Went in there to buy crickets for our baby bearded dragon. All of the crickets were dead, so the lady said to feed him wax worms. I mentioned that I was told by another reptile store that waxworms are not good for baby beardies. She said that, that is all they feed their baby beardies. After purchasing the wax worms and feeding them to dragon, he ate them very well and seemed to love them. That night, he started having seizures and what seems like paralysis in all of his legs. We took him to the vet and they said he is dying because wax worms are too fatty and big for baby dragons. My husband called Pet Haven and was not only told that the manager would not be in until later but was hung up on when he voiced his complaint to the employee. Will never return to this establishment again. Now I have to explain to our two small children that their beardie has passed and why.

Ive been here multiple times and I am satisfied with the staff and pet selection. First of all, Staff are very nice and know what theyre talking about. I remember looking at the tarantulas and a staff member literally hand-held the spider for me to see! I was surprised as most pet stores would never do this. Then the pets. The quality is amazing! I have gotten multiple birds from the place and they lived for years. The fish I get from here always live for a long time. Overall, the quality is very good. I have heard of people complaining about dogs being trimmed and coming out with injuries. Only downside to the establishment. Id say the training for pet trimming should be improved. Still a very good place. 5 stars. And this is coming from a very judgmental person when I see how something is.

I live in Crown Point and, while I buy my food and other common supplies here, if I have a question or am looking for a special fish I go to Pet Haven. It is about a 30 to 40 minute trip 1-wat. But it is worth it. The staff know what they are doing. They are courtious and dont talk down to the customers (which by the way is a problem around here). They have even gone so far as to order tell me what kind of fish they can order and offer to special order the specific one that I wanted. So if you want someone who doesnt know what they are talking about and is rude with a limited assortment, dont go to Pet Haven. But if that is not what you want go see these people.

We have been taking our dog to Pet Haven for 7 years after the last place we took him said, of all things, that our dog was too nice and wanted to lick everyone. Lately, our very friendly dog growls at the people at Pet Haven everytime we come to pick him up and we've found scabs on various parts of his body. This most recent time, our dog came home smelling like fish! We had to wash him again as soon as we got home! I have no idea what that was about but that was the last straw. Pet Haven used to be a nice place to take your dog but it's really gone downhill. We're finding a new groomers immediately. Keep your dog away!

Gave them a second chance with my dog after the 1st time they cleaned his ears aND a vet visit for an ear infection. Now I will be calling the vet again after yesterdays anal cleaning and his nails he can barely walk as cut too short and is pain in his butt... obviously the high school kids swing the work arent trained and in too big of a hurry to do the job

Friendly courteous staff, more than accommodating. Tropical/Reef selection is the best in the area. Prices on fish are the lowest for any dedicated local fish store that isnt petco/walmart. Tank maintenance has always been excellent. I like the lady that works there the most, shes knowledgeable and honest.

This is the only place I feel confident Im getting healthy fish. Employees will actually tell me if a certain tank has been treated for an issue, which tells me they are actually treating tanks not just pawning off sick fish! You often find rarer breeds here too which is always a pleasant surprise!

Excellent customer service. These people are willing to help with any questions you may have. The mother and son who run the fish shop downstairs are the reason we continue to return. Very friendly, helpful and even patient and excellent with our 3 curious young kids as the view and choose fish.

Great service most of the time i live in the trailer park by them and take a shortcut to walk there sometimes with my friends i just look or i take my dog up there. I think they need more options on the dog supplies there they dont have a lot of supplies

I love love love this place and the staff! Always eager to help. If they do not have what you need, well you can guarantee they will get it for you! This has been my go to for all my salt water needs! Always healthy and happy fish also! :)

This place is awesome! Never seen a larger selection of healthy saltwater invertebrates. They look like a beautiful vibrant underwater garden. All the tanks are crystal clear and obviously well maintained. Staff very courteous.

Its bigger than it looks from the outside. The staff was very nice and helpful. Prices are reasonable. I only wish they had more pond supplies. We will definitely shop here again.

I wouldnt take a dog here. The male groomer has anger problems and has killed two small dogs in shop. Please dont bring your animals here.
