Hello, I recently visited the Portage, MI Joanns Fabric on Sunday July 30 at 11:50ish am. While browsing I found this amazing deal for a rose colored cricuit light for $0.01 after the store had a hard time locating one they finally found them. However, I was shocked when the stores personal told me it was $79.99 when it was clearly marked $0.01 and when I rang up box it was $0.01. The manager (Fran) then rolled her eyes and goes everyone knows it would be more than a $0.01 (obviously not me cause I have found things on clearance or on sale for a penny before). The store associate took me to the aisle to show me the price sticker that was not there, she even used her walkie talkie to communicate with Mgr and said price is not listed except for the $0.01. Saying I can see how you got confused the only sticker is for the display box. I went back up and finish my purchase while Fran was glaring at me. Fran then decided to go see if we missed the sticker for the actual purchase, she never came back up to the front so I assume she didnt find it like us. First, I was so disheartened by the treatment of mgmt staff that I turned to Facebook messenger because I didnt want it to be public I thought the mgr just needed guidance. I received a call and explain the situation to Donna the store manager. She stuck up for Fran told me how shes such a nice lady she had talked to Fran and she said she was flustered and her words didnt come out like she wanted. My question was if she was so nice and didnt mean to come off like this why did she roll her eyes. The manager then started telling me oh theres a sticker there I tried to explain it wasnt there the prior day I have a picture. She tells me over and over oh no there was a sticker there. I felt at this point like she was calling me a liar. She was rude and it seemed very obvious I was just a bothered task on her to do list. I asked her point blank you will not give it to me for the advertised price (which is Michigan law) and she offered me it for 50% off. I then decided after being treated so badly by mgmt at this location that I felt the home office of Joanns needed to know. I have been in the customer service industry for 12 years (which is my entire adult career). I never been treated so poorly by mgmt before. I had a great conversation with their customer service department and she let me know I would have a call back within 24-48 hours. After waiting over 72 hours I decided to again Facebook message them. After the weekend I got a call back the lady apologized for me not getting my call back but then told me I should have waited the 48 hours which I did and some. After letting her know of how unhappy I felt of my overall experience and dealings with their mgmt team she too brushed me off until I told her Im making my story public for the world to see and hear. She called me back an hour later and offered it to me for the 50% off then an additional 20% off. I told her if I wouldnt have been so mistreated I would have accepted the offer and been gracious. However after having a MGR roll her eyes, another one accuse me of lying, a promised call and no call back, and have to tell them Im taking this to social media I get offered a better deal. Well Im starting a new crafting business with my best friend, and Im getting married next October (Im personally making all crafts and decorations). I can tell you that the people at Michaels and Hobby Lobby (literally in the same parking lot) will get my business in turn my money. Thanks but no thanks Jo-Ann your bad customer service just lost you a guest for life.. Losing my money may not hurt your business but I sure hope my post does cause its awful that we get treated this way.

These guys are my home base for my quilt fabric needs. I kind of wish they had more fashion fabrics but i understand that the area interest is not focused on fashion enough to support such things. I am there at least once a week. Friendly staff. Clean and organized store. Even customers are friendly. An odd crafters home away fron home.

This store has a wide variety of seeing and craft supplies. It is not one that offers framing, or classes. It has the largest amount of upholstery fabric in the area. Not all staff is knowledgeable about seeing and fabric issues.
