My husband and I recently purchased a number of items from Art Van in Howell, including a dining room table & chairs set with a matching server and a master bedroom set. Most of the pieces were delivered to our home damaged. One of the chairs had to be delivered 4 times because they kept sending damaged chairs. The headboard of the bed had to be delivered 3 times. In addition to those, the footboard of the bed and the server had to be replaced 1 time each. I discussed the quality (or lack thereof) with the Howell store manager. She was very nice to me and somewhat apologetic. However, I still dont understand how so many pieces of furniture can be delivered with such obvious flaws. Art Van needs to take a serious look at instituting better quality control. Not only do they waste their own time and resources re-delivering items, but they wasted a lot of my time as well. I really like the furniture that we picked out; that is why I decided to keep trying until I received un-damaged pieces. If you are buying from Art Van, you need to be prepared to scrutinize your furniture when it is delivered to your home and be prepared to have replacement pieces delivered.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible! Not sure why I expected anything more than terrible. I know theres always a buyers beware especially with a business like furniture sales. Our salesman assured us over and over that the material of the furniture we were looking at was great for kids/pets. I asked about the material holding up and he said it was great & we shouldnt have any issues. After less than 6 months of owning the living room furniture we had to call about the (extra) warranty that we purchased due to a peeling affect on it. Of course its not covered under warranty but they would love to fix it for us...only a 1 week turn around without a couch. Never again will I buy furniture from this company again. Im a one time customer and ashamed to even say that Ive used them once. I know many local companies would stand behind their product.

The sales staff is OK, but they are not honest about their products and completely do not stand behind the quality (or nonquality) of their products. I bought a not-cheap dining room table that the sales person said should be able to have normal dishes (not hot pans) on it and within 2 months the table had numerous scratches and marks on it with very little use. They had someone check it out and will not stand behind the warranty they talked up at the store. The table wood is extremely soft-- even though the sales person sold it as being a high quality table. They basically are not willing to be responsible for the products they sell. I will never buy there again.

Bought a mattress a few years ago. It came with a cover that when we purchased we were told that we could bring in anytime and have it replaced on the spot. My wife tried doing it for the first time today and was told that we now have to call a phone number for replacement and the policy has changed. I get changing stuff but promises should be upheld to previous customers. We spent over $2000 that day. We are currently moving to a new house and are in need of new furniture for our living room and finished basement and will be taking that business somewhere that stands by their promises, which isnt Art Van.

Art Van! I love to hate this company. I love that every sale advertisment gets everyone interested and hate that every sale is a scam. Why is their furniture so expensive? and why are their sales people trained to be like flys on crap? When I walk in to this store I initally want to buy everything, yet get scared off by bad sales people (please leave me alone). What is the training like for this company? Whats even worse, and I will give it to them, they have the best furniture to offer that you dont have to build yourself. Way to go Art Van! You win and you are still an awful company.

Bought a leather couch & chair from these people, big mistake.So called leather turned out to be what they call bonded leather. Couch started to crack & peel after a yr and 1/2.just after warranty expired. $2700. for a piece of junk...Dont buy from these people

I came in looking for a mattress for my toddler and was helped right away by a man named Art. He was very knowledgeable and personable. The mattress was delivered the next day and my son was so excited to see it all set up. Its comfortable and was affordable!
