Stay away.Poorly run, store, continuous lies, fraud and lack of follow up. No customer service to speak of I originally was very excited to have been recommended to this store. Looked like, if they did things right it might be a pretty good place, near enough although not very close. After a couple visits, a friend and I came in separately in the same week November 15th, 2015. I purchased (3) suppressors and he bought (2). All were paid in full on that date, for product as well as the ATF Tax stamp directly to Defensor. At the time, the average wait time was around 5 months. There have been numerous paperwork errors, missteps, outright lies and falsehoods regarding the purchase. At this point, I got (2) of the (3) at approximately 8 months after getting paperwork re-sent and cleared up and numerous calls to ATF and Defensor. Very rarely is the phone answered, so more often I would need to drive the 30+ minutes to go there because they would not answer or return a call and the voice mail is generally always full and won’t allow you to leave a message. I was finally given cell phone numbers and even that is spotty. Throughout the process I was assured by Joel that the checks were sent, all paperwork was sent and always the same response, once it leaves their shop, there is nothing they can do. The catch is when does it leave their shop? I paid in November and as of November of 2016 nothing had still been sent to ATF. I could call ATF and they could track the S/N of the suppressor to the shop, but it was never listed to me. Also, they could see the checks for the other (2) suppressors throughout, but not this one for tax stamp. ATF was good about working with me and at least 3 of the agents in Virginia and 1 in STL region as well as the region manager have let me know that this is a consistent problem with Defensor. Their suggestion was go to a reputable dealer instead. Defensor was given opportunities to try to prove they sent the paperwork and check to ATF and could not provide anything that showed it. They gave multiple tracking numbers, none of which could be located or accessed by myself or ATF. They showed a near empty check register for a date in June with no real info trying to say that was when they wrote the check. Of course that was 7 months after I paid for it. My friend is at 16 months now and still waiting. Of course the paperwork has been messed up a couple times, and as it turns out they gave him and I originally the same S/N for the suppressor. Not sure how that could work. I have tried to work with the shop for months to get a refund and move on, but they have drug it out continuously, refusing to respond at times for a week or two. They always have a reason but nothing gets done. Neither of the (2) primaries listed are full time at the shop, both have other jobs and when I have tried to get them to write me a refund check and leave it at the shop for me to pick up, they refuse, saying only they can write it. Heather has also told me she absolutely does not want me to come to the shop to get my refund. When I have suggested that if they cannot take care of this I will need to speak to the BBB and others I either get nasty responses or calls, telling me about how I am threatening them and they will not be threatened. Obviously they don’t understand how business works, if you do not do what you say, and take a customer’s money and not give him the product, then that is the avenue or at least one of them. A comment a month or two ago on Facebook someone referenced me in and I responded with some of what went on went viral with around 3 threads over a couple days and nearly 1,000 comments many saying the same things have happened to them. No responses, refusal to take care of, and finally forcing them to go to their banks to dispute the charges.

I cant recommend Defensor Tactical enough. They are a refreshing change from the souless box stores that churn out guns and accessories like they are selling underwear. You will be shocked at both their prices, and their customer service. While their stock is small, they are more than happy to order most anything and their prices are shockingly competitive (See their S&W M&P Shield price for example and try to get that price in one of the chains!). They have a decent selection of accessories that you cant get at a lot of the box stores as well! (Mag Lula speed loaders, Trijicon night sites, apex upgrades). I wandered in by chance after hearing they offered the CCW license course. Jordan and another young man were personable and more than willing to answer any questions I had. I signed up for the course and returned today, Nov. 16, 2014 and took the class. It was informative and well done. John and Joel, the instructors, both did a fantastic job despite a larger than normal class size, and I walked out with my CCW certification more confident in my ability to ascertain when and how to use the responsibility that the privilege affords. I am glad I found them. You will be too. Small businesses like these should be supported and celebrated.

Every single person that works here are theives and liars. From day one they gave me an impression that I could gradually pay as I go to build my AR-15. I would come in every few weeks and buy a new part. I lost my job so I held off paying for the rest of it because I didnt have the money since my business closed where I was working. So I get a call saying that if I didnt pay the rest which was $400 that same day that they wouldnt refund my money nor would I get my rifle. So, I came in that day... got my rifle... BUT, when I got my rifle almost three of the parts werent the same of what I bought. I bought a spikes lower part kit and was sold some crappy defensor tactical branded lower which is about 40 bucks less than what the spikes run for which are around 96$. The barrel was different.. I went in a few days later with some buddies of mine that work at another defensor store to see what they had to say and they said they couldnt pull up my receipt since I "had paid it off so it just disappears after I pay it all off"........ and I yet have to get the parts I had purchased. Theyre scams. I would NEVER recommend someone to come to this shady store.

Ordered a muzzle brake for my AR-15 from their website, paid at checkout with a credit card... (Jan. 14th). TWO days later I get an order update that the order is "awaiting shipping" (Jan 16th). After FIVE days of the order "awaiting shipping" I emailed them to ask why it hadnt shipped (Jan 21st). Was it out of stock (because it wasnt on the site when I ordered it)? No response. Never answered my question. FIVE days after I had emailed them I get an automated email telling me the order has finally shipped (Jan. 26th). Took them 12 days to ship me a muzzle brake... AND they charged me $9.63 to ship it. Could have stuck it in a USPS flat-rate envelope for $5.75 and sent it out the same day I placed the order, the item was a mere 1" wide, 1" deep, 2" tall box... but, sadly, that was not the case. The part was correct and their website was the only site that had it in stock, the price for the part was decent... but man... the fact that it took that long to ship and the high shipping cost combined with the lack of response to my email just makes me want to look elsewhere for my firearms needs.
