I have been to that place more than a couple of times and although I have not yet experienced the car-buying process (nor will I ever) the service center in the back of the store left me much to wish for improvement. I proudly owned a GM product, as we all know they make cars. Unfortunately they do not last forever, so the car broke down. Which was not a problem since I have a fair knowledge of mechanics. It so happened that after fixing my car, the feature called PASSLOCK® locked down my car. I went multiple times to this location asking for advice on how to unlock that feature in my own car. I needed my car! I needed to get to work, I needed a means of transportation. Well, on the service department, they answered my question more than once with a dry "bring the car over, we charge around $80 to diagnose the problem and then give you the option to fix it" but never even asked if the car was safe to drive or even drivable. The car was fixed, what was not fixed is the design flaw of putting a system that cannot be bypassed by the user himself! But rather than taking care of my problem, most of them misleaded me with trashy advices and being incisive about bringing the car to them. Well, I towed the car to a local honest shop, they knew how to unlock that PASSLOCK® feature and I gladly paid them to unlock it for me. If I die and the funeral is hosted at this location, on Gods name... I will stand up from my coffin and leave my own funeral. Go to any honest shop that a friend could recommend you, but getting service from this business is a ripoff and the less you know about cars the more advantage they will take of you. Is like paying $200 for the same pair of shoes you would get for $20 with only one difference; name brand. I wish I had something different to say, because there are also very nice people that work at that location but not the people I talked to at the service center; and based on all that trouble and days missed from work I respectfully give this low rating.

Please do not buy from Sam Swope! They have a great selection and friendly workers, however because of my inexperience, I made the mistake of purchasing from Sam Swope without truly doing my homework. Although they might bring the price of the car down, they will add charges that honestly say "Additional Charges" (on top of the thousands for taxes and fees) without giving me an explanation as to what they are. The Additional charge can thousands (mine was $1,500.) The financing was terrible compared to the rates I could have received elsewhere. Again, it was my fault to not do my homework. After purchasing my car I had multiple issues after driving off the lot. Since I live out of town they asked me to have it fixed at a honda dealership out of town and then bring my old parts and receipts to them for reimbursement. After spending additional costs for having it fixed at a honda dealership with honda parts, they told me they would not reimburse me. After months of call unreturned, I gave up. Sam Swope takes advantage of you. Since they sale so many cars, some people will have a good experience. However, if you are going for a used car, do not buy from Sam Swope. Trying to get them to follow through with their promises is like pulling teeth. I am out $600 for a part they promised was under warranty and brand new. Now I have more into the car than its worth and I wish I could have gone to a different dealer and done better research on financing.

Very disappointed with this dealership!! I do not believe the management is following sales ethics that Mr. Swope would have believed in. I reviewed a vehicle on line and sent an email request for availability on April 13 at 7:30am. I received a response at 8:00am that they would contact me. I did not receive a response and I contacted a sales rep at 12:00 to confirm availability and set appointment time for after work and left my name and number. I received an email at 1:40 from another sales person offering assistance. I called my wife to go ahead and go to the dealership early at 3:00pm. When she got there the sales person told her the car had just been put on hold with a deposit and brushed her off. The only response from the manager was “Sorry we did not have any confirmation that you were going to buy the car”. I don’t know about most people but when I put something up for sale and someone calls for an appointment to see it I give them first pass or a courtesy call to determine their intent before I sell the product to someone else. I have purchased a car from this dealership before with no issue but this has changed my mind.

This is by far the worst business i have been to hands down. While they are more than eager to tell you how well known they are as a company, and that they check every vehicle with the required "160 point inspection", they are useless and rude when their help is needed. After only having my volvo c30 for 160 miles, my vehicle started to shudder, and the check engine light came on. When i checked the codes, there were two cylinder misfires, along with catalytic converter damage. However, when i took it into the same place i bought, they told me i was incorrect, and would not lrt me back to the shop to see the issues or what theyre systems said. I at this point never want to bring my money or time back here, and advise anyone to go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else but here. Anything sam swope is relying on the name, and they have lost all sense of proper customer relations, customer service, and general concern for what they are selling their "valued" customers.

I sincerely doubt I will EVER buy a car here, although Ive driven Buicks and other GM cars for 30 years. I tried to take my 2009 Saturn out there today to set up a service appointment and could see the place, but never found it in the maze of the empire, which probably qualifies as a monopoly in the car world. I passed BMW and VOLVO and Lexus, etc. but never found an entrance to the GM main site where I presume service is. There was no one or nowhere to ask, I did call the number and was told "well its right on Bunsen Rd" or whatever it is. Its a veritable maze of hodge podge dealers but if you cant get in there to set up service, heaven help you trying to GET service. I just moved to the area, and the roads are not particularly logical. I survived with my GM cars in a REALLY big area, Northern Virginia, and had no trouble ever getting to a dealer. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, even with a GPS.

Forever wishing I could give the Toyota of Louisville branch of this dealer on Dixie Hwy ZERO STARS. I was lead to believe that I could come pick up a vehicle and drive it off that lot that day. As I arrive in Louisville after my hour and a half long drive I call one of the sales managers (who I will not mention) who had my personal number as well as I had his and he informs me that the car sold days prior to my arrival even though he was sending pictures and texts to me just the day before? Fishy already right? Upset to say the least that a phone call, text, or email was not sent to me about this car telling me that it had sold... would not recommend thus auto group to my worst enemy. Especially this branch, Toyota of Louisville.
