I went in to buy a pellet stove in mid October. After putting down $800 I was given an appointment to have the installer come out and evaluate the location. Guy came out and said all was good and I would be contacted in 10-14 days to schedule the installation. I waited and no one called. After 2 weeks I went into the store and they said it had only been 10 days and to give it a few more days. Waited another week and nothing. Went back to the store and after they looked up my order I could see on their faces and by the way they kept calling people on the phone someone had dropped the ball. I was told the lady would call me that night. Guess what.. no call that night or the next 4 nights. I called and left a message to cancel my order and refund my money. Amazingly, over the next 2 days I received 4 calls to set-up a time. I headed back to the store to decline and get my money back. They said only $700 is refundable, $100 is not because the guy came out to my house. The woman said "were you happy with the service you received when the installer visited your home?". I said yes. She said, "then why would you think you should get that money back?". Are you serious?! If I buy something at their store and I get it home and dont like it when I return it should they keep part of the money because their cashier did a good job ringing me up?! I will literally never set foot in Ace Hardware again.. for anything.

Bought a snow shovel, came in to return it as I never used it. The cashier started to return it, then a very old, very rude woman walked over and said "what are you doing?", the girl said returning it, she said "no, no, no, we cant return that" I asked why, she looked at me like I was stupid and said " its a storm item", we dont return storm items. Extremely rude. I said there wasnt a storm, and your still selling them so what sense does that make, should you tell me that when I buy it? She said " we cant help you" and stared at me. I said thanks and left. Not shopping at ace again... Called to speak to the manager, guess what, she IS the manager. Unreal, thats why you work at ace hardware lol

I have always shopped at Lowes and HD whenever I needed hardware, but have always been frustrated by their lack of customer service. I tried this Ace and was so impressed! Their employees actually come find you and ask you if you need help, and guide you around, and are knowledgeable. They also carry a full line of Benjamin Moore paints, which are SO much better than the Lowes varieties. Their store is a little dim and their selection is of course not as good as the huge stores, but they do carry a little bit of everything you need. Ill never go back to Lowes or HD unless I need lumber, which Ace doesnt carry.

Received a 10% off coupon from ACE to be redeemed at Ace Hardware and Hearth. Wanted to use to purchase two tons of pellets for this heating season. Told I couldnt use discount because they were on sale. Problem! Actually they were advertised " Special Inventory Pricing" at $249.00 a ton. Sorry, that is not a sale. A sale price would say "Sale". So Mr. Peterson (Pete) got me again. I was once employed by Jack Luskin "Cheapest Guy In Town" but Mr. Peterson is a close second! I have to learn that, even though the store is convenient, sometimes it is better to shop someplace else!

Horrible customer service. I just called to find out if they had a pallet of Brick Wood Fuel in stock and was told, "yes we have it. $350." When I show up they still have pallets of them but wont sell it as a pallet or at the pallet price! The person who told me he was the manager said what can I do to make it better. He would not match the pallet price on a lower quantity and would only sell me 10 bricks. This is not a place I recommend doing business if you have the option.

Went there to get a wheelbarrow and had to wait 20 minutes for the guy to say they didnt have the one we wanted but then the manager said they had 4 in stock and for the guy to check the other area, so we Waited another 30 minutes for them to actually find the item. We get home to put it together and guess what we have some of the wrong pieces. I will only be going back to retire it.

I had a good experience at this Ace. They explained to me about the different kinds of soil that could work for my needs, rang up my choices, and loaded them into the trunk of my car for me. They were friendly and helpful, even ringing up my purchases in a way to save me more money.

I stop by the store often for birding items. The owner, Pete, is an avid birder and has been very helpful. Their bird seed is custom made and does an incredible job of attracting beautiful birds. I also like going in to see their working fireplaces and stoves.

The staff was helpful and friendly. They worked hard to help the customer find the correct product and did not push more expensive solutions than simple fixes that were necessary. They store has a great selection and the quality of the products is high.
