My friend and I came into Gander Mountain for the first time three days ago. What a great experience we had and what wonderful prices and savings were passed on to us. I am leaving in three days for snowy north west for the birth of my first grandchild and my son-in-law told me I would need very warm boots and socks because of their weather. We live closer to your competitors, however, today we made the drive to Gander Mountain. Randy covered the positives of all your warm weather boots until we narrowed down which ones would be best for me. After trying two or three different brands, I found the Columbia boot was going to be best for me. I came prepared with my own socks. He pointed out cotton socks would not be the best for warmth and the use of a merino wool would keep my feet more warm and dry. He opened a new pack of socks for me to try on with the boot! The boot and sock made for lovely fit. The socks were so comfortable I decided to buy two packs and get some longer more sturdy shoelaces. He then carried up my boots, socks, laces and waterproofing spray to customer service for me. He easily spent 45 minutes fitting my boots and socks even measuring the laces of the boots to ensure I got exactly the size I needed. I know we will be back in the store very soon! God Bless!

I was looking for a hand gun, have bought several in recent weeks from much smaller shop(s), so was accustom to very personal service. I entered shortly after they opened, Howard (#58665) approached quickly which I appreciated--the worst experience is wanting to buy but everyone is to busy with their morning routine, (stocking merch, setting up registers, or just not paying attention to customers). I did not see this behavior at this store. I was very impressed with their selection of used and new hand guns. Howard steered me to what he felt I had explained I was looking for. If I had to look at more than three guns, I would have been out of there. Not only did I buy the gun he recommended, I bought just about every accessory and ammo he recommended. Paper work was standard but what I liked that it was able to completed on-line, no forms to fill out manually and was completed in a timely fashion. Never shopped at Gander Mountain before, looked like a cool store. Ill shop there for everything I need if Howard can manage my buying experience. Great experience, I will recommend to all. Thank you, and thank you to Howard (586665). Sincerely, Dan Fischer

I am through with Gander Mountain. They opened a store 10 minutes from where I work about 2 years ago. I thought this would be very convenient to run up at lunch time to grab the necessities for my hunting and fishing habit. After wasting several lunch hours because of their bait and switch sales flyers I refuse to ever go back. 2 days after the flyer came out, I went out during my lunch hour to pick up a $20 spooling station. After 15 minutes wandering the fishing area, I looked up a salesman to ask him where they were located. he told me they had sold out but the truck would be in tomorrow. Refusing to buy something I hadnt gone in for I left. The next day after work at around 5:00pm I returned. Again unable to find any on the shelves, I asked a salesman and was told they hadnt come in but what I should do is go online and order one in. That is apparently the only way to be sure of having one available on sales items. No more BAITSWITCHBACKMOUNTAIN for me.

The store is great, but I have a question for store management. My mother and grandmother were at the Fenton location earlier today with my 5 year old son and were followed around the store in almost a harrassing manner by an older, well dressed man. Is this store security? If so, they could definitely use a little more tact in operations. If not, I think this matter should potentially be looked into, or maybe your staff should be made aware of this man. When my mother told me the story a few minutes ago, the man sounded very menacing/stalkerish and makes me concerned for your customers, especially those bringing in young children. Providing a safe consumer experience should be a top concern for any retailer and I would be more than happy to talk to someone about this if this man is not a store employee and have my mother identify via security footage, if possible.

Austin (586650) did an excellent job at making a new customer for life. Both Austin and his manager were extremely professional and at no time did i feel pressured to purchase anything. The only reason i went into the store was to check and compare prices on gun safes. I had already planned on purchasing a safe at a competitor. It takes a lot to impress me and even more to change my mind. Austin did just that. He went way above my expectations and answered every question i could think of asking. What was supposed to be a quick 3 minute in and out turned into about a 20 minute show and tell with a rather large sale at the end. I can honestly say that if it were not for Austin, Gander Mountain would not have a new customer. As far as the rest of the store, it was very clean and organized and every employee that walked by me was very courteous.

I give this place three stars because there is quite a range of shopping needs that may be met here. However, honestly, Gander Mountain is definitely overpriced. I spent the bulk of my time in this store looking at weapons (about a half hour or more). Again, there is a wide range of beautiful weapons at Gander Mountain, but if truth be told I will go elsewhere to purchase one that catches my eye, because even brand new I know I can find it for hundreds less. The salesmen we spoke to were extremely nice, but also extremely pushy. The store just opened, so I am sure they were just behaving in a way that they were instructed to, but trust me it is off putting to customers. Trying to convince me that I need to open up a credit card at the store so I can purchase a Barrett 50 Cal is just ludicrous.

I was in Gander Mountain over the weekend looking for Wounded Warrior Apparel, in which I as frantically looking for at other stores. I was greeted by one of your employees, her name was Jessica Scott, she was very helpful and sweet. She took me to the apparel I was looking for and you all had exactly what i have been looking for!!!!!! But the size wasnt there and Jessica told me she would go check the back, and she came walking out with the sweatshirt in my size. I was so happy to leave with what I wanted. Now on your employee Jessica, she was very helpful from the beginning to the end, a great employee with leadership, and from her great customer service i will be back. Thank you Jessica and Gander Mountain

Thank you Gander Mountain for a great experience today! We came in because we heard about your store wide 10% discount from a hunting buddy. Your staff greeted us the moment we walked in! This was our first time in your store even though we drive by regularly. The gun counter was very busy so this means I will be needing a 2nd round of shopping. Big thanks goes out to Randy, the one armed salesman in shoes!! My wife ran him non stop trying to get her the right fit in a pair of running shoes. He easily brought her 10 different shoes before she finally decided on a pair of Under Armours. I will be back this weekend for a rifle and ammunition.
