This place is awesome!! Every time I come in here, one of the staff members asks me if I need help within a minute or two. Which is great, because it means that I spend a fraction of the time looking for what I need (compared to how much time Id spend wandering the aisles without their help). The staff here are so nice and helpful and so friendly!! A few weeks ago, we came to Diamond Lake Hardware to buy about 10 bags of mulch. The man who helped us actually met us outside (wed called about 15 minutes prior to ask if they even had mulch yet, as it was the beginning of the season). He helped us load the bags of mulch into our car, then took us inside, helped us find the couple other things we needed, then got us all checked out. All in under 10 minutes. And this experience wasnt unique--I have the same experience (consistently helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable staff) every time I shop at Diamond Lake Hardware. You will NEVER want to go back to a Home Depot again after shopping here!

Love this Ace! I bought my house two years ago and was going to my neighborhood hardware store until soon after it shut down. So I moved over to ace ,my next closest neighborhood store. Best move ever. Everyone is always happy and helpful. They take time to explain and recommend exactly what I need. Load my car for me. And if by rare chance they dont have what I need they order it or find it for me somewhere else.

My girlfriend and I went to grab some painting materials and the high schoolers there hit her on incessantly, she loved it, and thus proceeded to yell at me because I dont flirt with her like that anymore. But seriously, those 15 year olds had some good game, Im glad the next generation has picked up the mantle that my generation left behind. On a serious note, service was awesome!

Purchased a new grill. Great value, absolutely amazing service. I have never had anything but great experiences shopping at this store. It is not the closest store to me, but the fantastic customer service, and knowledgeable, resourceful staff make it my store of choice. Staff is always super helpful, well worth the slightly higher prices. Considering the time you will spend waiting and trying to find someone to help you at the big box stores, you will get your moneys worth in personal service and excellent recommendations that will ultimately save you time, money, and give you peace of mind!

Friendly, family-owned, always very helpful and knowledgeable. There may be moments when you need to go to the "big box" for something specific, but overall, check here first. They have a surprising array and selection of products, prices are decent and the people are great.

Friendly and helpful staff, mostly knowledgeable. Always prefer the small guy to annoying terrible places like Home Depot even if it means a 2-5% higher price. That difference is worth avoiding the hassle and demeaning experiences of big box.

Live bait! This gem of a store with great salespeople sells live bait! Waxies, worms, a variety of minnows, etc! The closest place in the south metro if you like to hit Nokomis or Calhoun.
