I shopped a lot in the last few months buying fabric to make throw pillows and had no problem with their fabric for that use. Then I decided to make crib sheets and spent $30.00 on their childrens fabric to make several sheets. The first thing I noticed is the way they "cut" the fabric. They have places on the counter to run the cutter though to cut the fabric but for some reason this person decided to "tear" the fabric. In doing that the fabric was crooked, I washed it and used cold water since its cotton. The end to this story is the fabric was crooked from tearing it and it was shrunk to the point it couldnt never fit a crib. I went ahead and finished one sheet just to see what had happened and I now have a sheet that is 21 inches from corner to corner and 41 inches long. what I should have is a sheet thats 27 wide corner to corner and 52 inches long. Now that fabric isnt cheap, it happens to be 7.99 a yard and is worthless. Why would a fabric shop with a large selection of childrens patterns carry fabric that is inferior for any use? I sent them an email with my concerns and their response was rather indifferent. They said they would have the store speak to the people in the fabric section and address the problem. While I was in the store I asked about seeing a Brother sewing machine, the woman in the sewing section told me they dont carry Brother but she would be glad to show me a Viking which is superior to Brother. I explained to her I didnt do a lot of sewing and since Im 77 didnt think I needed that expensive a machine since it would probably outlive me. She then suggested I could leave it to my daughter. She never mentioned the fact that Joanns carries the Brother machine on line. I will not spend my money in a shop that not only doesnt care what kind of service their customers receive but isnt really interested in the loss of a customers money or business. If you shop at Joanns be sure to know your material will shrink and they really dont care as long as they get your money.

Still the biggest craft store in town! I know a lot of people would assume that Hobby Lobby is bigger and from the outside it is but a good 1/3 of the store is interior decor, not crafting supplies. Jo-Ann has an interior decor section but its really only the first two aisles in the front of the store and everything else is crafting supplies. There is a massive art and framing section in the back and Ive had a few things framed here. The prices are comparable and they did really good work both times. This is also the only commercial crafting store in the area with a decent fabric selection. Its not great but its better than anywhere else Ive found close by. The prices tend to be a bit higher than some of the other stores around but the selection makes up for it in most cases. I would rather go where I know I can find what I need on the first try, even if I have to pay a bit more for it, than drive all over town checking the smaller stores with smaller selections.

Really enjoy the different holiday ideas that come every season to help me change out my decor and update my home. I buy mostly trinkets and Wilson products here, although occassionally I will see a fabric I like. Have been disappointed in the fabrics over the last 5 years that I have lived here, as it seems the quality has gone down. I understand its a discount store, but still a quilt could cost a couple hundred dollars to quilt, I dont want to use poor quality (open weave and rough) fabrics also. I understand they manufacture to the masses, I think in the past they had varying degress of quality to fit everyones price point, but now it seems all the cotton fabrics are pretty poor. They have two types of flannel a good one and a better one, etc., why not keep that for the cottons too. Staff is generally pretty helpful.

Special crafts, amazing classes - Thank you again Jo-Anns for giving us thirty percent off for our gift making adventure and helping us design our Christmas and Hanukkah gifts. The fabric was $15-#20, but the seamstress gave us the yards for $6.00, which allowed my boy to buy glue sticks, stamps, paint and stickers. Last year we bought those special candles, but this year you ran out, so the staff helped us discover the new uses of glue sticks. My son and I are making homemade Christmas and Hanukkah gifts for our friends before the festivities tomorrow and into the week. Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts next to the Costco in Henderson at 651 Marks is helpful. Each year the staff helps us with finding fabrics, blue glue sticks, candles and elaborate buttons. Check out the events in Las Vegas in front of the Venetian and Downtown Fremont Street.

I was excited to go check out this Joanns, as Ive enjoyed a different Joanns previously. I went in to this Joanns on a Friday evening at about 7 pm. What a horrible experience! First of all, everything was ridiculously over priced, and their sales were bad. Their clearance rack was small and didnt reflect clearance prices. Both of these could be over looked, but once it was time to buy something, it took 15-20 minutes in line before they would even cut your fabric. THEN, you had to take that fabric, and wait in the checkout line (at least 4 customers long) for ANOTHER 15-20 minutes. Despite the number of employees they had wandering aimlessly through the store, there was only ONE cashier. I dont have that kind of time to waste. My business will be taken elsewhere.

Ive been shopping at Joanns for over 20 yrs from CA and now NV...Since shopping at the Henderson store, Ive experienced that most of the employees there are miserable...you say Hello, but you dont get a response until you check out with a fond farewell? And Ive noticed that they are suspicious of you every if you take your time shopping. Whats worst they also follow you into the restroom to make sure youre not stealing...Ummm my basket full of purchases is sitting out on the floor. Ive spend so munch money at this place, and feel this is not worth buying at this place or at any Joanns in LV. I wish Hancocks was still in business...they gave the best customer service.

Great Selection of materials and supplies, but if you are needing to get any material cut, expect a lengthy wait… I was number 62 and they were on 39 when I arrived… it was an average 7 minutes before next number was called. After number 45 was called, I gave up knowing it was going to be over an hour before they got to me. I could only see two workers up doing the cutting. I felt sorry for them. To bad there werent more cutters available. I would hate to see what Black Friday sale would be like and will not make an attempt to even go there.

I had no idea how long I would be standing in line to get material cut. Yikes, 45 minutes later, I had another long line to check out. At least every register was working and that only took about 10 minutes. I wont go again on a Saturday. They have just about everything you could need at Joann and incredible friendly staff. I was looking for fabric for the house to make curtains and I have noticed the fabric goes on and off sale 50% very often so worth the wait to get fabric or plan ahead if you need a project done.
