The worst customer service I have ever encountered!!! After completing a project, I had an extra spool of thread and a small package of bobbins I wanted to return last night. I waited in line, and the when my turn came, the associate glanced at the reciept and said "Where is the rest of it?" I didnt know what she meant, so when I checked it, I saw that the very last portion of the reciept had been cut off at a point where you could not exactly make out the last lines. But you could see the preforated bottom cut, meaning, it was torn from the reciept machine that way. They had to call a manager, Vivian, to continue. I waited, and when Vivian came to help me she barely glanced at the reciept she VERY rudely told me they could only give me the lowest price it had been because me reciept was cut and that made it invalid. Mind you, the merch. total was probably under $5, but she was treating me as if I was trying to run come sort of scam, or as if I had stolen the items. If she had bothered to read the reciept, she would have seen the item id numbers matched, and I had also bought a substantial amount of other misc. merchandise. When I asked if I could exchange the merchandise (perhaps for another spool of thread that would be more useful, like white) she rolled her eyes and repeated what she had said before about giving me the lowest price it had been. At this point I was more upset by the fact that she was treating me like a crook, even though I had my reciept. (Not my fault that the reciept had been cut only the slightest bit too short by a Joanns employee.) She was so rude when she was "helping" me, that I wondered why am I giving money to a store whos employees are treating me like (you know what). She was speaking down to me, and in such a tone, that I was so enfuriated, I told her I didnt appreciate being spoken to that way, as if she was trying to insinuate I had done something wrong or dishonest. And I left with merchandise I had no need for. I was so mad, that even the day after, today I had to call the store manager, Carl, who assured me he did not want his customers to be treated that way. He was apologetic, but lets see if the customer service improves! As far as the manager Vivian goes.. Wow. You lead by example, and if that is the example for your employees, I feel sorry for you.

Im not writing this review based off only one bad experience. We go unfortunately go to this location at least 1-3 times a week. They have a good selection of products, but the majority of the employees there are just plain terrible... Just like the other reviews say, it takes forever to get fabric cut, checking out, or finding assistance. The customer service reps are the worst... here is just ONE example from last month: I was looking for a fabric that this location was sold out of, according to the fabric cutters, and they had given me the item number. They were busy with people waiting, so I went to the customer service counter where there were no customers. I simply asked if she could call the location in Shawnee to check if they had it. We cant do that." "I cant get held up on the phone, it needs to stay available if someone calls. But I can give you their number so you can call them." I looked at the phone next to her, looked at her, then around me to make sure no once else was waiting, and I asked "why not?" "Youre just standing here, theres no other customer waiting, and I dont have my cell on me so what good is the number??? -oh, and she stated that I could not use her phone to call them either. The majority of the employees there are the his way, they literally have now clue as how to provide customer service! I blame the management that they dont know how to train theyre people properly on these skills or how to do their jobs. Hopefully the management here sees this and is completely offended, maybe then there would be changes. I honestly dont even know who that is... Were in here a lot, but their presenve is never seen. Maybe the employees running the store into the ground? Dont see anyone else running things... Im writing this review while waiting to check out... Until then, Hancocks up the street is a much better place to shop. And no matter what their employees are doing they always stop when you walk in and ask if you would like help! I only go to this Jo-Anns if Hancock doesnt have what I need. (Which was the case today)

I go here only if I have to for selections. They are not helpful at all. Often Ive found an item and the spot on the shelf was empty so I asked if it was in stock but just not on the self yet. They usually say, "Yes." And then I say, "well can I buy it?" And they always say, "No, its still in the box." Its called a box-cutter people! You just missed a sale b/c your associates arent allowed to open unopened boxes...nice business sense. I recently had to do a return....o.m.g. So they had two different colors of yarn that are EXTREMELY similar in the same bin. So my husband picked up a cream and a white and when I went to go to buy two more creams I did the same thing and picked up a cream and a white. So I went to return the 2 whites...I only had a receipt for one. They gave me my money back, in cash (no other options) for the 1 w/ the receipt. For the one without a receipt, they gave me 50% back on a JoAnnes gift card! They said that it was because there were coupons available on that item so I could have gotten 50% off the item but since I dont have the receipt they have no way of knowing either way. Ugh! Laughable right...no! They took the yarn I had returned and put it back on the shelf and sold it at full price...thus they made a 50% ADDITIONAL PROFIT on my return. I hate that store.

During the 15 minutes I was in this location I saw enough to make me sick. I put my things back and left. Employees walking into me not paying attention to what theyre doing or where theyre going. Employees cursing on the floor about other employees. The bathroom had urine on the floor, trash everywhere. the towel dispenser open and full, bowel movement spread on the wall and pornographic graffiti in the stalls. Layers of filth clearly visible on the tile. I went into the family bathroom to change my two-year-old diaper, it wasnt very family welcoming if you ask me. The manager stockings soap at the front of the store right next to where the cashier stations are. Only two cashiers on hand, and the line going three quarters of the way back to the back of the store. When I addressed my concerns to the manager, all he could say was Im so sorry. But I need to finish putting these out before I can go address anything. I told the manager I will not be returning nor buying anything from this location ever again. The cleanliness of the bathroom was the line dryer for me if they couldnt keep things clean in the bathroom what is the back of their Store look like? How sanitary other products you bought it when you walk out of that store?
