in till he grows up).

Tim got my bike running like the day that I got it...The work was good, the turn around time was good, and the price was reasonable. I also got a new tire from him, also at a reasonable price... Peoples Bicycle is a "Hidden Gem" in the Hudson Valley.

This is where I bought my first bike in 14 years. I didnt really know what I was looking for when I walked in the door, but I left with exactly what I wanted. Look for the golden fist pumping kitty and youll be greeted with excellent helpful service.

No two ways about it: The best bike shop I have patronized. They bring bikes back to life and sell them at VERY REASONABLE prices. And they care about the community. People of character, selling and serving bikes honestly.

Sarah was the best. We rented two bikes. She took the time to fit us and actually spent time with my girl friend reminding her how to change gears. Great place.

Horrible location, the people who live on the street are interrupted and irritated and need to leave
