These guys revery NICE BUT I am : Sorry to say I had 2 bad experiences with Trend this year. I purchased 2 cars from them. I do not know why I came back for more punishment. Maybe because Luke is so, so nice. The first time I purchased a Passat. and was promised a great price if i called them by end of day with a credit card number that night which I did. When I arrived 3 days to pickup car they told me they made a mistake and I paid 360 more over a 36 month lease. At that point I invested so much time and did not fell like making a big deal over $10 per month. It bothered me so much due to the lack integrity after the fact . I felt they could have given me a free service contract with wound up I paying for. You all know when you sign the paperwork they offer you many upgrades of services. BTW in the book called "Influence" by Robert Cadini he talks about that exact scenario . Once a client is committed to a purchase and has invested time and is excited many auto sales people say they made a mistake and try to make the client feel bad for the real nice salesperson. The client falls for the trap like I did. Second car was a trade in. of my sons 2008 Passat. The car was in good shape but we wanted him to have a new car for college. We planned to downgrade him from an older Passat to a new Jetta. We purchased the Passat used for $8500.00 2 years ago. They offered us $2500. They gave us the old sob story they cannot resell if for much more even though the street price was still 8500. VW holds there value for sure. The finally agreed to $5000 as they said they would take a loss for us. In the end they took the $5000 off the MSRP not the full discounted price and I would up overpaying for his car. I must a JERK for agin buying into this. They did not want to show me the number but kept giving excuses. They never made the breakdown clear. We were also supposed to get Memorial Day savings which we never got the full $1500 off. When we picked up the new Jetta, guess what? We saw our 2008 Passat all cleaned up being driven home by someone and was sold for guess how much $8500.00. Trend called to ask me to write a possible review. I told them I would not and wanted to talk the owner. Of course the owner was in Italy. They said I can talk to Scott the Sales manager. I told he was the one I had issue with. I want to talk to owner. Guess who called me that day? Scott not the GM or owner. Scott was so polite and did all the things the book on customer services says to do . He was calm, repeated all my concerns so I would fell like I was heard. In the end did Zero, Nada. I did not get any compensation, any explanation of why the price of the trade was what it was. Scott did promise me to get me USB cable for my iPhone which he NEVER DID GET FOR ME. I have never been treated like this before. I have owned a Jaguar , a Mercedes , 2 BMWs, a Porsche and an Audi and 3 Volvos. I decided to move to an economical car as Im over the thrill of fancy cars and want to save for my future. I love my VW so much. I may try Bernardsville VW. They are so amazing of there. They actually drove my car to my office when the service was complete. If they finally resolve these issues I will be glad to update my review. I have a business and hate when I get a bad review. Most business owners strive so hard to keep clients happy, I did not write this review until I spoke to Scott and a month later still no follow up to resolve.

Dont waste your time! These are the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I made an appointment to view a car with the understanding that if the car sold prior to my visit, I would be contacted. Their so called, "sales professional" called me the day of the appointment to confirm I would be coming. I confirmed the appt and told them I had a limited time frame to view the car. I called again 30 minutes before the appt to get directions to the location. I asked if the car would be available to drive and was told yes. I arrived at the location and was told the sales professional was with another customer and would be right there. Not sure what the purpose was of making an appt, but I waited. After 10 minutes Luke shows up and tells me that the car I was to be looking at received a deposit the day before, but that it was still available for me to look at if I was interested. I was a taken a back by this as why wasnt I informed of this prior to coming down to visit the car-I spoke to the dealership 2 times within a 2 hour period prior to visiting and was never informed of this??? When I asked why, he said it was a mix up, but that the car wasnt official sold and I could still look at it and take it for a test drrive. He told me it was being brought up. After another 15 minutes of waiting, I went back up to him and told him of my time constraint and was told it would be any minute. Again, the appointment was made a week ago, confirmed twice and they couldnt have the car ready for when I arrived??? When the car finally arrives, the individual who drove it up told me I could look at it but couldnt drive it? Which was not what Luke told me. I went back into the dealership and he said I could, then the two individuals start questioning each other in front of me. I was stunned and asked to speak with the sales manager. Of course he was apologic, but had the nerve after apologizing to try to offer me another car??? Are you kidding me? I wouldnt buy a stick of gum from these people!!! Not sure if they were trying to get me to make an offer on the car, thereby, screwing the so-called person whom had a deposit on the car or what, but these individuals were not informed, unprofessonal and could not care less about the customer or their time. There are too many other dealerships that employ professional sales individuals and offer excellent cutomer service such as the acura dealer in clinton, NJ and the volvo dealer in summit.

I did not run into a single problem or issue while dealing with Mike Ladenheim. I was lucky to find the exact car I wanted on their online inventory (I couldnt find any in stock within 40-50 miles of Jersey City). I called Trend Motors and Mike was more than happy to get the car ready for me for a test drive. When I pulled into the dealership, it was exciting to see this specific car waiting in the front. Mike immediately came to greet me when he was paged by the receptionist (who was pleasant as well) and we went for our test drive. Mike was very friendly, easy-going, but still professional. I decided I loved the car and wanted to talk numbers in his office. Mike realized I did my homework and shopped prices with different dealers, so he wasted no time in cutting the BS sales and numbers inflation talk. He simply took the numbers that I was looking for, presented to his manager, and came back with a final price that was very reasonable to me. After some number crunching on my end, I decided to shake hands on the deal, knowing that this was probably the lowest price I can get my car. I financed the car through VW Credit and ran into ZERO snags in the process. The whole team was great and the whole transaction was hassle-free and quick. The only thing that held us up was waiting for the car to be detailed and prepped to be driven off the lot. Thats how fast everything was. From arrival to test drive until driving off the lot with my new car, the process took less than 3 hours. Hows that for "cut the BS?" I highly recommend them, as long as you know what youre doing. Mike was awesome and I never felt pressured or duped. So do yourself the favor and do your homework with prices, itll help cut the BS. Because honestly, most dealerships can do that to you. Its your responsibility as the customer to shop prices and stay firm with your price, based on what other dealers have offered you. And if you pay a visit to Trend Motors, youll probably end up with the car you want. Never settle for less.
