In all honesty, the food is amazing. By far greatest Mexican food I have ever had. Also, everything is at an extremely cheap price which makes it all the better. Unfortunately, the service is horrendous. The servers are not polite, use improper serving etiquette, and do not specify important details when taking orders. For example, if the restaurant runs out of a certain meat, you will not find out until you order it. The servers should indicate when the restaurant is out of certain meats before taking your order. Another example is that the servers do not indicate that the restaurant charges for water until you receive your bill. Side note: Mexican restaurants with (the best) spicy avocado/jalapeno sauce should offer water for free. This restaurant sells its food at such a low cost they should offer free water and raise their prices just a little (tacos, quesadillas, etc.) Overall 2/5 stars from me. The past 3 weeks I have come to this restaurant they have been out of goat every time and beef once. The servers overcharged me $7 by accident and I caught it before it was too late. 2 of the past 3 times my friends dined at this establishment the servers got our orders wrong by ordering the wrong food/wrong amounts of food. This all happened when they were not even too busy as well. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years now. I remember when they used to be located at their small location with only a few tables to this new, larger location. I will not be dining at this restaurant until management straightens things out. The service is unacceptable and I am taking my business elsewhere. Thank you for the excellent food the past several years, though.

We all know the word AUTHENTIC gets overused in reviews, but I scanned the multiple reviews, from several and thought why not. Im not an adventurous Mexican Food eater , So I avoided the lips-tongue cheek selections. Ordered a Carnita [ pork ] Taco $1.57 * $1.00 on Wednesdays Also ordered a chicken & cheese quesadilla for $2.99 which resembled a gordita on steroids , love that it had grill marks & came folded. Knowing I was a first timer she asked if I wanted mild or hot sauce on the side, YES PLEASE! Both were great! Now to go back & dine in & try the enchiladas ! just a note: it is a restaurant & grocery do NOT come expecting the Whitney, it is just solid, very good food. Now to try the newer bigger location soon!

Authentic, delicious and fairly priced! I moved here from Texas and Im VERY picky when it comes to Mexican food. I found this place when it was an even smaller hole in the wall down the street from its current location and I was instantly impressed. Only a few tables and mexican botlled coke loaded with sugar in the fridge. YES, PLEASE! The staff is very friendly and pleasant. The service is ocassionally slow but its only because theyre swamped and may not have a full staff. Nothing to make a fuss about because the food is worth it once you dig in. Try the devil guacamole sauce if youre into spicy!

Im from Mexico an recently moved here to the USA and I can say that the food is the most authentic mexican Ive gotten so far. Id say 95% real mexican food and tacos. I dont give it 100% because the ingredients are a bit different. In mexico everything is much more fatty and some ingredients used for the pastor are not allowed here in the us also all the meat and tortillas in mexico are basically wet in oil wich is not very healthy but here is a plus. Nevertheless if you want real mexican food this is the place.

The food is the best true Mexican food you will find in this area. Its a no frills place with food that is sttaight from Mexico. Im a big mexican food fan and have tried over 20 mexican restaurants. THIS PLACE IS BY FAR THE BEST. Not only is the food the best the service was good as well. I suggest going on Wednesday to get $1.00 tacos. They arent the American version they are true Mexican tacos wrapped with the best corn tortillas north of the border. You choice of meat my favorite is the marinaded pork.

A week earlier my girlfriend and I were craving Mexican food so we went to all the so called " best in the area " but could not get a seat . Then I saw this place and we deciced to try it and the name did sound familiar . We had the most flavorful food . The service and soup and my dinner was not to be believed . This place had the best tasting rice I ever had . Usually the rice is just pushed aside but not this rice . Try it you wont be disappointed .

Excellent variety of protein options, everything is authentic and delicious. I recommend the buche, lenga, and barbacoa da chivos. The carnitas and chorizo are also tasty if want something standard. I avoid the beef, steak, and chicken as theyre kind of bland and the steak is tuff. I think they only make these 3 for the white customers who dont want to leave their comfort zone. Highly recommend, and try something different!

Cant beat this place. Mi pueblo in Mexican town is very similar. Catne asada tacos are incredible and i actually eat the beans and ruce. 3 different flavorable salsas that are top notch authentic and Americanized. Only thing this place is missing is good chips. Chips are terrible. If they got great chips, it would be hard not to eat here every meal.

I just moved to the area. I herd some ppl talk about how good this place is. So we tried it, and WOW!!! The most authentic mexican food i have ever had in my life!!! I have tried so many places and this one tops them all! The price is so dirt cheap for how much food you get from the dinner menu. If your in the area stop by and give this place a chance.

Fantastic tamales, get them fresh and take some to go. EXCELLENT Cubano Torta (Tortuga). My familys favorite is the Quesedillas con pollo. But Las Tortugas has THE best Lengua tacos that I have ever had. Very beefy flavor, but just looks and tastes like shredded beef. It is easy to win over those who have not had really good Lengua.
