First the good. The parts department is amazing. Helpful staff, good prices, and fast service. Now the bad. I went in on 8/7/15 for a new rear tire. I decided to have the shop put it on because I didnt want to mess with it. I called ahead a few days to set an appointment, because who wants to wait. I have had issues with other shops so I made sure I documented a few things before handing over the keys. I ride with a Gopro so I just filmed myself showing that the rear end of my bike was in good order. The change itself took over forty minutes, that seems like a long time for a single tire to me. After it was all said and done, I rode to my house and noticed a jingling sound on the trip home. I pulled into my garage and sure enough the chain and lock nuts were out of adjustment. The sound was from the plates that the nuts tighten against vibrating all over the place. Just to sure I also put a torque wrench on the rear axle nut and found issue there too. If I had to guess, whoever did it just got it as tight as they could with a wrench. Not even close to the specs. I of course, got it all on Gopro. I called and left a message for the manager of the service department, but havent gotten a reply yet. If you value your safety, I wouldnt have your bike worked on here. Update: 8/12/15 I revived a call form Mike, the manager of the service department. He apologized not only for the time it took to get back to me me, but for the whole situation. He told me they would go through their safety requirements again and as a way to make things right he not only refunded the tire change, but also the tire and offered a discount on my next service. I will update once more once the refund is received. I appreciate the call back and will be giving Village Motorsports another shot. Update: 8/14/15 Refund received, thanks again to Village Motorsports for caring about your customers.

I have a 1984 Honda shadow vt700 had a problem backfiring took to village motorsports on plainfield because after calling around I found they were the only shop not busy,I was told by thier service manager they could get it right in and they would be able to tell me whats wrong right away within 2 days I took bike in on 6-2-10 thinking I would know whats wrong and would soon be riding. Well after no call for 3 days I decided to call they said problem was in ignition because they couldnt get it to power up.After I explained the recall on 84 ignition bowls and told them to push down and turn key they got power. Then no call back that monday 6-7-10 I called They said it was 175.00$ to get my bike after they did nothing.I then went up there and talked to sales manager who talked to service manager and said it would be 75.00$ to get my bike so I paid them to be done with them. They pushed my bike out and it was burned up wiring, Fenders, passenger peddle,And rear underneath fender they said it backfired out of carb.I told them I wasnt taking bike in that condition I rode it there and wasnt able to leave key on kept blowing fuses.Called next day and said it was done went there and all they did was tape burnt wiresand they fried my paint off rear fender so hot it cracked also side cover for air element.offered 75.00$that i already paid plus 75.00$ from them to forget it I told them the damage was more they wouldnt take care of it so I filled small claims well see what the judge says.......update on 7-27-2010 I won case at 63 district court village motorsports was held liable for 1075.00$ better than the original 75.00$ they offered me.Only good thing to be said is the great service I recieved from michael white trying to get this resolved. general manager was very rude to my wife at a boy way to show a girl whos boss. the judge didnt find your comment very funny.

This has been the best experience Ive had with a motorsports dealer! I live nearer to Kalamazoo than I do Grand Rapids and thus I made contact with Village via email. Unlike most dealers they were more than happy to deal with me via email and telephone. Their initial offer was better than anyone elses and they were confident, friendly, and low-pressure. I made the trip up and met with Harley Parmenter, the sales guy Id been dealing with via email. He introduced me to the sales manager Mike White and Parts/Accessories manager Aaron Katz; both seemed genuinely excited to see a new customer. Harley knew which bike I was interested in and despite not having dealt with the bike before made sure to brush up on this model (SV650) and was able to answer the technical questions I had that no other dealer was able to. He also made sure the bike was fully set up and pulled out of the rows before I got there. Everyone in the shop seemed knowledgeable and customer driven and so I decided to purchase from them. I next rode my trade up and they gave me a very fair value for it. In the "dreaded" finance office, Pat was awesome. He made sure I knew about and understood all of my options but didnt push too hard. He carefully explained both the value and the cost. Post purchase support has been excellent as well. Aaron Katz in parts helped me and my fiance to purchase new sets of riding gear. He made suggestions where we needed help and made sure to get everything in on our narrow timelines. When we would come in to pick things up he always had them set aside so we could easily and quickly try the stuff on. There was no hassling when special ordered items needed to be sent back for exchange; getting the newer items quickly. TL;DR: Ive never been to a more friendly and helpful shop. Theyve gained a customer for life (even despite the long distance).

Sales guys are pleasant to talk to and dont put on the typical salesman attitude seen at most dealerships, but Ive been talking to some of their previous customers that have purchased used and theyve been telling me to stay away from their Used inventory and the Service department. One guy has had his bike in the shop for weeks for something he claims would have taken him just a few hours to do himself(but didnt because he had full coverage warranty). Not to mention that there were a bunch of things wrong with the bike that should have been picked up had they inspected the bike when they got it, but wouldnt have been noticed during a pre-ride check. He claims the only good guys at the shop are the guys at the parts counter and thats all hes ever going back there for. I also noticed that some of their posts on facebook have gone missing after the owners of the Bikes/ATVs had replied to the picture saying something broke... kinda shady IMO despite having people back the dealership up. My Fiance and I have decided that if we do buy Motorcycles from them, itll be something brand new, but for now well just be picking used ones off of craigslist to learn on and doing any maintenance to them ourselves.
