Lackluster customer service really kills this place. I dropped by looking for a replacement belt for a sewing machine. I couldnt find it and looked for an associate for help. The cashiers were all busy and the sales floor sparsely attended by employees so it took awhile. I finally found one who was helping another customer and let them know I needed help when they were free. The associate took the customer to speak with the manager while I waited nearby. He then just walked away, apparently having forgotten about me. I then found another associate who directed me to talk to the woman running a separate shop within the store selling sewing machines. After speaking with her, she explained the belt I was looking for is actually sold by Jo Anns and showed me where to find it. Yep, a non-Jo Anns employee was not only the one person who actually helped me in their store, she was the only person who showed any interest in customer service. Ill think twice before going back.

I thought I would have time to quickly pick up a yard of ribbon before catching my appointment. I should have known, since this happens every time Im there. 25 minute wait to have the ribbon cut. By now I have steam coming out my ears. At the checkout I asked nicely if they could add another checker. "Ill try, but this is nothing compared to what it was like a few minutes ago!" I was number ten in line, and no other checker came. I am usually chatty, happy, and sociable. I was hoping no one would say a word to me, even a "how are you!" because I was likely to chop a head off! And I know that the complete lack of customer service is not the cutters or the checkers responsibility, they are working as fast as they can. However, there is a huge problem with the management. My 32 year old sewing machine broke last week, so I was browsing through the sewing machines while waiting and fuming, but there is no way I will spend any more of my money at this store.

Like most Joanns, its super crowded, ESPECIALLY if youre there for fabric. The fabric line always takes forever, so be prepared. If its anywhere near a holiday, its just chaos. Bring your patience with you, my sewing friends. Checking out is usually chaos, but orderly chaos. Otherwise, selection is pretty good but not enormous. If youre looking for something specific, youll usually be able to find it, but not a lot a large selection to choose from. They always have coupons, and if you sign up for the mailers and/or text messages, youll always be prepared to get a good deal. Just make sure to take some patience with you, otherwise youll end up being the grumbling jerk that makes everyones experience worse.

I love going to Jo-Ann Fabrics! I know that having fabric or ribbon cut will take a while, depending on the sale going on, so I ALWAYS get a number first thing, and then I go look for what I need, and then look just for fun until my number is called. The ladies at the cutting counter are always great and friendly too me. I love the one on Milwaukee better than the one in the Karcher mall - that one doesnt have near the selection nor does it have many items for my sewing machine.

the only good thing about Jo-Ann Fabrics and crafts is the coupons... however they dont make up for the poor customer service you get when you are there. no one ever has a smile on their face there and you better bring you lunch if you need any fabric cut because you will be waiting line that is slower than the local Department of Motor Vehicles. I HATE IT WHEN I HAVE TO GO THERE FOR SOMETHING. I will try everything in my power to find it elsewhere first!

I walked around the store for 45 minutes. I asked two people for help and was forgotten and ignored by both. Id called up there prior to going into the store and the woman I spoke with assured me they had what I wanted. Only to tell me after 45 minutes of wandering around and being ignored that Id have to order it online from them. There for pointlessly having me drive up there just to be ignore and for them to not have ANY of the materials I needed.

The new store is huge! There is so much to see, it will take several trips--it will be worth it!! Theyve had great coupons in the Sunday paper. BUT I am more than disappointed with their customer service. I signed up for a class on March 21 and it has been a disorganized mess. No one seems to know what they are doing at all. Ive called twice, still no supply list and class starts in 4 days! Ive even talked to the instructor. I cancelled.

The staff are typically very polite and friendly. However, if you are near the fabric cutting station...be patient because they are not the nicest or fastest. They wouldnt let me look at or touch the pieces I was buying and when I got home, what do you know, too short, exactly like I had said. Besides the fabric cutting, the check out line can be long...but almost everyone I have talked with have all been so wonderful.

This place is the worst every time I go in there. The line for fabric cutting is ridiculous, Ive learned to grab a ticket first, then shop for fabric. Today I had to get 1/2in foam, the checker typed it in as 2in foam, and when I tried to correct her politely she turned into a total *****, accusing me of not knowing what I was talking about. Customer service is unheard of at this store. Try to avoid at all costs.

Cut line is always astronomical, never enough cashiers at the front. Stood in line for over 20 minutes. Got up to the counter and tried talking to the cashier, she interrupted me twice while she was answering her headset. Come on Joanns get it together! So disappointed this is one of the only fabric stores left in Boise.

Best customer service Ive experienced at any craft store! All the ladies were super patient and helpful! They went the extra mile! I was there 20 mins after closing time ( accidentally got so wrapped up in fabrics lost track of time) and they were so patient... sorry lol but thank you so much!

My only complaint about this place is the lighting. The lighting seems cold and could be a warmer light. Other than that the staff Are willing to answer questions and help a person out. Its a large store with a huge inventory . There is ample good parking. There are public restrooms.

Terrible customer service. If you are planning to get any fabric cut, plan on waiting in line for at least an hour like you are at the DMV. I have even gone on a Monday morning, and the wait was still at least 45 minutes. I will go elsewhere for my fabric from now on.

Went there to get some Tulle for a project, the staff was super helpful! They cut my tulle into one foot sections for me, which they didnt have to, and gave me helpful advice on a sash I am making. Only wish the checkout line was smaller, but it was worth the wait.

I love Jo-Anns and go there for all my sewing purposes but I wish they had cheaper prices. I know thats something that cant be avoided sometimes but its still a wish of mine. They have great customer service and a wide selection of material and crafty supplies.
