So many great things to love about Home Depot. My favorite may be the workshop for kids. Weve been bringing our oldest since they began in 1997 and we are still coming 20 years later with our 6-year-old son. All 3 of our kids have loved and benefited from these workshops. (Lapeers Kids W.S. is found in the lumbar dept.) Weve built many projects over the years, courtesy of the Home Depot, and done many home improvement projects. Their prices are usually quite reasonable and last I knew they price matched, which any company willing to match a competitors price, is worth my time and money. My biggest, and really only, complaint about the Home Depot (but often a big deal breaker), is that when you NEED help, it is often SO difficult to find an employee. I swear it is like they know you need help and they run and hide. I have literally called and asked for help from inside the store before. More than once!! Once, I did this, and I still waited so long that I finally left. Its absolutely ridiculous. And the bad part about Lapeer is that they know they have you because there is nowhere else in town for you to go. With this thought in mind, I do sometimes choose other places over them (usually Self-Serve) because customer service can and does make or break the deal. The Home Depot Lapeer does have a nice garden center. The whole store is well kept and clean. (And smells good.) The bathrooms are also well-kept and clean. Not uni-sex.The staff you do encounter is very friendly and helpful and if they cannot help you, they will find some who can. Like most Home Depots, the set up seems familiar so you are not wandering aimlessly like you can do at Walmart. Also like most, the store has a hot dog seller at the exit, and the other reason my children like to go.

We use this store for all our basic home supplies paint ect. Never have a problem people are friendly. However this will be the second time we have attempted to purchase an appliance, first they have no product on site, so dont plan to run pick up a dryer cause yours broke and you need it now. If you have time no problem few days wait, but at this point you will have to spend at least 30 to 50 minutes filling out forms. And as friendly as these ladies are. I am here to make a purchase not visit. Seeing baby pics and sharing every aspect of your life. Not to mention as I stand on the side lines waiting my turn. As they share these stories and pictures. And no one even acknowledges we are waiting or that will be with us shortly. This is a business first, as long as its not busy share and socialize all you want. If others are waiting stop and finish you paperwork. We ended up at Menards were we walked in made purchase loaded and were home in a quarter of the time. Yes same product. Yes be friendly but I am here to make a purchase not socialize..

BUYER BEWARE!!! Home Depot offers installation, but they do not use Home Depot workers. The delivery is outsourced. We were to have a dishwasher delivered and installed. I took the day off of work because the Company gives you a 4 hour window and mine was between 3pm and 7pm (no they do not let you change it) On the first attempt, the "installer" said we needed a longer hose. (they did not have any extra parts on the truck). The "installer" did not bother to look at my current hook up. They took the dishwasher back on the truck and left. Forward to one week later and now the window is between 7am and 11am. The new "installer" said that because there was "no clear line of sight" they could not install. Plus my brand new dishwasher stayed on their truck all week and now looks like a floor model. Great Job Home Depot!!!! Sears installed my last dishwasher with no problem. I went with Home Depot for price and convenience. I would not recommend buying anything that you cannot install yourself.

My husband and I are here frequently, but I thought I would share something that I saw today: We were paying for our items in the garden center and ahead of us in line was an elderly lady. She paid for her purchase and Stan ( who was the cashier) told her that he knew it was heavy for her, so just pull up in her car and he would bring it to her. He also was doing everything he could to help another customer get some mulch which had not been unloaded from the delivery truck yet. He then cheerfully rang up our stuff. The lady pulled up in her car and he brought her item out to her and put it on her front seat of her car. It was just one of the MANY times that I have noticed employees doing that little extra thing that means so much! Home Depot might be a big box store, but they sure know how to make you feel welcome and appreciated. Way to go Stan!!!

I love the lapeer Home Depot!! I will always go out of my way to make sure this is the Home Depot I go to!! Daryl that works there is always very helpful. You can tell he cares about his job, he knows a lot about various products. We have bout our John deer Zero turn, Weed Wacker, and now tonight our Grill and power washer and every time he is helpful. I work in sales so when I have a bad experience trust me I make it known! Just as if I was to give someone a bad experience at my job I would hope they would make it known. I give this Home Depot two thumbs way up

Moved here from shelby twp. it is a very nice area just need more efficient workers. We have had many problems and customer service is one of them. They hire 60 yr. Old women and expect them to do the work of 30 year old guy. Make sure on all orders is the right product. Bought carpet and last role to install wasnt even same carpet and all went in same room. please home depot hire sum legit workers not 60 year old women

Manager on duty, Joe, refused to match and beat a price by 10% . The other store was a brick and mortar store that , like Home Depot offered free shipping on this LG dishwasher. This is not what I understand their price match policy to be. Manager Joe did all of this over the phone through another associate! Wouldnt even take the time to talk to me directly. Not happy with this terriblec customer service!

Went in to discuss new kitchen remodel-nobody wanted to help me. When someone finally showed up they required a measurement to take place prior to her even talking about cabinet options etc..... I came prepared with measurement so that I could discuss and compare prices. quite honestly it appeared as if I was an inconvenience to them. I will inquire on other options. Very disappointed

I ordered snowblower online and when I went to the store to pick it up it took them over 30min to find my order and the workers were very slow at getting it the young men were in no horry they stopped to talk to another worker. I was not very happy with how they helped me.
