I love Barnes and Noble, as well as my husband. We invest a lot of our time and money into this store. However, we are not currently pleased with our latest transaction. We bought a nook, warranty and all. My husband then dropped said Nook and cracked the screen. Originally we were told with in 14 days, no matter what happens we can bring it back to the store... So we did in the 11th day. They made us ship it to their manufacture, which was semi annoying, but we agreed. We called the number that they provided us and we were told that we have to pay for the replacement nook and shipping upfront. When we explained we had the warranty the lady told us she still need a major credit card. We asked why and were told it was just how they did it. however we an elder up getting disconnected and when we called back the second lady said we didnt need a credit card, just print out the label, send our nook back and get a replacement... So we did. We shipped it and tracked it and they got it on the 21st and we were told it would take two weeks to get it back. Two weeks came and went, no nook. We called back and even though they got it on the 21st they didnt process it until the 29th We were then told its another few weeks. Basically we needed that nook, sent out way in advanced so we would get it way before the date we needed it, that date has already went by and no nook and no one can help us. All we get is a were sorry. I still love this store but the book and the warranty was just a lie after lie. If you get the warrenty, you dont deal with barnes and noble you deal with another company thats not on the same page as what you were told and what they want to do.... Disapointed

I found an educational book for my child on AMAZON and searched for it to compare the price at the Holyoke Barnes and Noble...I wanted to have it sooner than it would ship. I found it on line and it was the same price! I called the store and the woman that assisted me was very nice, she found the book and said that it would be waiting for me up front...this was great service!!! In fairness, I did not verify the price with her, I didnt see the need due to the price being what it was with no small print that I could see. I stopped by and the book was there as promised. Again, the young lady that was at the register was very nice, but shared the price was different on line due to shipping. I questioned this because the difference was $5.00...they do not pay $5.00 per book shipped to the store. She went on to say that a lot of customers get confused re: this...not to sound arrogant, but how are we confused? Well, I did not buy the book and will go back to AMAZON to purchase it...based on order amount or Prime membership AMAZON ships for FREE and honors their pricing! :) This is a bit sad for a couple of reasons...this is one reason people are visiting store less and less, its easier on line and if this werent an activity book requiring that you write in it, I would simply buy it for my Kindle, as I have many books...save a tree!

I looked up the book I wanted and the site said they would have it. I went to the store and they did not have it. This was a little annoying. The store itself is small as Barnes & Nobles go but its a nice enough place with a nice little coffee shop in front. One thing to note is there is no bathroom here. I found this strange and annoying. If you need facilities go to the Red Robin next door.

Whats not to love about Barnes & Noble! Its a great quiet place to escape the craziness of everyday life! So wether u want to get lost in that novel you never got around to buying or skimming thru 1 of the million mags while sipping a grande Latte, I can go on and on!! Things are however a bit pricey, so enjoy what u can in store!!

The comment is actually about the Starbucks which operates inside of Barnes and Noble. Im sorry to say I find the Barris Tasvv a bit rude. I guess a 53 cent tip does not require thank you these days. If someone handed me 53 centsI I would say thank you

Typical Barnes and Noble. Served as a meeting point for me when meeting friends just off the freeway in Western Massachusetts. Perfect location, with restaurants next door / nearby. We ended up buying books and a jigsaw puzzle!

My son loves it upstairs. They have a Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway for some free playtime. Its fun and you could spend a couple hours at a time without noticing.

I love coming to Barnes and Nobel to study. There is a Starbucks inside and plenty to oogle at when you are taking a break from your text books and computer screen.
