Well, the reviews look good, and there are enough out there to make me believe the store is ok. It has one star from me, however. I popped a chain on a mountain bike early in the morning. I had a ride planned for the next morning and had work plans for the evening. Needless to say, i did not have time to put in a new chain. I walked into the store at 6:42. I asked the two service men whether there was time to put in a chain. The first gentlemen, said "we can see." Reasonable enough. A second hand chimed in, "we close at 7:00." Not sure the second bike hand knew i could read the sign on the door advertising their hours, or whether he did not know they were there, or maybe he assumed I did not see them, or just did not want my business, as he was doing just fine... No matter which it was, or some other reason, as a passionate rider, new to the area, thats not quite what I expect from an LBS. I cant say how many bike hands over the years have stayed hours or minutes late for me. Thats sort of the way i think of LBSs - a place that does not want me to shop at amazon. Its too bad, i have four bikes, my wife has two, and im crashing all the time. I cancelled my work dinner and am taking a joint of my chain and riding down a gear tomorrow. First I lose Filter, which was rad, and opened the door for me early a few times over the last two months...now i lose a bike store under my unit. Heres to Starbuck and Amazon.

AVOID THIS STORE Im not sure if the people were totally incompetent or trying to scam me, but when I went in to get a little bit of air in my tire and my brakes tightened, I left irate. First, they overfilled my tires resulting in a catastrophic tire failure MID-RIDE. I walked the bike back to the shop and they replaced the tube only to have the tire explode AGAIN! After the second FAILED ATTEMPT AT PUTTING AIR IN MY TIRE, they told me they couldnt fix my bike and that I needed to buy a new wheel (how convenient). Instead of listening to them, I took my bike to the NOVA bike store from which I purchased my bike (Village Ski & Bike). The folks at "Village Ski & Bike" inspected my wheel and found nothing wrong with it, they replaced the tube and the tire FOR FREE and I have been rigorously riding my bike joyfully ever since... YOU SUCK @ THE BIKE RACK Secondly, while the store was very clean and well organized, the staff was lazy and unprofessional at best. I would use the term "incompetent", but one of the technicians was clearly maintaining his personal bike with extreme care... too bad they didnt take that sort of care on MY BIKE (A PAYING CU$TOMER) There are two bike rack locations. I was never particularly impressed with the Q Street Location, but the Q Street Location is a 100-times better than the Monroe St location... AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

After my trusty homemade battery powered bike light lit my path for its last time, I decided to finally upgrade to a dynamo hub and LED light set. I moved to Brookland recently and recalled a bike shop ingeniously combined with my favorite nearby coffee shop, Filter Coffee. These folks are pros. The mechanics were knowledgeable, did impeccable work quickly and charged a good price to boot. From a cursory glance their retail selection is good as well, as they seem to simply not carry junk, thus saving you the time of finding out when it breaks on your commute. Highly recommended!

Went to the Grand Opening of the second location of the Bike Rack in Brookland. Very unique space shared with Filter Coffee. The space is well laid out with a huge repairs area and a lofted fitting area for the racing inclined. I was a little surprised by the lack of space dedicated to retail, but maybe theyll be using outdoor space to display bikes for sale going forward after the opening. A great addition to a burgeoning Brookland neighborhood.

Instagram - bikeacrossamerica2017 They didnt have the treads in stock that I needed. Leah offered to order them and then referenced another local shop that also stocks them! Great customer service! Appreciate how helpful she was. :) Happy pedaling!

Second that @Adam D. I wanted to replace my cassette and I walked out with a tweet to my derailleur hanger for 15 bucks. Justin also offered a suggestion to add a barrel on my front derailleur to make it easier to tune in the future.

Weve gone for a number of reasons. Once to have training wheels installed. a few brake tweaks, a handlebar repair. Always super fast, super friendly. Cant beat that I can walk home from here when I drop the bike!

A part on my bike rack broke and I was not expecting them to have one in stock. Even though they never saw a part like this one break before, they had one in stock! Great service and highly convenient location

Low key shop, cool mechanics. They talked me out of an expensive tune-up I didnt need yet, fixed a couple minor issues for me quick and cheap. Ill be back later when I need the works - cheers.

Ive been a couple of times and I appreciate the quick service, reasonable prices, and their honest answers, and them not pressuring me for sales when I come in for repairs.
