A smaller Star Market with a gaggle of the necessities. Since it is more of a neighborhood grocery store than one of the bigger ones, you might not find everything you are looking for, but the chances are that you substitute it for something else! My wife and I like to get mostly organic or natural whenever possible, and this Star Market has a pretty significant aisle for that. What really is impressive is the produce section, which strives to be an endearing endeavor while sort of feeling like there is a lack of sunlight. That is due to the corner that the store is tucked in. With an only entrance located towards the interior of the parking lot, you are able to exit through opposite ends of the same side as the entrance. Be aware when traveling to here, Commonwealth Avenue can be a little hectic around this area, so go slow, go safe, and make sure you have enough space on the road!

I hate that this is the closest supermarket to my house. On multiple occasions Ive grabbed something off the shelf only to get home and find out that its expired. Not to mention the quality of the produce is horrible. Fruit barely lasts a couple days. The prices are the highest of any supermarket in the area. Id rather pay more at whole foods because at least I know I will be getting higher quality food - here you are paying for low quality. If you need a place to shop - go a few extra miles to Market Basket in Waltham. Their food quality is great, people are friendly and their pre-made food/sandwich/sushi/bakery are amazing!!!

Fruits are typically overpriced, old and become overripe and oftentimes farinaceous quickly. Their hot foods are often dried-out; especially their chicken wings; pizza is typically heavy on the bread, dry and not well seasoned, to name a few issues. Having thus stated, management tends to not put the customer first. Its important to note, however, that many of their employees are good and gracious, which is why I gave the market a second star.

This is not a typical Star. Its smaller, and not up to the same standards, IMO. Sometimes the produce is quite good, other times not. Their shelves are sometimes not stocked sufficiently. Very often, cans and plastic containers are dirty, or dented (e.g. orange juice). Lastly, the credit card scanners almost always indicate "transaction denied" on the first 3-5 attempts, but then succeeds. The sushi is always good...I will say that.

This Star Market is not organized coherently - very confusing and hard to find certain products. The selection of products is minimal - youll likely have to shop at an additional grocery store in order to get everything on your list. The staff always act as if they could care less. They rarely offer assistance and seem reluctant to help when you ask.

Prices are fair but most employees are impersonal and arrogant. Used to love shopping here though without self-checkout you are forced to interact with the extremely unpleasant staff. If you need to talk to a shift leader or deli consultant prepare to feel debased and humiliated.

A somewhat hidden gem in Auburndale, Newton - large selection of fresh veges, fruits, fish and shell-fish . Most items are a lot less expensive and just as fresh as local Whole Foods. . . wish they carried fresh bottled goats milk!
