Ive been shopping at this Meijer since it opened over 20 years ago. I get nearly all my groceries there. The fruit and vegetables are fresher than what I find at other places, and Ive compared notes with about 10 people over the years who agree with me. Meijer also stocks items that health food stores specialize in. They started doing this long before the other grocery stores hopped on board the health food craze. When another big box store (that starts with W and ends with t) opened on Emerson Ave., I heard their prices were better. So, I checked them out and found that the same items were only a penny or two less. Worst of all, those items never go on sale. Meijer, on the other hand, often has sales on highly desirable brand name items. The only thing with Meijer sales is that they are priced so low (30% to 50% off) that you have to catch the sale on the first day or two before the items disappear. I myself am guilty of buying 5 jars of my favorite Smuckers jam when its a dollar off per jar. Also, the employees at the other big box store that starts with W arent very pleasant. Theyre practically invisible when you need help (which is typical of big box stores), but the moment you try to open a box to check out a toaster oven, they magically appear and grumpily tell you you cant do that. At Meijer, they may not be readily available for help, but at least they leave you alone if you want to look into something before you buy it (which I end up doing 90% of the time). Overall, Meijer has the best combination of moderate to low prices, well stocked items, and service that isnt distrustful of the customer.

This is the second time Ive come in to purchase a bulk size item that they can only fit one of on the shelf. Whether its on sale or regular price, they have failed to have it stocked on the shelf or on an endcap for several weeks. So, today I decided I would ask if someone could check on it, perhaps in the stockroom/overstock, as I drove out of my way to come to this location. I asked a meijer employee if he knew who I should speak with about checking for an item and he didnt. No fault of his, as I stopped him and he clearly worked in an area of the food department (hence the hair cap). So, I stop at customer service and one of the representatives is leaning on the counter. After a brief moment in line, she acknowledges me and I ask if she can check on the stock of an item. She says, well I cant do it without a UPC... leans back on the counter woke still looking at me... then silence. My background is in retail/management. Usually, theres some apparatus in the store that allows you to put in a description of an item to search for it to get the upc... OR... as an employee you know how to read the item labels/tags to get the upc. She offered to do none of the above. So, I thanked her and left the store. I guess Target will get my money from now on!

My wife went to meat department in Greenwood Indiana Meijer, and tried to order a couple of special hams as we have always done for the holidays. An older man working there told her that Meijer did not take special orders. She then told him that we have always ordered the hams. He then stated that he had no idea how to do that and that she needed to come back the next day. My wife told me that the old man acted as if he did not want to be bothered, and certainly had no business working in a public place. I went back the next day and ordered the hams myself. A few days later I called to see if the hams were in....and sure enough the old man answered the phone. I asked him if our hams had come in.....he stated he had no idea what I was talking about and that I needed to call back the next day. SERIOUSLY????? I own a business, if I found out that I had an employee that was this bad with customers....and had this type of attitude, he certainly would not be working for me. MEIJER.....GET A CLUE....I guess I will need to order my hams from someplace that cares.

After years of complaints to management and upper-management I have been unable to get them to fix their pricing programs.80 percent of the time I shop there something comes across the scanner with a higher price. Ive talked to a number of hourly employes and they say management has cut hours too much!! WOW... there ought to be a LAW!!! If you shop there watch the pricing real close. I pity the single mother with kids and a full cart of groceries,,,, she will be overcharged.... good luck if you shop there

Poor customer service. They sold me an expensive Nintendo game that had been thieved of its disc and re-wrapped with a blank CD. If you buy anything like that in this store, always open it in the store and make sure it has the disc or merchandise actually in it. Thieves are getting more creative and this store seems unable to catch it. The store replaced the item but refused to compensate me for having this garbage unwrapped at Christmas by my son. They didnt even apologize. Ill never shop there again.

This store opened 20+ yrs. ago. USED to be great. Now, the store is out of stock on most items; has bad produce, always low on ANY sale item, especially around any holiday. Weve complained to managers too many times to count. Their answer? We do $1 million / month out of this store. (In other words, if you dont like it, go elsewhere. ) so we go elsewhere. Store is always dirty, and since they never stock their sale items, its too frustrating to shop there. We dont shop there unless we have to.

We visit this store at least 3x a week. It is clean 99% of the time, well stocked, well lit and carries a wider variety of items than any other mass retailer in Johnson county. All of the made-fresh areas are nicely stocked and have friendly associates manning the counters. Overall the store is one of the best places to shop for both grocery and lifestyle needs at reasonable prices in the area.

I wish I could give negative stars. I used to love this store. Ever since the remodel things are hard to find, the mperks coupons are crap, and the prices have been raised. So not only do I have to spend twice the time looking for things but I have to spend twice the money now?? Meijer, after my trip today you lost a long time customer. Im not paying for your ridiculous remodel.

My 10 year old daughter saved her money and bought a Timex watch that said it was waterproof. She took a bath and it quit working. When we tried to return it w receipt Meijer wouldnt accept it! I took my daughter to Walmart and I bought her a watch because Walmart backs what they sell.

I still prefer Meijer to Kroger & Kroger to Walmart but I dont care to shop the grocery side at this store. The aisles are choppy. I prefer either Kroger & Walmart over the Greenwood store. It was my favorite. The bakery is nice, if only there were employees.
