I took my car here on 1.31.13 when my car had a tie rod end snap inside of a Wayne State parking garage. Generally I work on my own car but given the winter temperatures and my current schedule I took it to University Auto based on a suggestion of a friend who has had work done in here in the past. Overall I wouldnt hesitate to recommend University Auto to someone else! Yaya(one of the two managers) was able to get me in and back on the road within an afternoon. The price was fair and he gave me a first time customer discount but I think they provide discounts to students according to their business card. As a car guy I dont really trust any shop but Yaya was very personable with me(he happened to own the same car as me too!) and gave me a sense of confidence many other shops wouldnt! He also accommodated my request on getting my preferred brand for the replacement part. If youre in a pinch, need your car fixed and live in the Midtown/Woodbridge/WSU area take your car here!

NEVER AGAIN! engine light was on...engine light disappeared NOT because they fixed the problem but because they broke the light!!!! yes they may have cheaper prices than other places and yes they are friendly (but why wouldnt they be) but you do not want to go there...horrible at jobs that require any diagnosis.payed over $350 to fix what they thought was the problem...ended up going there three times because the light wont go away...then last time was the charm they said they fixed it and then the dashboard lights were all out... coincidence??!! finally took it to the dealership and apparently the dashboard clusters were broken (which is at least $500) and the part that was replaced by University Auto had broken wiring and that was the problem all along so I had to fix that as well...yeah so do not go there!!!

Terrible customer service. I had given my car to them twice, and they did not even take a look at it in seven hours! In last December, I dropped off my car in the morning to change my fuel filter. They said they will call me back. At 6 oclock at night I went there and found nothing was done at all. On the top of that, they charged 10 dollars just for nothing! Three month later, same incident. Kept my car for six hours and did not even give me an estimate, let alone look at my car. The front guy is always inattentive, and indecisive. They used my own car to give me a drop off, which shows utter unprofessionalism. Fortunately, I took it to Downtown Mobil on Mich Ave, and they fixed it within 15 minutes.

I took my truck in for a minor repair and was told by the owner that my warranty would not cover the repair I needed, I was charged $321.00 for what I found out the next day should have cost less than $100.00 , I didnt feel good about what he told me so I called my warranty company and was told by my company that it was billed $838.00 for two major part that was not replaced on my truck.so not only did he over charge me he also charged my warranty company for a job he Did not do . I will never use this service again . And will not recommend any one to take their vehicle to this place .

Its like fitting new sails on a sinking ship: Brought in for a repair, the mechanic informed us that the starter engine had burned out. After replacing that for $300 plus, he informs us that the engine has seized up and that there was no oil! Strange, since the oil light never came on, nor did the this well maintained van show any other symptomatic indication of oil loss. If your auto is towed here, my advice is that you get on the blower and have it towed anywhere else for repair immediately. Dont let them touch it!

Place is charging way too much for their parts. Apparently they are under new management. Took them 3 days to diagnose my car, and I physically walked into the shop to get the information. They then quoted me for things I didnt need and kept telling me how fair their prices are. Went to a different mechanic and saved nearly $200. Its a shame cause I live in Midtown and would really like to support local business, but this place makes me take my money to the suburbs. Please Beware!!!

This is the best mechanic shop ive ever seen till know im a wayne state student my car broke down a couple days ago ,the problem was from the engine so they fixed it for me in a fair price and with a 20% discount with a good service ,this is the only place from kw on im gonna go to , To fix my car and the owner amin he is the most honest person and even gives very good prices and deal

I dropped my car off this morning to get a lot of work done. Brakes (front and back), rotors (front and back), wheel bearings (front and back), calipers, muffler. University Auto came highly suggested by a friend of mine. They do fantastic work and are so friendly. My car rides great and my family is safe. Thank you, University Auto Care! TOP NOTCH SERVICE!

Online their hours say they open at 7am but on there front door it says they open at 7:30 everyday except for Mondays. Regardless, its 8:02 am and while the open sign is on all of the gates and doors are locked. I came here on a recommendation but so far it doesnt look good

Super Fast, Very Affordable. Work was well done, and they offered me the 20% new customer discount without my even asking! I will definitely be coming back if I have any more car repair needs. I have a 2000 Ford Focus, and needed shocks and a full tune-up.
