This review is specific to the Bowman auto body shop. I have had good experiences with the dealership’s sales and service departments. My car was struck in the LH quarter by a teen driver who ran a red light. After reading reviews and seeing some very good examples of work, I selected Bowmans auto body department to do the repairs. As part of the repair, the LH rear quarter sheet metal was replaced along with the rear fascia and bumper beam. The trunk lid was straightened and repainted. The LH tail lamp assembly was also replaced. The first time I was told my car was ready to be picked up, I drove across town in rush hour traffic on a Friday. It was parked in the shade of the building on a bright sunny day, and it was missing a badge from the rear deck lid. The repairs looked decent enough at a glance, but this was also in the shade. When I went inside to pick up the car I found out they had never put the car on an alignment rack to make sure the rear suspension was not damaged in the collision. This was specifically discussed beforehand. I left, went home figuring I only lost the time to drive there and I would pick the car up the following week. I was traveling for work the following week so my wife picked the car up for me. She mentioned a smell in the car but I didnt think much about it. When I arrived home I was not happy with what I saw or smelled. There was an awful smell in the car somewhat like ammonia (glass cleaner) which persisted and was so strong I could barely even drive the car with the windows down. The paint color match was not good; the quarter was obviously a different color than the rest of the car. There were numerous contaminants in the paint which were clearly below the color coat and obviously on the surface when it was painted. There were buff marks and overspray on the trim. The LH taillight fitment to the quarter panel was poor, with the contour of the lamp housing not matching the quarter and appearing not to fit correctly. To top it off the trunk would not close after the first time opening it, as the latch had been damaged and not replaced. I managed to get the trunk latch freed up and working, only to discover substantial water in the bottom of the trunk (spare tire well). These were not at all what I had expected out of a dealership body shop I had specifically selected due to their good reputation and examples of their work. Via E-mail, I arranged to bring the car in to have these looked at and meet with the manager on a Monday morning. I took time off work specifically to meet with Larry, and unfortunately when I arrived that Monday morning Larry was too busy (in a meeting) to meet with me. I aired all my concerns to Christine, and was promised Larry would call me as soon as his meeting was over. They did have a loaner available for me as I had asked for, so I left my car and went to work. Larry did call, near the end of the day, and he agreed to take a look at the car and fix the water leak, latch, and color match issues. The next time I was told my car was ready, on a Wednesday, I planned to pick it up again on a Monday. The shop called me as I was leaving the house, informing me they found more water in the trunk and would again need to look at the water leak. 10 days later, I was told the car was again ready for me to come pick up. The leak had been fixed and the trunk latch replaced as it should have been the first time. The paint on the quarter was still light, just marginally better than it was before. The taillight fitment, buff marks on the trim, and smell in the car had not been addressed at all. At this point I was about 10 weeks on this process and completely done dealing with it. I gave up. Larry did call after I took the car home, and I told him exactly how I felt: “It’s not acceptable, but I’m done dealing with it”. Take my advice and find a better body shop, if you can.

I contacted Bowman Chevrolet regarding one of their listings on Autotrader on 6/17/15. A 2015 Silverado fully loaded Alpine Edition, listed for $43K and change. I spoke with the internet sales coordinator initially who then transferred me to a sale representative by the name of Kirk Fields. Everything was great in dealing with Kirk initially. I explained to Kirk that I didnt not want to have a bait and switch or a bidding war story pulled on me so please make sure everything is as it seems. He gave me all of the info on the vehicle, stock number, vin, even the out the door price so I could give to my bank for financing. Kirk needed some additional info from my side which I provided the next day, 6/18/15, in the morning. I spoke with my bank to have the check ready and close my end of the deal and then receive a phone call from Kirk, later in the day 6/18/.15, saying there is a problem with the deal. The truck has a supposed $15K package that was not listed in his file for that particular truck and he didnt realize it until he went to go get the truck have it prepped for delivery. I explained to Kirk that that was not my problem and that they had listed it at that price and even gave the out the door price to give to the bank for financing. I informed him that in my business, construction management, if I quote a price and later find out I messed up that I have to eat that cost. Kirk and the people at John Bowman didnt stand behind their quote, their word or their advertised price. They backed out of the deal and basically pulled a bait and switch with a falsely advertised vehicle. I do not recommend dealing with these guys as they are the typical snake in the grass car sales group. They have bad business philosophies and practices.

Bowman Chevrolet went above and beyond! I purchased a used Chevrolet Traverse from a "sister company" to Bowman Chevrolet in February 2014. Over the course of about 3 months there were several issues that came up and the dealership was NOT handling the situation. I contacted Rhonda Jensen and Brian Burke after several weeks of getting no where and they stepped up like no other!!! They truly went above and beyond and took care of me and my concerns. I am so incredibly grateful for the efforts they made to rectify the situation. Not only did they send a driver to drop off a rental and pick my vehicle up for repair, but, they took care of ALL of the issues that I was having with the vehicle. Then they had my car returned to me and picked the rental up. I also spoke with the service manager, Jimmy Roy, who was so professional and understanding of the situation. He to went above and beyond. He followed up not only the night I originally spoke with him, but again the following day to make sure I was put in touch with the proper person to help with the situation. After hearing the details of the situation they told me that is not how they do business and that customer service is priority. They werent kidding! I am so impressed with the professional and compassionate staff that I encountered at Bowman Chevrolet. I tell anyone and everyone looking for a car that this is where they need to go! Thank you Bowman Chevrolet!
