I live halfway between Hudsons and a much larger Ace. While Jim may not have the selection that the other guys have, he more than makes up for it with his service and knowledgeable staff. They help you find what you need, know what products they have and how they work, and are able to help a non-handy person like me get the right parts and feel confident I can do the job. One time I went in looking for some plumbing parts to replace a coupling I couldnt get apart. Rather than sell me new parts he took 10 minutes and used the tools he had to get them apart so I wouldnt have to buy a new piece from his store. Now thats putting the customer first.

Its lucky I live within walking distance because otherwise Id be forever going out of my way to get here. A delightful place filled with truly kind and helpful people (and a cozy cat). They are always happy to teach me whatever I need for my current project while never pressuring a purchase. Its cliche, but this is the kind of place that just doesnt seem to exist anymore. Go here instead of a big box and youll never regret it.

The staff at Hudson are really knowledgeable and helpful. Theyve walked me through plumbing, electric and construction projects. They have a much better selection of fasteners than most box stores, and sell me one nut and bolt, if thats what I need. They are an asset to the neighborhood.
