James is a liar and not an upfront person .. if he represents Ypsi imports well.... Hello everyone, I am very upset at this time because I just left Ypsilanti Imports. I just had the absolute worst experience with this dealership. I contacted James about the No Money Down program a couple of weeks ago, and because I live in Detroit I made an agreement with him to send him id and income information to see if my husband and I would qualify for a vehicle so that I wouldnt have to drive out there if it wasnt feasible. He received my information, and about an hour later told me that I was approved, and to come see him that day. I made arrangements to come see him on Thursday ( today) since my husband and I were cosigning and he had to work he was fine with that and we hung up. I realized that I needed a little more clarity of what I was approved for. I called him back immediately ( we are talking 2 min folks) and he answered the phone and told me that I was approved for the no money down program.I called him before I left my job and advised him that I was on my way by messenger and text. He acknowledged my text and I proceeded to catch a Lyft right after work today to go and see him. When I get there he asked for the original check stubs and the original ids. We produced that for him. He walked around for about 20 min and then said that he would pull a car around for us to see it. Considering we didnt get a chance to talk about the financing that I was approved for I asked him to tell us what the interest rate would be and what cars we would be approved for. He took about 20 min and came back with some questions for us about our licenses. I have a TN license. He told me that MI requires that they run a check to see if a vehicle be registered, and because I have TN license he told me that he could only find one company that would finance us. This is not what he told me over the phone. He then told me that I needed 2000 dn. I advised him that he wasted my time and my money. He told me he would eat that but he is very busy and he forgets sometimes. He then said now that we are pass that what can you do about this 2000.00! At this point I had to advise him that even if I had 2000.00 surely he didnt think I would give it to him. Now I have to get back home to Detroit by Lyft again. I wouldnt spend my money at this dealership. It cost me 70.00 to get to Ypsilanti and back and he didnt even care. I could see if I hadnt been in contact with him, however he had 3 times to tell me that he hadnt run the information. I have a big issue with this. My issue is not about the money down it is about the lack of concern for what I originally requested from him. I dont have a car ... please see if you can help and instead of doing that he just lied to me. If anyone asks me about Ypsilanti imports I will advise how I was treated and will not recommend them to anyone.

I went to Ypsilanti Import Auto sales dealership on 2/27/2012, I went because I got a flyer in the mail claiming I won one out of three prizes: Car, TV, or $5000 visa gift card. Of course I knew it was too good to be true, but deiced to check it out, when I went inside I Was greeted by The Manger Chris Curtis, and I asked if I won the car. Chris told me well I defiantly won something, I didnt Know what that meant, Chris then has Dave Crawford a sales person, ask me for my personal information now I was hesitant to give my information, but Dave told me he would have to do a credit check first, Dave wrote down my social security number, not to long afterwards Chris came back after entering my information in the computer system, Chris tells me I have no credit, red flag now am worried, Chris then asked me if I was sure I gave him the right information, Yes I know my own Social security card number, In the end I asked for my personal information back, yet Chris refused and said its his information now, I felt unease with the whole situation, since Chris was belligerent and refused to give back my information, I felt like he wanted to hit me. I had to pry the paper out of Chris hand, and him and his staff cursed me and my mother as we exited the dealership. I still feel unease since I gave my social security number to a bunch of crooks and thieves. This place should be shut down for good, and if you live in Ann Arbor MI, and you receive a flyer in the mail from Ypsilanti Import Auto sales toss it in the trash since they only want to steal your information. I have never felt so threatened in my life, please shut them down before more people become victims of theft.

I bought a used Corolla here 5 years ago. It cost $5000-$7000 less than what other places were charging for a similar model...about 1/3 off the usual price! My dad was a bit suspicious, so we looked up the vin and the car had been in an accident. Well, they fixed it up to top-notch quality. I have had ZERO problems with this car after putting another 30K miles on it and using it for 5 years. We also did a full inspection that came out clean. So yes, this place keeps prices down by refurbishing cars. No, I will not be able to sell this car for what its worth given its record on file. But I dont ever plan on selling it, because the car is awesome. And it was so cheap. The service at this place is also excellent. One time I had an issue with my wipers, so I took the car to them. They found the problem in about 2 minutes and fixed it without any charge. Another time I messed up the car (burned up the clutch) as I was trying to teach my husband how to drive with manual transmission. It was totally our fault, not the cars. These guys fixed up the car for a VERY low price and did it quickly. Though you might be taking on more risk than buying from one of the big-name places, these are really great guys and overall they provide excellent service. The value is outstanding.

Only worried about the sale... they got me into a 2013 LaCrosse which is a great car only to find out that no inspection was ever done. 2 of my tires were bald, the brakes were worn all the way down, the car was never properly detailed, and there is rubbing noise in the front end that no one seems to hear or is able to fix. The owner is very shady and will tell you what you want to hear to shut you up. But once the financing is done and you drive off the lot, its basically F*** the customer. I bought the car in march and have had to bring the car in almost 3 times a month since. Do yourself a favor and dont set yourself up with these scam artist. You can get good financing as WELL as good service elsewhere
