This is a terrible place with no morale. They will gouge you and make it look like the insurance companies do it. They charge you for things that you do not need, just so that they can meet their standards. I had great insurance (Chrysler) and they made me pay for all kinds of up charges that insurance supposedly wouldnt cover, but I NEEDED. Key word, NEEDED. I did not need the 1 year replacement plan, they just tack it on. I did not need the "superior" anti glare protection, I wish I knew what I know now, and I would of saved a bundle. And if you want to pick from the frames that they offer (that the insurance covers) they only have a few out, even though Davis vision offers over 300 to choose from. That way you are more inclined to pick off of their show rooom floor and not the covered frames. They are a RETAIL STORE~ NOT a Dr. office!!!! You will be scammed if you go to this place, there are plenty of other, better places to go in Kokomo, just call and see if they take your insurance. Also, I tried to get a warranty replacement on my glasses (the warranty I bought unknowingly) and the "manager" said they could do nothing for me since I bought my frames off of them and not the covered frames! The manager has a terrible attitude, and is only available certain days of the week. I am not the only unsatisfied customer, there were people in there with complaints when I was there to begin with. I should of known. I also had over an HOUR AND A HALF wait to see the doctor AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT! The horrible girls at the front office acted like I was an inconvenience, taking time from them talking to each other and texting. They were very condescending and rude. Bottom line, my husband, kids and I will ALWAYS go somewhere else.

Horrible and unprofessional experience. The military (in their bureaucratic expertise) sent me to get a general eye appointment at Optical One rather than with my actual optometrist, Dr. Christopher James with Mid-West Eye Consultants on Walnut Street who is an exceptional and extremely professional and personable doctor. Problems with Optical One on Markland: 1) The reception girls were unprofessional, rude and blatantly continued flirting with the doctor in the lobby. 2) The "doctor" (if that) acted like I was an inconvenience, could not properly give me the examination, then claimed I was not correctable to 20/20 vision. 3) This forced me to jump through more bureaucratic red tape to prove I had always and will always be correctable to 20/20. I received another examination from Mid-West Eye Consultant Dr. Christopher James, who proved I was correctable to 20/20 and years later my examinations have always been 20/20. Bottom line: save yourself the pain of being an inconvenience at Optical One on Markland and go "see" Dr. Christopher James of Mid-West Eye Consultants. Also, this mishap did not affect my military career I am currently a US Infantry/Intelligence Officer. With Respect

I hate going to the eye doctor but Dr. V was exceptional. He really made it a comfortable atmosphere, and he discovered my eye prescription had been too strong for years!! i couldnt ask for a better optometrist, and i got some great specs.
