Just moved into the area and was eating at Parkway Deli when I noticed this bike shop. Anyway, Im not a novice rider, but wanted to get into riding more seriously, want to be a regular at a bike shop, etc. I really wanted this shop to be the sole place I went to for my bike parts, tune ups, inquiries; however the service I received here was atrocious! I ordered an item because they didnt have the item in store and was told that I would receive a phone call when the item arrived in the store (max 5 days). I called on the 6th day inquiring about the item and was told that my item has not arrived because it was ordered along with other items that the store needed to restock their inventory and was told again that I would receive a call. Three weeks went by, no call. I went into the store asking for my item (assuming that it was sitting somewhere with my name on it, but was told by the cashier that it must have been put out with the rest of the inventory has have since been sold. After speaking with the manager, I was told that my item was never ordered and that one of the sales rep had called me to notify me of this. I never received any phone calls, voice messages, etc. I demanded my refund. The manager robotically apologized for the miscommunication, but was not empathetic and lack any customer service skills. Had I received some empathy, I would have perhaps given this bike shop another chance, but I felt like they could have cared less about me as a customer. What even frustrates me more is that more than a month has passed and I still havent gotten on my bike!!

The workers at the bicycle place recommended a hybrid bike for my commuting needs. Within the first month the bike gets two flats and i am stranded on the way home. I call in to complain and a worker tells me many customers with the trek 7.2 series have had the same problem of flat tires and theyd at least replace the tubing for free. I finally get a friend to drive me over with my bike and they completely take no responsibility. NONE. They charged me for the mount and for the tubing even though they sold me a tires that were obviously defective and told me otherwise on the phone. They charged 10 dollars for tubing and 10 for service. In total they charged me 40 dollars to change out the tubing for the defective/ ineffective tires that they sold me. Plus the money i spent to get reputable tires online. I paid premium price for the bike and expected premium service. That wasnt the case they nickel and dimed me ever chance they got. I wouldnt recommend this place. They will happily sell unreliable products and charge you for fixing it Update: Mike the owner read the review online, looked me up on the system and gave me a call. Hes seems like a reasonable man who takes the business of his store seriously. He has since refunded me for the tubing replacements. Take aways: 1.If you have a trek 7.2 series bike get hard shell tires ( I recently got Forté Gotham ST Road and Mountain Tires)

Ill be honest, the first time I received service at this shop was on my road bike and they completed maintenance I hadnt asked for and I was charged more than I was expecting. Fast forward about a year later, and I decided to use this shop again because it is really my local shop. I had them to do some shifter and brake work on my bike. The mechanic I worked with gave me a call three times during the day he worked on my bike, to ask questions about what I wanted done, other parts, etc. It was absolutely the best service Ive received at any shop. Complete different experience. Im not sure if theyve made changes in their customer service model or what, but it definitely seemed like a whole different experience. If you are local, I absolutely recommend you give them a try. Like anywhere, it is incumbent on you to be clear that you are okay with them doing certain things and not others and to make sure you really understand what is being explained to you. I found that if I do this, they patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions. Fantastic.

Ive had the pleasure of going to Bicycle Place for some years now and the experience has been excellent. Here are my specific comments: • Mike, the owner, and the staff, do an excellent job in placing you on a bicycle that will work with your style. I enjoy the fact that they often suggest that spending more money is not the solution to my needs; they work with my budget. • Bicycle fit is very important. Mike ensured that my bicycle was adjusted precisely for me; ensured that my saddle fit just right and ensured that I had the best shoes for the long century rides that I do. • The service is the just the best. Having a reliable and trustworthy mechanic who helps you save on parts by riding better and maintaining your bike in proper condition is a service that few offer. Service at Bicycle Place allows you to develop a relationship over time with the person who takes care of your bike. If you are tired of misdiagnosed service issues by high school students who think they know more than they do, go to Bicycle Place.

I was referred to this store by a friend who is a semi-pro rider. I am a casual rider who puts about 150 to 200 miles a week on the bike. I had just bought a Titanium frame made by LiteSpeed and wanted to make a very cool project of the bike (one chain ring, old fashion-but high end components, etc.). They helped me with the choice of components and to find them, as well as with installation of some of the components (as I wanted to make some of the install myself). I went back for a proper fitting because I just could not get it right (which worked out perfect!, it is so in tune with my body now) and a rework of the handlebar for a different type of handle bar and configuration. What can I say....I got great service for very reasonable price. They are very knowledgeable, and I will definitely bring my other bikes to this place for service and will be my first choice for bike related purchases. Particularly when the time comes for me to build a custom made SEVEN titanium bike: "The bike of my dreams". Enjoy riding.

Not sure why some on google gave this store a bad review, but Ive had nothing but great experiences. Theyll do many repairs and additions for free if you bought the bike there. Also, theyre not looking to sell you everything in the store. Theyre totally fine giving you advice and having you walk out of the store having bought nothing. I never feel pressure to buy something which is a lot to be said in reviewing a bike shop. The owner is awesome and will actually talk to you and treat you like a human being. The mechanics are great, never had a problem! Ive dropped close to 2 or 3 grand at this shop over the years because their service is unparalleled in comparison to other bike shops in the area. Take my word for it, Im a distance biker, they meet my needs and also my brother who only uses his bike to ride to the metro and back. Dont trust other bike shops in the area unless you pride yourself on learning lessons the hard way.
