Unfortunately this ace is is not all that good. The main problem is they pay their people minimum wage or close to it. Do you know a knowledgeable helpful person willing to work for minimum wage? No, I didnt think so. So the paint department is really hit and miss. Sometimes you can get a kid at his first job just killing it going way above and beyond but normally its a retiree who doesnt want to be there and cant use computers to program the mix or cant identify the right type of paint base for a particular color. Nevermind the half hour waiting to get it mixed. Next, their Stihl dealership. I was so excited to have a Shihl equipment dealer so close. Well... their prices are top tier on Stihl. Sadly, their service is bottom tier. Do you know an excellent mechanic willing to work for minimum wage? No, I didnt think so. They were supposed to call me with an estimate before repairing my machine, weeks later they called and said "Its done!" They charged me more than I wanted to pay and they were unable to produce the used parts which I could have re-used. Another time I placed an order for parts, was told it would be a week. I waited six weeks, still no parts. Come to find out they dont order parts until they have thousands of dollars worth so they can get a break on the shipping cost. Great for them bad for me. Im trying to run a business and I need to make repair to my equipment regardless of shipping cost. Finally on their tubing sold by the foot. I purchased some 0.25" tubing rated for 180 degrees. A hot water feed to a humidifier. I installed the tubing, it expanded several inches and burst from the 120 degree water from my water heater. They purchased cheap tubing and didnt bother replacing the literature on their display. Lucky I caught it before flooding my house. Then there is the rest of the hardware, VERY high prices and a rather limited selection. I cant bring myself to shop here anymore, its more for Mary Poppins looking for a lawn sprinkler or a gift for her nephew.

My husband and I had the best experience this past weekend at Ace Hardware in Delaware. We went to the store for a couple things for our house. We are in the process of getting a patio installed and asked the store manager Laurel if they had any patio sets on sale. She gave us a great deal on a patio set (half off!!), already assembled, and to top it off dropped off the table and chairs to our house (no charge!) due to our car not being able to fit everything. The customer service we experienced was great and would recommend anyone to this location. Cant wait to enjoy our new patio set! ....Oh and see gave us free grass bags!

I have never had a positive experience at this Ace. The people have always been terribly rude and the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! Everything in the store must be laced with gold. They dont care about helping you as they say in their slogan "ace the helpful hardware place". They care about stealing every drop of your hard earned money on their over priced crap. $7.99 for a roll of packing tape that doesnt work. $15.99 for window film that doesnt work, $9.99 for a 1x4 thats warped...The quality of their products is terrible. I pray every day for a lowes or Home Depot to come to Delaware.

Depends on whos working. Listened to the old guy be rude with the person in front of me for no reason (about a rental truck) and then refuse to let me exchange a bottle of oil for a different weight because I didnt have a receipt, its Ace branded oil. Lost my business over a $2 bottle of chainsaw oil, too many places in town to be treated like that.

I rented a 20 truck for moving and returned it to Ace. I called ahead and was told I could drop it off there. When I showed up the employee who deals with the u-hauls was very rude. He acted like needed to give him my first born because he helped me. I am new to Delaware and I will never shop there again. I wish I could give no stars!!!!

Great customer service but HORRIBLE PRICES! Its a shame this is the only hardware store in North Delaware.
