Customer Service there is pretty decent. Last couple of times I have been there, they are more than willing to look around the store with you for what you are looking for.....so they dont really know what they have in stock or where it might be, but still try to help. As for the hunting, fishing, and gun areas, find one of the older guys there. Every older gentlemen that has helped me has been very knowledgeable and given great advice. The younger people seem to be there to just sell, whether you need it or not. I was looking at shotgun chokes and after I had scoured the whole selection looking for a specific brand and type of choke for a Mossberg, I asked a younger associate if there was any stock in the back for the brand and type of choke I was looking for, since there wasnt any on the shelf. He looked at the shelf stock, found the correct brand and handed it to me like "Um....duh, it was right here the whole time." It was the right brand but wasnt the right type of choke nor was if for applicable for a Mossberg (think it might of been for a Benelli). I just chuckled and said thanks and walked away. Found a older gentlemen associate and asked the same question, he went back and checked and came back with none, but then showed me some different options and different brands and also knew the difference in the type of chokes and the limits and was able to sell me a choke that would work. As for service in the firearm area, and some of the other comments I read before writing this, whether you are male or female, you cant just stand there and expect them to know you want to buy a gun today. Most times, there are about 4 sales people and about 50 customers in that area. I, too, have just stood there waiting for a scheels employee to approach me and ask what I need. Truth is, they are so damn busy and probably hear "Nope, just looking" so many times a day, they figure a person who truly is going to buy it, will come up to them and ask to see a gun. So take a little initiative and go after what you want, and dont expect it to fall into your lap.

02/2016 - What arrogance... I really wanted the LeBron shoes in the clearance section. Sale price $120, Retail price $200. Looking closer, the souls were dirty and the sides were scuffed. After they admitted they were a return, I asked if they would do better on the price (especially since I was also purchasing a new pair of LeBrons for my son). The salesman (who works on commission and never broke a smile one time) got really arrogant saying "weve already marked them down $80, were not doing any more." Well Scheels, I went to Finish Line in the same mall and purchased those exact shoes brand new for $149 at their regular price. We also bought two more pairs because they were selling and not order taking with a bad attitude. This month I make another purchase in that $1200 range and will also be giving my business to your competitors. Dont worry though, Ill be back for the fudge :) 01/2013 - Great Customer Service! ☆☆☆☆☆

This rating is based solely upon an experience with a special order I placed, all other interactions with this store have been good. I had to special order a pair of shoes because the store didnt have them in my size and was told it would take up to 4-6 weeks to get them, but that I could expect it to only take 2-3. I waited the 6 weeks and hadnt received the shoes. I called the store and was told they hadnt received the order, and that they had checked all surrounding stores and found that each did not have my size shoe in stock. They told me that this meant that the shoe company itself was out of stock. After the phone call, I checked the shoe companys site and found that they did, in fact, have the shoe I wanted in my size.

Normally I love this store but...I was in there last night looking at the hand guns. I have been in there off and on for the last two months, knowing I want a gun but still researching. I was ready to buy this time... The young guy walked by and asked every single person in the area if they would like to see something, except me. He just walked by and gave me a little grin. I had been standing there over 30 minutes staring at the same gun, so obviously I needed help. I decided not to give him my business and just leave. Apparently girly girls arent aloud to look at guns. Maybe Ill go in again looking more boy like and maybe Ill get some attention. VERY disappointed!!

Zach in bikes is awesome! Great customer service with an honest perspective and a humble attitude. I have purchased two bikes from him, and his knowledge of the product line has been first rate. I felt very comfortable my purchase. Their bike mechanics are first rate, and have gone way out of their way to get me a part that was not something they could order through their normal chains. I appreciate these guys, mucho! Even when I posed a question they didnt know, they were honest about it and went out of their way to find the answer. People can read a salesman, but it takes a passionate person to really get the customer service right. These people get it right!

This is the second Scheels store Ive been to. The first store (Sandy UT) left me uninspired but I figured Id try again. I have and I wont be back. Im just not a fan of this way of merchandising. The stores are huge. They try to be everything to everyone and they just fall short. The focus is on entertainment. Its almost like if they bombard your senses that youll temporarily lose your mind and spend, spend, spend. It may work, but I find it shallow and cynical. I dont want to be entertained. I just want great value on the great products I need. Scheels doesnt deliver. I tried. I wont be back.

I dont mind paying Scheels premium prices occasionally for the convenience of their big stock. But when I tried to buy a shotgun tonight they did not have the Remington 870, the most popular 12 Ga out there in stock other than the floor model which they tried to sell me at full price without even a box or manual. So I figured I would finish the forms and they could call when the gun came in & I could drop back. They dont do that. Not only that, but they dont even know or seem to care when more guns will arrive. So much for the convenience of Scheels.

Asked a sales person to convert a 20 gauge 385 grain slug to ozs for me. He took box came back about 5 min later and told be a little over 1/2 oz. I told him that was not correct and he insisted it was. I just shook my head and walked away. Today I got on computer and went to a couple conversion sites and it converts to .88 oz. This is a little over 7/8 of an ounce. A long way from 1/2 ounce. What bothered me most was that he was so adamant that he was right.
