One thing about the Internet is in comment opportunities such as this you tend to get the whiners, competitors and folks with an axe to grind. The rest of us are happy with our bikes and are out riding them. Since Max BMW opened I have purchased six new motorcycles from them. They have all been perfectly maintained, delivered when they said they were, items cost what they were quoted at and Ive never been an unhappy customer. When I need service I call them up and they come get my bike in an enclosed van. When its done they bring it back! Does your dealer do that? If they do its because Max did it first. Just like the on-line parts fiche, Max did it first. They are the only store in New England with all the apparel and more importantly all the parts you need to keep going. Call me a kool aid sipper but the branded boots Ive bought there have never leaked, not one drop. But really what says it all is Max is a motorsport enthusiast. His passion is motorsports, be it two or four wheels. Hes started up team Max where total wankers like me can race in Rally Moto, he supports endurance rallies, hang out rallies, off road adventures, ice racing a S1000RR and all sorts of wonderful, cool and sometimes crazy stuff. It gives me confidence that should I ever have problems with my machine they can figure it out, even when others cant. Its great to know the guy who has his name on the door loves, uses and ocassionally abuses a machine just like I do. Look at it this way.. Chances are none of us will ever want to put ice spikes on the worlds fastest production motorcyle and run it hard on a frozen lake in New Hampshire but its pertty damn cool to know my dealer can and will successfully pull of this kind of out of the box thinking. If Max cant make you happy you should give up riding.

Looking for a used motorcycle, I was in contact with Maxs of North Hampton regarding three different bikes. When I visited the showroom, the sales staff were fairly attentive and answered some questions. Following up on my visit, I phoned the sales department. I conveyed to the salesman that my budget for a used bike was on the low end of the spectrum. When I told him the exact figure, he sarcastically said "Good Luck" and the phone went click. I do not think that the salesman made the connection that he had just spoken to me in-person a few days prior. To hang up on a local, potential customer that is currently in the market for a bike is rude and a poor business move; no matter how you cut it. To be realistic, I’m sure that there are a bunch of very satisfied customers out there. Unfortunately, it is people, like me, who feel slighted (I don’t recall having ever been hung up on prior to this) that feel compelled to write reviews of warning and post them on the internet. BMW makes a great and lasting product with a tradition of great service. In my personal experience, Max’s BMW of North Hampton subtracts from tradition.

Ive been with BMW for over 25 years with 6 bikes to date to include a BMW 740I. When I purchased my 2002 from another dealer because at the time I lived in VT. there were major issues after the did the 600 mile service and destroyed the bike to a point it wasnt rideable anymore because it was dangerous from surging. Max called BMW and had a special tech come up to review the issues. They didnt fix it to my satisfaction of anyone elses and in hind site I should have gone to BMW for a new bike but didnt. Max said he could fix it so I went that route. Max did fix the bike with a Techlusion fuel programmer and it ran well from that point. Ive since then taken my bikes to Max for Service and as of last year I purchased a 2015 R1200RT with all the bells and whistles and I love it. The Sales, Parts and Service staff have always treated me with First Class treatment and have always been square with me. If nothing changes with the personality at Max then ill continue to go there. I learned the value of dealing with a top notch shop when I owned a Ducati and discovered (through rider referrals) BCM Motorsports. When I was in the market for my first brand new bike three years ago, BMW made my list largely based on the reputation of MAX BMW. I had also dropped by several years ago when the K1200S was first released to take a demo ride. They copied my license, gave me the key, a suggestion for demo roads and sent me on my way. So I went in to MAX with my eye on a K1300S and some idea of my comfort level on price. I spent a few hours with John and walked out with a handshake and a deal on the shop demo. Three years and 18,000 miles later I can say that every interaction has been friendly, informative and satisfying. And I have the peace of mind that Im dealing with a shop that KNOWS these bikes. I strongly recommend dealing with a single-brand dealer. There are likely other good ones, but I know from experience that MAXs premier reputation is deserved.

I bought a 05 R1200GS from Max NH online while I was overseas. It was delivered to my home before I got back. Got home, rode it a few times, developed a leak on the engine case. Tried to resolve the issue-no luck, too much time had passed, bike was delivered in October, I didnt get home until April. I was pretty frustrated, no resolution with the folks at the dealership, finally sent an email to Max himself. Got a reply the same day, he took the bike back, no questions asked and offered a full refund. I bought a 07 R1200GS, couldnt be happier. I ride almost everyday-great bike. Max is a stand up guy-I wouldnt hesitate to buy from them again.

I purchase a used 2007 r1200rt in December sight unseen and had it shipped to Canada. They are familiar with the exporting process, were timely, professional and accommodating throughout the transaction. It is now April andI took it out for the first time. Bike is in excellent shape and exactly as described. I have contacted them a few times for information and they have been extremely helpful on explaining all of my questions about the functions of the bike. Great experience all around. I highly recommend Max BMW for anyone considering an online used BMW purchase.

I heard about so many exiting things coming out of Maxs. The showroom is great with some nicely restored old bikes and I hear that there customers are very active motorcyclists. so I stopped in for some adjustments while on a road trip. I was more than a little let down by the lack of professionalism and hot shot attitude. I think they could learn allot from a few California shops. New England is a great place to visit, especially on a motorcycle. I feel sorry that riders in the Boston area have so few decent BMW shops to choose from.

Although it has been several years since I bought my bike from Max BMW, the level of service I always receive there is outstanding. From parts, special orders or a last minute repair. They always find time to squeeze me in and everyone is helpful and friendly. I have put many upgrades on my GS and would not think about going anywhere but Max BMW. Great level of knowledge, customer service and stand behind everything. Great group of hard working people. Do yourself a favor and visit Max BMW.
