Living in Avon, its been a challenge to find a decent local comic store (Richies in Waterbury, Heroes&Hitters in Rocky Hill, and Eye Opener in Newington are all awesome, but quite far for a weekly commute). I was in Hartford so I figured Id roll over to Manchester last Wednesday to get new comics. When I got to Newbury Comics I sighed, seeing a lot of apparel and no banquet tables piled with long boxes (the staple of any half-decent comic store). There are literally two magazine racks of comics stowed away in a back corner, and get this, the racks are so tight together, and comics jammed so tightly in that every--single--spine--was bent, no, thats not right. They were absolutely destroyed. I understand the industry is a dying one, but why disrespect it so? I walked out without making a purchase. I buy comics to collect them, if I didnt care about bent spines and wrinkled covers Id skip paper all together and go digital. NOT A COMIC BOOK STORE, the owners and employees DO NOT CARE ABOUT COMICS! If you do, do not go here!

Being from Massachusetts new berry comics is one of those stores that i could get lost in for hours. This one was meh. The music there is its only redeeming quality. They do not seem to have comics in that great of order or care but hopefully head quarters reads these types of things and can take care of the situation. How ever the music there is great and thats really why Id stick with the website. Personally when you see these type of things you can only think of poor management. I gave it an extra star cause I am a loyal customer.

I walked in here the other day just because I thought what the hell, maybe they will have something of interest. I walked through the store and upon reaching the back I found a sizable vinyl collection! They had records of many of my favorite artists and I was very happy. I had gotten used to ordering records off of amazon and other such sites, but now that I know I can buy them around here (for similar prices) I will definitely be coming back.

Newbury is not a comic book store. Its not fair they compete for local "Best of" competitions against traditional comic book stores in the area. Its like saying Stop & Shop is a comic book store because they have a comic book spinner rack. What comics they do have are HUGELY overpriced. Go to your local Mom & Pop store for your comic books.

Didnt have any of the comics that I regularly follow. Speaking of follow, I got followed by one of the employees who constantly tried to hit me up. Not a fan of stores that I cant be alone to browse in.

Its not a bad comic book store Ive definitely have seen better. a very small selection of comic books tho. But if I want to buy s t-shirt or a hat its definitely a place I would consider.

Theres not much in the area i live in (Besides an F.Y.E. which closed last year) I loved the selection of music and comics.
