I just got back into riding bicycles and I dont have a ton of funds to put towards the hobby. So I bought a bicycle from craigslist, a 1990 Schwinn World Sport in excellent condition. I have purchased new tires and tubes, back brake pads, a seat, and an under seat pouch. (Around $150.00) Everytime I go into the Bike connection I am greated by someone, and have all of my questions answered ( I ask a lot of dumb questions, because i just dont know much). They even walk me to where the part Im looking for is located, BTW its a very small space, but they care enough to show me anyway. They treat me as if I just spent $3000.00 on a new bike with all the bells and whistles. There customer service is top notch and i always get someone very knowledgble. I guess I just have good luck. I have read the other reviews and dont see how it could have happened, I have delt with 3 or 4 different people there, all of them awesome. I used to go here as a kid always fixing or rebuilding my Dyno Air, or My redline 440. I happy to see that they are just as caring and awesome as when I was a kid. I will be coming here as long as they are open. I reccomend them to anyone that will listen.

I have never purchased my own bike or even ridden a road bike before (I always had mountain bikes). I found the staff at Bike Connection to be very friendly and knowledgeable about bikes. I had no idea what to look for as far as type of road bike and fit, and a few people made sure that the bike I picked out was right for me. I also really appreciated the fact that they had someone watch me while test riding it to watch for fit. They made sure that I was going to purchase something that was perfect for my needs, which is something I cant say about other bike shops that I visited. I would definitely recommend going to Bike Connection if you want to speak with people who really know bikes! I really liked that they acknowledged that as a beginner rider I didnt need the $850-$1000+ bike. I went to another shop where "extras" and upgrades were emphasized regardless of my limited knowledge of bicycling -- and of course at a price. I couldnt be happier with my purchase!

This is the same review I put on Yelp: This place is fantastic, and its mostly because of their Mechanics. The staff that does the register $ transaction and sales, is young, and not very informed, or good at customer service/meeting with clients. However, they probably just need to be trained. My experience was that I was riding to work after cruising through Busse Woods, and my Bikes Chord Connection from the Handle bar to my Rear Gear Derailleur broke. So, I found this place because it was close to where my work is located and I could ride there from Busse Woods. They immediately fixed my bike. The Mechanic happened to also notice that my Front WheelChain Derailleur was also broken and he quickly fixed it. This place is definitely honest and good at working with bikes. The best part is that they will fix your bike on your first visit there in case of emergencies and if you cannot leave the bike at their shop overnight. I will definitely go back.

I absolutey am thrilled about this place. my boyfriend recently had a bike incident -- purchased a schwinn from target and the front wheel fell off while he was riding the bike -- we both found great deals on Treks online and called around to local bike shops to have his bike checked out to see if the seller built it correctly, 3 places we called all wanted to charge 50+ to just LOOK at it, I called this place and they did it for FREE & we didnt even purchase our bike from there!! The owner is such a helpful man and he has a great staff; walking in at first I felt a little intimidated but after approaching them they were incredibly kind and helpful. This is my permanant bike shop from now on!

Bought a bike, was told it was on sale. Little did i know the bike price was not reduced, but MSRP. Bought out of blind trust and level of professionalism. This place has a great selection and customer service is superb. I would recommend everyone to come here as the staff are very knowledgeable. After having been shopping for my wifes bike, we decided to return the bike and hold off until we could purchase two bikes at a good deal. Unfortunately we returned my bike. Hopefully we will be back when it is time for an upgrade. Rick and the female sales associate are really awesome to deal with and outstanding service.

purchased a groupon and late february of 2012 i brought my bike in on a wednesday, kept calling and a week later was told it was finished and come and get it. Living 15 miles away at $409 a gallon of gas, i drove their. When i arrived after waiting for 1/2 an hour for help, was told oh sorry our mechanic didnt show up to finish it. So i waited again for another call. A few days later they said it was ready. When i went to pick it up one of the workers said we will send you a coupon for a free checkup for this inconvenience, Well guess what i never received it. WARNING!!!

I had my chain snap while on a ride with my daughter. I brought my bike in an hour before close and the shop owner put it up on the rack while I waited. As he went along, other issues were discovered. After asking if I was in a hurry, he went ahead and got my bike running like brand new! After all the work he had done I expected to pay quite a bit, but was pleasantly surprised by the more than fair charge. The bike connection is a great example of how a neighborhood business should be run. Super friendly service and fair prices. They have gained a loyal customer.

Second review of this place. Great service, great people, the mechanics are amazing. If local bike shops are to survive service is key, but prices must be competitive. I just bought a tire from them that was twice the price that I can buy it anywhere online. Im happy to pay a little more in a local shop, but a 100% mark up over any online retailer is unjust. As always, the service is great, will keep going back, but Ill likely never purchase anything there other than mechanic services.

Great bike shop located near Woodfield Mall! After my brand new bike was stolen, a fellow bike group member mentioned how disappointed I was losing my bike. They had re-conditioned some donated bikes AND were very generous in providing me with a bike to ride last summer. THANK YOU BIKE CONNECTION AGAIN! YOU GUYS ROCK! To be totally honest, the re-conditioned Trek bike was more comfortable and rode better than my fancy Specialized I had bought as a post-divorce gift to myself! Thrilled!

Bought a Specialized from them at the beginning of the summer and couldnt be happier with the service that they provide. They have been more than helpful with every visit since my purchase, have awesome perks - payment plans and have two years of free regular maintenance, and remember me with each time I visit. Their shop gives you a small town feel in a busy suburb. I couldnt be more pleased and am so happy I chose to purchase my bike at Bicycle Connection.
