1. Know what you want. 2. Ask to see the GIA or AGS certification. I was lied to multiple times while shopping for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I was helped very nicely in choosing a setting and found the perfect setting that I wanted. When looking at diamonds, the salesman by the name of Nick Meredith showed me multiple options in my price range and educated me on the 4 Cs and how the cut of a diamond is roughly 40% of the diamonds value. I was presented with a few options. Diamond A: 1.00 CT, VS1, I, "Well Cut" ~$5,000 -I noticed that the girdle was pretty thick and asked about the quality of the cut. Nick told me that all Shane Co. diamonds are are extremely well cut and that they reject anything below their high-quality standard. -Just to be sure, I asked to see the GIA certification. When he brought it out, the GIA grade for the Cut of the diamond was "Poor." This is the lowest possible grading for the cut of the diamond. Lesson: Ask for the GIA certification; do not trust the salesperson. Diamond B: 0.9 CT, VS1, H, "Well Cut" ~$6,000 -We looked at the diamond closely and Nick marked any inclusions that he saw and reassured me that there were only a few faint inclusions. -I asked to see the GIA certification and when he brought it out, it said that there was a pretty big feather in the diamond. -I looked at the diamond a little more closely, and you could easily see the feather with the naked eye. -I do not believe that a diamond with a feather in it is worth $6,000. Lesson: Ask for the GIA certification; do not trust the salesperson. The diamond ring was supposed to be a symbol for my relationship with my girlfriend. I will be buying my diamond from a reputable diamond store, not Shane Co.

My girlfriend (now fiance) and I went to Shane Co. one day to begin to look for various styles of engagement rings. The sales people were very nice and helpful, even though it was rather crowded. I later went back and bought the engagement ring and once again, they were extremely helpful. They taught me about the different qualities of a diamond and allowed me to inspect each diamond and choose the one I liked best. Buying from them was a great and reassuring experience. They also have an amazing warranty on purchases from them. They will replace any side diamonds that fall out, will resize for free, will clean the ring and inspect it for free; all for the life of the ring. My fiance went back today to get her ring resized and once again, they were very helpful and nice. They let her try on different wedding bands with her ring so she could make sure she liked the one I got her, and they let her inspect her diamond so she could see how nice it was ;) I couldnt imagine buying from anywhere else. I hate pushy salespeople and ones that dont really care about you. At Shane Co. I was treated amazingly well and was very happy with my experience. The next piece of jewelry I buy will definitely be from Shane Co.

Tried to love Shane Co but they dropped the ball and never really cared to recover. Bought what was and FINALLY still is a one of a kind ring no doubt about it. Long story short they badly mangled our ring at sizing and tired to make us okay with that but did finally agree to redo the ring completely but then told us it would take four months to get it done. They did stay in contact with us and got it done THREE months later and acted like that was doing us a big solid! The reason I went to Shane Co was to avoid a deal like this (mall jeweler comes to mind). Manager kept saying "We will take care of you but first lets get your ring fixed" ...... Still waiting on that "taken care of deal" lol. Its been five months now and they have never cared to follow up with us on our wedding bands and seriously acted like we were a problem they didnt want. As bad as we wanted our wedding bands to come from them we simply cant over spend our money with a jeweler like them!

Just One Problem... I went to Shane Co. to pick out an engagement ring and I was very pleased with the selection and the costumer service. The salesman was very patient and helpful while I tried on a TON of rings. I also thought the rings seemed to be priced very well after looking at 2 other stores. I actually ended up picking out 2 rings so my boyfriend could decide and surprise me. I had informed the salesman in the beginning that I already owned a center stone that would be mounted in the setting I chose. At the very end of the visit, the salesman informed me about their policy for mounting stones that arent bought from Shane Co. They were going to charge almost $500 to set my stone in one of their rings. The pricing is based on the size of the stone itself. We saved ourselves the $500 and I chose an almost identical ring at another store that didnt charge anything to set my stone.

I went into Shane co after my husband and I got engaged and got temporary spacer in my engagement ring because I was pregnant and wanted to wait to get it fitted until after delivery. The gentleman that helped us was kind and polite and told us to come back when we needed the ring sized and they would take care of it. I was going to buy my husbands wedding ring there at that time. Once we had the baby we came back in and were helped by a woman who looked at my ring, which was not purchased there, and basically told us to go to "the mall" or somewhere else. She was condensing in tone and basically didnt want to "bother" with us. I was very disappointed and will never go back. Shane Co lost out on our business as I was going to purchase a very nice male wedding ring from them. Its a shame that we were treated that way and will never recommend them to anyone.

After a second visit to Shane Co to exchange my engagement ring, the service associate was very rude with us. She was juggling us between another customer and made sure we were well aware of her responsibility to help the other customer. It was as if we were being treated secondarily. We finally asked another associate who was looking bored/without anyone waiting on to help and she gladly accepted. Both associates told us they could not special order/remake a ring that we wanted a different stone in (which other jewelry places typically would), and the rude associate kept being very disagreeable with other matters as well. We returned the ring and went somewhere else. After 2 visits, one visit surpassed my expectations and the other visit was a huge disappointment with the rude sales associate and Shane Co not working with us to customize the ring.

Ive had a great experience with Shane Co. I bought my fiancees engagement ring from them. The staff was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of picking up the ring, the ring was stolen from me. I went back to Shane Co. with my insurance information and police report, and they were happy to provide me a ring at a steep discount so as to not profit off my loss. When I was told when the ring was available, I asked if it could be done sooner considering the circumstances, and they moved the date up by several days so my fiancee can have her ring faster. At every step along the way, Shane Co. has provided great customer service and has made what is inherently a very difficult situation much easier to deal with. I highly recommend them.
